Eduardo Alonso
Short intro:
Spoiler Because i liked Ian Butlers story about Roberto Velasquez (click here) i decided to make a story in the style of that.
If you have interest in cycling you know Eduardo Alonso, without a doubt. But whats the story behind the spanish magician? Together with the british journalist, LeTrik, Eduardo now tells how his career have been:
Chapter 1:
I still remember the day, the day they offered me a contract. I was quiet surprised when i heard about it, why would they sign me? It was one of the biggest teams in Spain, if not the biggest, and they wanted to sign me! I was only 21 years old, i had my father right next to me. I broke the silence, i took the pencel and signed the contract...
Movistar here i come!
BTW GUYS:
Spoiler If any of you want to make a top banner for the story, please pm me.

Chapter 2 - Alonso's first race
Eduardo started his career at the spanish race Vuelta a Burgos, a 5 day race containing 1 hilly stage, 1 sprinting stage, a TT stage, another sprinting stage and finally a mountain stage. Only 4 pro tour teams competed in this race, Saxobank, Katusha, Euskatel and Eduardos team, Movistar.
Stage 1:
No one expected anything from Eduardo, specially not against some strong riders like Moreno, Mikel Nieve, Nicki Sørensen and Thibaut Pinot. The most famous moment was probally 22 km from goal.
Eurosport commentator:
A new attack, Nicki Sørensen is with in it! What are the other favourites gonna do? Katusha takes the lead, they try to help Moreno. But who is that? Its a Movistar rider, its Eduardo Alonso, only 21 years old, taking the lead in the big group! (5 km later) He have captured the breakaway, incredible! Watch out for this young lad, he got some potential.
-Matthew Taylor
Matthew Taylor was the first one to say it: he got some potential. Soon the rest of the world was gonna know about it aswell.
With 10 km to go:
Eurosport commentator:
He goes solo! Eduardo Alonso rides solo, he got 30 seconds, will it hold? We shall see. Sandy Casar takes the lead in the big group, he tries to catch the youngster. (with 5 km to go) He hit the last hill, Eduardo still got 30 seconds, whats happening? He is pacing forward, and expanding his lead! 40 seconds, 48 seconds, 57 seconds! He got more than a minute now, with only 2,7 km to go! The peleton has been destroyed, and only 18 riders is behind Eduardo, Casar still setting pace in the peleton. Moreno attacks! He tries to close the gap, but its to late. 1 km to go, Alonso still got 1 minute. Theres the line, a win for Alonso, in his debut race! Moreno loses more than 50 seconds!

Moreno after stage 1:
-When i saw him take the lead i was impressed, but i though, hey he's only 21 years, if he wants to use his energy on that, then fine! But that he was able to finish in that way surprised me, i though he wasnt able to finish it, but he was. I tell you world, keep an eye on this guy, he will be big one day!

Chapter 2 - Time to shine
Alonso lost his leader jersey on stage 2 when a breakaway held all the way, he recovered some time on the tt through, and is only 2'26' seconds behind the leader, still he had the mountain stage to get back the jersey. The official times cant be found, but Eduardo Alonso got over the finish line together with Nicki Sørensen, and recaptured the leader jersey. (Actully i dindt ride the last stage, as my computer decided to simulate without me asking it to do so.)

Chapter 3 - To the cobble!
''It was summer, i dont remember the exact date, Luiz Gonzalez ( Manager of Movistar 2012-14) came to me and asked me something. When he left me i couldnt believe it, he asked me to train to become a cobble rider! I though, why not give it a try? Already the next day i meet with the cobble trainer, Filio Dominiquez, and we started training. She was a nice lady, only 2 years older than me. She gave me a route, i was done with it 3 hours later. She told me that a good cobble rider could do it in 2 and a half hour, i had to practice alot harder.''

Chapter 4 - Charity Race
''3 weeks before the start of Tour de France i got good news and bad news. The bad news being i wouldnt compete in TDF, which mad me quiet sad, but good news i was gonna be captain in Tour of Pologne, and the Charity Race! Now you probally wonder ''What is the Charity Race?'' The Charity Race was a 1-day race, only held in 2012, all money was going directly to charity, and i would love to compete in that race! About the cobble training, its going quiet well, and me and Filio has become ''more than friends'' if you understand.''

Nice one with the cobble-lady
Hope he can win RvV one day, where you need hills as well as cobblestones! |

Also hopes that, but the only races he will compete in this season is Charity Race, Tour of Pologne, maybe Vuelta (not sure yet, he will be luxury helper for Valverde if he will race it) and Tour of Beijing.
