The management game arrives in Lithuania for the first time - but not the only time this season - in recognition of the growth of interest in the area with teams AirBaltic-Endura and Ekspla-Cision. Both are here today, with home team Ekspla more likely to feature highly in the results although the two Lithuanians present: Striska and Mockus, probably won't be scoring any ranking points.
The route takes the peloton on a loop around the outskirts of the Lithuanian capital city, Vilnius. It is flat, but some small hills feature to make it not quite a perfect race for the pure hill-hating sprinters in the Continental field. The final 2.3km are all uphill - with much of the penultimate kilometre being a rise of 4%.
Many of the leading sprinters are those who may struggle if those climbs are ridden at a fast enough pace: Cherif Abdallah, Emanuele Rizza, Anthony Giacoppo, Mattia Gavazzi, Isaac Speirs and Trofeo Luis Puig winner Nico Schinker.
This could play until the hands of the riders with slightly less pace, but a bit more hill durability: Borut Bozic, Leonardo Duque, Manuel Belletti, Aleksei Saramotins, Tour des Bretagnes stage winners Francisco Lasca, Patrik Moren and Filipe Cardoso plus the Emerald Race winner Tiziano Dall'Antonia.
Credexbank join AirBaltic-Endura in facing an anonymous race.

This profile isn't very suiting for Abdallah Hopefully day can pull something off, but it will definitely be somebody with a decent hill stat who gets the honours.

Hoping for a top 5, from Chaoufi or Schinker. Maybe even Ghafari can pull out a surprise |

Hoping Bazhkou or Honkisz can do something here, doubt they are good enough though, Golas would like this route but other race focus has mean't he isn't here. But it's not a priority race of ours, more to show our colours in other Eastern European countries.

Anything can happen here, I just hope the team will go for Duque and not give him a free role and let him attack. If I want to win here, however, I'm gonna need a late attack by Ostergaard.

Dall'Antonia for me here based on the emerald race, but I like Duque a rider who was on my long list for this season. Looks like a tough finish that.
I spent a few days in Vilnuis before, I recall the city fondly very big party place and a fun place to be. A totally different feel to other capitals in that area of the world. Warsaw - grey, Riga - imposing, Tallinn - beautiful in a different way.

Got 3 threats here in Demare, Speirs and Belletti - all the sprinters are so close in ability its hard to pick a favourite - I just hope for a fun race and some good performances .

This is clearly for likes of Tizziano, cant see anyone beating him, he is perfect for it, like he did in Emarald Race.

The irony of me not bringing any Lithuanians here... Still, only here due to it being in our home region, and our team of eligible riders is poor to say the least.

Ansons-Gomenyuk-Cardoso should be a good train...
Let's hope I can win here... Cardoso was pretty strong in the Algarve so I think a top 3 should be possible.

WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY???? Why in the hell did Dall'Antonia attacked? Screw AI. Could have won here if it wasn't for the stupid, stupid, stupid AI. He attacked. Why? Because he wasn't the top sprinter. Screw that shit. |

Very happy with the riding from the team, a 3th place was over my expectations!

Position seemed to be really crucial at the finish there. Lasca timed that perfectly, and also well done from Giacoppo to hold on to a spot on the podium after a sprint that long.
Kappa looks more and more like a solid promotion contender

Strange and bit stupid race, with chaotic finale. Congrats to Kappa, they are doing great so far!
Tizziano and his team got robbed by stupid AI.
