Vacansoleil has a very strong team! Who will they send to Tirreno then?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Really short, sprinters should have a good chance aswell.
Costa, Howard, Viviani, Westra, Morkov, Engoulvent, Lemoine, Gallopin.

Not too many top stage-racers I see...
I can't really estimate the gaps made on stage 5. Will Gilbert for example stand a chance on the GC win, or is the mountain too big for that?
If stage 5 will make big differences, I can see Blanco doing a great job in the GC once again...
Kittel will probably win both stage 2 & 3, no other great sprinters are present here it seems

Think Bouhanni will be really close to Kittel here.
Montagne de Lure is quite a hard mountain. Gilbert should not have a chance here. Contador won there in 2009 in front of F. Schleck and LL. Sanchez.

In that case, I can see Blanco doing a great job on the GC, with Kruiswijk, Kelderman and(obviously) Gesink all able to ride a very strong GC.
The latter has a big chance to win it, although there are a few guys(for example Costa & De Gendt) who are maybe able to stop him.
Lets hope that Robert stays on his bike
Bouhanni can't match Kittel I think, although it might be close...

No descent of the Tanneron and no descent of Col d'Eze on the two final stages should suit him better.
Shame those two stages are no longer on the route. Always enjoyed them. Although the TT on Col d'Eze can also be exciting.
AND: Only 7 stages?

I see one stage missing, from Chatel-Guyon to Brioude. The Dutch BTW should do well here, since the competition isnt very strong

Stage 3 (4)
Could be a third chance for the sprinters depending how tough the 2nd Cat climb is, otherwise for the break.

Their T-A lineup:
Boy van Poppel
Grega Bole
Juan Antonio Flecha
Marco Marcato
Mirko Selvaggi
Sergey Lagutin
Tomasz Marczynski
Wout Poels
Arguably not as strong as their P-N lineup, as Poels is probably not strong enough yet to get himself involved too seriously. The Tirreno lineup is still decent though, they have lots of fighters on board, maybe if they're lucky they'll land a stage win. |

Aside from Kittel and Bouhanni, the train Keukeleire-Howard-Matthews has quite some potential. I'm expecting Boeckmans will be close to a stage win as well. And never ever forget about Petacchi.
About the GC I'm wondering was Westra and De Gendt can do, but my money is on TJ.

Expect De Gendt to do as he did the two previous years. Trying to win a stage from a succesfull break. Don't think he cares about the GC.

He now knows he can do a good GC, so why not go for it?
