Boulder, Colorado - Marc Allan, a former cyclist on the US cycling circuit, has talked about starting a new team that will focus on young rider development. He also wants to do an experiment: build the team with a core of young, brash riders and keep most, if not all, together. He also wants to recruit cyclists that are described as "diamonds in the rough." He is recruiting all over the globe for his "It" riders. More details will be announced at a later date.
Story Maker's Note: I need your riders. I have finally gotten through an entire season of PCM (I keep restarting games lol) and now I feel that I can actually do a story. There are going to be a few rules for your cyclists.
Rules:
1: Only U23 cyclists allowed
2: You can only have a maximum of 4 stats over 70, but not over 75.
3: First 3 riders posted will have max potential, the next 3 will have 7 potential, the next 4 will have 6, then the next 5 will have level 5 potential. Riders after that will have 5 or under potential.
4: NO SUPER DOPED UP CYCLISTS
Also, please give a story to why your rider was under-scouted to begin with. The personality of your rider description could have some effect on the potential ratings.
I hope to see some posts on the thread. I really would like to get this underway.
Anthony Scott is new to the scene of cycling, growing up around Austin, Texas cycling had become more of a pastime to him as a way to keep in shape. Tony was instead focused on Baseball, becoming a highly sought after pitcher that would be drafted by the MLB after his senior year of high school. However baseball would not choose Anthony, during his senior season he would injure his pitching arm and would not get a full recovery to bring back the velocity of his pitches. While in rehab though he was able to develop more as a cyclist since the rotational strength of his arm was not needed. His energy was now focused on the road, and the hilly terrain around Austin became a great place to ride. Uniquely he also found he enjoyed the peace and quiet, quite frequently riding a good distance to some of the smaller Texas towns, and well out of the spotlight that had started to shine on him as a high draft prospect and star of the high school baseball team. Many always predicted he would become a professional athlete out of high school, but I don't think anyone expected it would be cycling.

Zoltan was a formerly junior triathlon champion in Hungary and gained some remarcable places in WC races. But after a stupid accident, he had sick of the water (swimming) and oriented for the cycling. First time he had raced without team in amateur races and gain some surprising victories, but the hungarian Betonexpress continental team showed interest for him recently. Zoltan as a foemer triatlonist was good on the flat but after 2 months summer camp in Austria he oriented for the mountains. But the lack of professional teams in his region made him desperate because the few teams that were around mainly raced short, flat criteriums for which they used track cyclists rather than him.
So he didn't want to be a one-trick-pony, he looked for a way to combine a good uphill speed with a strong sprint to be in a better condition after a lumpy stage.
He then returned to his local cycling club, and when he joined it on a training ride, he still wasn't faster than their sprinters, but he dropped everyone by a minute on a sharp climb.
He impressed hugely, and finally, someone recognised his potential as a road cyclist and recommended him to a professional team in the build-up.
Miguel Rocha dreams of becoming the best time trialist in the world. After, seeing Lance Armstrong winning 7 TdF, he got in love with cycling, and dreamed in beeing a professional cyclist. At the age of 15, a portuguese amateur from his home town spotted him, and hired him. In his first race, a county race, he finished 2nd, after a great recovery in the last kilometre. His role model is Fabian Cancellara, he dreams to be as good as Spartacus.
Now, he has the chance of a professional contract and is ready for racing.
Both his parents died before he was 16, so Ladin knows life is tough. While being a successful track cyclist, and small scale road race rider, being russian he is overlooked by major players in the world of cycling. Now he will have the chance to change that.
He can dig deeper and suffer more than anyone, and will try everything to win. But at the same time he knows he may need help, and is willing to work now to gain favour in the future.

Padraig grew up in the plain flats of Cork and Kerry.At the age of 12 he raced in his first race and won it in a mass sprint. Irish national coaches saw in him the irish answer to Mark Cavendish and by the age of 15 he was country wide referred to as the "Munster Missile". However, because of a few serious injuries, he never made it to the pros. He broke his leg 2 times and had to sit out a whole year due to injury. This immensely stalled his development as a cyclist and it is only know that he is getting back on the bike having raced his last copetition over 2 years ago, a small county race around the ring of Kerry where he came dead last with over 4 minutes back of the winner. Scouts nowadays write that his development has peaked, his preparation is non existent and that he will never play a role in any race other than small scale national races anymore.
However Padraig has made it his mission to prove the Scout System of World Tour Teams wrong and in order to become the "Munster Missile" again, he joined a new team full of riders with the same goal as his very own...

Gary came through the ranks in his native Wales with regular time trial victories and some pretty decent results in stage races, but couldn't show his true potential due to ongoing health issues which restricted him to bit part performances.
But now all that is behind him and he has caught the eye of former American cyclist Marc Allan whom he hopes will agree to him joining his new team and will finally unleash him into the higher ranks of the cycling world so he can show everyone what he is made of.
Mate is not a world class talent, but with hard work, he can be amongst the best at his speciality. He grew up on the flats of Hungary, and practiced sprinting a lot. He also tried to improve his punching ability, but he quickly found it out, that he is not even close to the best there, but he ha a nice kick which can be used well. He won several U21 races, and now he decided to go pro. He believes, that he is clever and fast enough to win the mass-sprints.

