It is Done! After a year in the 2nd Division of Continental pro Cycling, The russian Cycling outfit has made it into the ranks of a professional continetal tour team. Owner Mikhail Andropov was happy to announce the news and is looking forward to the coming season!

Russian Team unveils Sponsors this Morning
Moscow-Today at 11 am CET, the rusian ContDiv2 Team unveiled its Sponsors. After the press anouncement, at which the teams future was announced, rumors were floating in the room that one of the new sponsors was to be Wagit Alekrepovs LuKOil Company. These rumors have been confirmed this morning, as the yet another russian oil company will be a naming sponsor for the team in its 2nd season of existence.
LuKOil will be one of two naming partners of the russian team.
The second name giving sponsor comes a bit as a surprise. After the drop out of rosbank and a realignment of their budget, russian telecommunications provider ROSTELEKOM have increased their sposnsoring of the team and will be second naming partner. During this season, RosTelekom was already on board as a minor contributer to the team and it was expected that the stateowned company was to pull out of its sponsorship at the end of their one-year contract. "It was a lucrative opportunity for us, so it was a no brainer to spend the extra budget we had on the cycling team." said Aleksadr Gorachenko, Board member of RosTelekom.
The Team Management is thus proud to announce that the team will be named TEAM LUKOIL-ROSTELEKOM for the next 2 years.
surprisingly, Rostelekom stays on for another two years as naming sponsor of the russian Team.
Surprisingly, besides RosTelekom only Pinarello and Lada return to sponsor the team next year as they both signed multiple year contracts with the team. However, at Pinarello in Italy, the officials were pleased with the team and do not consider to bail on the russian contiinental2 Team. At Lada the Mood continues to be euphoric. "Hey, when have you ever seen a cycling team driving around in Ladas? We love the publicitywe are getting. Afterall even Katusha is using foreign car manufacturers. Its great to have at least one team staying conistent with their roots!" said a pleased Igor Komarov, the president of the russian Autowaz Company.
Both Pinarello and Lada continue their Sponsorship
However, a rather big amount of new Sponsors have joined the team. As of next season, the team will travel in style with private jet hire from Aeroflot. "It is great no to be worried about transport in public jets anymore. Before we had to adjust to the normal airline routes which often confronted our budget and so we could end up in a place as much as 2 weeks to only 10 hours prior the start of a race. This new co-operation will ease not just our timing problems but will also relieve us of major costs for travel. The best deal we could get", said the teams travel manager Ruslan Krasimov.
Aditionally, the Mettalurg SteelCompany from Magnitogorsk is chipping in as a sponsor along side new Clothing Manufacturer SMS Santini. The later company was already involved in a scandal though, as a leak from the offices of Chiefdesigner L.B.Marc had published a blurry image of a posiible jersey for next season.
Lastly, the team will do a pro bono sponsorship for the Wintergames in Sochi 2014.
Finally, the management has announced two key additions to the team in the PR sector. Both, Mikhail Andropov of the Moscow Times and Vitali Jevgenowitsch Davidov of the St. Petersburg Times, are now full members of the Teams Public Relations and Media Team. They will continue publish news for the St. petersburg Times and Moscow Times but under the name of LuKOil-RosTelekom with links given to their respective Newspapers.

LukOil-Rostelekom finalizes Pre-Transfer Season Roster
Miscow- Team LukOil-Rostelekom has finally reached a decision on which riders they want to keep and which riders will be leaving the team. Among the returning riders are both Klimov & Wellens, who recorded the only 2 wins for the team last season. Furthermore, Directeur Sportif Vyatcheslav Ekimov has expressed his wish for Egor Silin's return to the Team. Last Year, he was the youngest rider on the squad and he has still some room to improve.
The Riders That will be staying
Aleksander Serov Alexandr Bespalov Sergei Klimov
Mikhail Timochine Egor Silin Bart Wellens
The Team-Statement also hinted at the 5 riders that will definetly be leaving. Not surprising is the termination of contract of Indnesian "Sprinter" Samai Samai. "Much to the discomfort of Smowz, we just felt that Samai was not of our standards anymore. But on the other hand, that gives him the chance to pick his favourite rider up in the upoming transfer season", said Ekimov, having trouble hiding his smile as he mentioned the name of the Simply-Redbull manager. A surprise Termination however, is Masciarelli. The hopeful leader from last years season turned out to be the biggest bust Gazprom had all last year, "even worse than Samai", as one of the coaches was quoted.
Andrea Masciarelli Samai Samai Alesandr Bazjanov
Valeri Valinin Ilya Chernetsky
The future of 3 riders is yet to be determined. At the forefront of these riders is Xavier Tondo, who had a mixed season last year. His stay is conditioned on the prospect list DS Ekimov has. Evegeni Petrov has reportedly been linked with Semi-Bulgarian Outfit Boeing-Viacom, and Ekimov said that he "would serve a new Team well, as he did with us". Should he not leave the team on a transfer, he will surely stay for a second season as a helping hand. A rider whos future is secured with the Team is Alexei bauer, but the team will also look into the possibillity of loaning him out to a team at pro-continental level in order to max out his potential to make him a full leader for next season!

Russian Team gets Promotion
Moscow- The Russian Team LukOil-Rostelekomhas just received a promotion to ProContinental Status earlier this morning.
"We definetly deserved this Space in First Place" said Team Owner Andropov proud after the announcement!
DS Ekimov was quick to calm his Boss down and put the statement into persepective. "It was the Heat of the moment! What Mr. Andropov wanted to say is, that we definetly deserved the chance to prove ourselves worthy to be in the ProContinental Tour, but we also would have accepted Continental Tour Status. We are however really happy to be considered the first choice to move up to the ProContinental Stauts".
The Team goals were aligned and the HC Race selections were send out. The team is now looking into the Race Calendar and the possible transfer targets again, as the teams planning has to be changed due to the new Status. "Our Targeted races were evenly distributed between C1 and 2 races. Now that we have the new Status, we have to look into the calendar again. Also the riders we targeted are, what we feel, not all suitable for the ProContinental Tour, so we will have to spend some time with new rider evaluations and planning of the race calendar..." Ekimov said.

With the recent news of the team moving into the PCT, Roman Maksimov would like to entertain the thought of possible joining this team. But sources have also linked Maksimov with other Russian outlet Tinkoff Bank - Rosneft OJSC. Does the team have any interest in pursing the fast-man from CSC with their newly expanded wage cap?
