"Another long stage. This one stretches 217 km from Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux to Cap d'Agde, where the bunch will embrace the Mediterranean. A treasure trove of beautiful TV pictures... and the prospect of a sprint finish, at least among those fast men who have managed not to lose contact on the climb up the Mont-Saint-Clair, 23 kilometres from the finish. In other words, the stage is not a piece of cake and the race could go crazy. Moreover, the wind is always a menace near the Mediterranean, and we already saw what it can do when the Tour visited La Grande Motte in 2009..."

A duel between Cavendish or Greipel ? Or will French rider steal all the glory in that special day for all France ?

I hope this one won't be as boring as stage 12 Wink

MY PCM$ is on a Frenchie, so let's hope they let a break stay away. If not, I say Greipel again, over Goss and Cav.

Greipel.

A Frenchie on there day. Storm the Bastille! If the BOTD can't get it Chavanel will onthe 2 percent bump.

Hoping for some crosswinds.

If Cavendish is within two bikelengths from Greipel with 250m left, he'll take this. If he's further back than that, Greipel will hold him off.

Goss will gain a point or two on Sagan.

Chava is ill and on antibiotics :'( Otherwise he would solo breakaway the stage from km zero to win.

Normally I would be yawning and pointing to cav. This year though the sprints are better than the climbs.

Please assume I am joking unless otherwise stated

Crosswinds? Only when Sky gets caught in a 2nd or 3rd echelon, else they won't have any trouble in staying in the first echelon. Nt that I want Sky to loose, but loosing 2-3 minutes will make the GC a little bit more interesting!

A Frenchman hasn't won on Bastille Day since Moncoutie in 2005, meaning it's about time for another French win on their National Day. Though, it would be nice to see a big fight on the final 40 kilometers, with the peloton splitted into several echelons, fighting for both the stage win and an overall placing.

Edit, Oh, and I almost forgot, I'm hoping for Mørkøv, if he somehow wins it, I'm pretty sure it will be the most emotional win this Tour.

I dont see a French winning... I hope for Greipel, but I think Cav will win the stage closely in front of him, if there are hopefully no crashesWink

Mont Saint-Clair ? Brings back many good memories from the early 2000's. I like it. Cool

To be honest I can't remember when we had pure sprint ( hyperbolic ) - so I am actually excited for this stage. Or at least the last 20km of it Wink

It's probably been reported, but Gesink finally pulled out, joining Mollema.

Gesink, Mollema, Tjallingii, Poels, Ruijgh, Westra, Veelers.... Didn't know it was possible, but they perform even worse than the football-team. But in contrary to that team, these riders all got a reason to have abandoned....

Greipel, hopefully. And in a direct duel with Cav, so noone can say "oh but Cav wasn't there, so it's not a normal win".

Would be the first time since 2001 that Germans win 3 stages in a Tour, if we don't count Schumacher's wins in 2008.

I know, as I said in my post. I just realized it though. Sorry for forcing your face into the screen and making you read about a one sentence post you already knew, wasting your life. (I'd put a smiley here but that would ,make the first sentence weird)

None of them is going to make it in the peloton above Mont Saint-Clair.

It could be a sprint involving the strongest climbers among the sprinters. Sagan is the evident name here.