At the age of 16, Bob entered his first race, a race of 25 laps, each lap being two km. He thought he was good, untill he saw everyone else with their fancy road bikes and jerseys. He fell far behind, and withdrew after ten laps. He privately trained on his own, and during a trip to France at the age of 19 while in college, he realized that he was a great cobbles rider from riders on the cracked streets of NYC. He also got a time trial bike and won an amatuer race. However, he had never raced on the U23 circuit until last year, so he was widely underscouted. He is kind, confident but not conceded, and is well known by his friends for his love of pickles.

Boulder, Colorado- Marc Allan's young team is starting to look more realistic each day. It has been announced that the team will ride Specialized bikes with SRAM providing the components.
Allan has also announced the first riders to join the team. Allan has traveled around the world since retiring, and the squad has an international flavor to it so far.
Riders include from the US; Russ Bennett from Fayetteville, Arkansas, Anthony Scott from Austin, Texas, and Bob Bobson from New York City.
Allan has also scouted in central Europe. Two Hungarian riders, Jakob Zoltan and Mate Gombocz have signed. Both of them look to become the catalyst for professional cycling in Hungary. The team has also signed Tim Bauer of Germany, who many think has a chance to become a great sprinter after a couple seasons.
Young Russian talent Ladin Livshits has also been signed. Allan has compared Ladin to Jens Voigt, due to his ability to make riders suffer.
The squad is reinforced with some talent from across the as well. Gary Sutton of Great Britain and Paidraig O'Gara have also signed as well.
Portugal has also seen one of its young talents sign with the squad in Miguel Rocha. Rocha is seen as one of the top U23 time trialers in the world at the moment.
Allan has stated that he would like five more riders for the team and continue to scout.
John grew up in the small town of Allport, inside of Pennsylvania. He was always a fan of cycling in high school, but everybody, including teachers, told him he would never make it in the cycling world. Determined, John had to join a team almost 3 hours away from him, and his trainer immediately saw a future in John. Avid runner & lifter, he was built for hills & mountains, and he is very well at them. He has a nice personality and never gives up, and hopes one day to take the cycling world into his own hands, and prove everyone wrong.

Chris has grown up in Georgia playing the popular sports, football, basketball, and baseball. In high school he ran cross-country and track, and this allowed him to build up his endurance and speed. Sadly in the town he grew up in no one enjoys cycling, so he couldn't discover his true cycling potential. But one summer he started watching the Tour de France with his Grandpa and fell in love. At age 16 he bought his first road bike and started riding and getting better. He loved riding in the mountains of north Georgia and pretending he was in Le Tour riding against the likes of Evans, Sastre, Rasmussen, Vinokourov, and Contador. He eventually found his climbing legs and started to enter races. At first he was not very good and would get dropped at the base of climbs. Eventually he got his very own trainer and his skill increased rapidly and soon he could leave riders in the mountains with ease. But sadly he has only ridden in very small races and hasn't been noticed by any big name teams yet. But one day after completely dominating a race Marc Allan approached him and said he had great potential and he would love to have him on his new team full of young riders. This is probably the best chance he will ever have to join a pro tour team and he looks to take full advantage of it and eventually become an American legend! He is well focused, mature beyond his years, and obedient. He is ready to do everything he can to help the team and himself succeed!

Russ Bennett hails from the state of Arkansas. After finding the sport at 16, he dedicated himself to being the next true all rounder. He established himself in the sprint heavy scene in Little Rock before leaving high school. When he enrolled at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, he also had to learn how to climb, since the Ozarks are very hilly. He immediately made a name for himself by winning the amateur version of the Joe Martin Stage Race in Fayetteville by winning every stage of the four-stage race. Allan has likened him to Purito, but can also time trial.
He comes to the team with some baggage though. He had signed a contract with Garmin's feeder team for next year until he got into a fight with a rider from Princeton in the Collegiate National Championships. He was suspended for the next season and Team Chipotle voided his contract. He is also known for his cockiness and blunt personality. We're not sure if he can keep his cockiness in check, but he is one of the best, if not the best, talents coming out of the US.
Anthony is a very young rider, but I think he'll develop in a Chris Horner type of development. He is a former baseball player who could have been a good pitcher for any organization in the MLB.
I haven't seen an athlete quite like Scott. He'll be the one to look out for in hilly races. He might even be good enough to compete with the big name riders in the not so distant future.
We were glad that Scott decided to sign with us. We look forward to what he can bring to the table.
Mike came to the world of cycling quite later, after a junior career in Mountain Biking, he was offered a chance to take up road cycling after a local scout watched his ability to provide a sudden turn of pace, when he joined the club circuit his pace quickly became apparent, and his background in MTB means he can handle a bike really well over rough terrain, he hopes to one day compete in the top races such as Roubaix, Ronde etc

Also, I will also hire three veteran cyclists. A stage race vet, a sprint vet, and a punchy vet. They will act as mentors to the riders for a while. I have an idea on who I want, but it'll be after I get the last two riders.
Casper had always been a track athlete, he preferably ran distances like the 400 and 800m. When he was 11, he got inspired by cycling, and when going to school on his normal bike, he rode as fast as he could. A few years later, at the age of 14, he realized he was not much slower than professional cyclists were on short prologues. When Casper was 15, he joined the local track cycling club. The trainers saw he had a lot of potential, and sent him to a bigger club, so he could join national competitions. After he won the national championship Keirin U19 (he was 18), he switched to road cycling. He could stay at the same club, and he focused on prologues, because he loved to push the limit, and his running and track cycling history really gave him an advantage over others. After he won the prologue of a small U23 race, he was scouted by Marc Allan, and joined his team.
