Oh yes it is that time of the year again! The European racing calendar is up and runnning and the first two European WorldTour races have fantasy cycling races over at Velogames: https://www.veloga.../index.php
The site layout is much more professional and indeed a new feature is being implemented - a full season fanasty cycling series! That's right, your score will carry on throughout the entire expanded season and thus we can get a real idea of who the best fantasy manager is on this site! As far as I can see, Paris-Nice and Tirreno-Adriatico are training races that won't count towards the total.
For those who haven't done this before, you basically select a team from a range of riders up to a certain number of points. Then you join into a mini league set up for members of our forum and as each stage is raced you will gain more points depending on results during the race. The person with the most points at the end of each race, wins. Simple as that.
Rules: https://www.veloga...2rules.php
Rider Points Cost: https://www.veloga...riders.php
You have up to 100 points to spend and you must select 9 riders. For people who have done this before, note that the selection criteria for riders has changed. You aren't restricted by rider 'type' any more. The point scoring system has also changed to make winning key GC stages worth more - it is also worth noting that GC positions don't give you points now. Another new feature is the ability to make 12 transfers throughout throughout the race, so that you can select riders who you think are going to do better before a certain stage. Even if you have done this stuff before, it is worth reading over the rules.
After you have created your team, click on it on the right hand side of the page. Down the bottom of that page it will have an option that says "Join League". Click that. Then enter our league code, 01075739. It will ask you to confirm your entry and make sure that you click confirm, it is quite easy to miss. Also remember to put your forum Username when you put your team in, otherwise we won't know that it is you.
If you have any questions then post them here and someone will be able to help you!
Tirreno-Adriatico is also getting a race on the site, but I'll post up a new thread for that one when it opens later this week.
And of course, what would this thread be without a picture of Didi?

I just noticed that GC places don't score points anymore. That is going to massively change my selections.

Yeah the transfers after each stage will be the absolute key.

No points for GC at the end of a tour, that will make the picks from stage to stage tricky.
Anyway, this should be fun |

Interesting changes in the scoring system, as well as the addition of transfers during races.
But I remember them making quite slow updates in the previous years. I wonder how will they do this year with the transfers complicating things a bit.

Wow, this has changed so much. It's quite awesome now, although it adds chances for me to fuck it up.
I'm in btw.

Interesting changes. Would prefer a no transfer system but the no final GC scoring points are really nice as it makes the selection harder. Will probably need PN and Tirreno to get to know the new system .
Being on my mobile phone I am not 100% aware of the profiles, so I have no pure sprinter as they have been pretty expensive. On the other hand it's an important factor with the new scoring system.
Good luck everyone. Lets have a great season then. Hope I can continue like last year where I was top10 if I remember right. |

Could someone correct me if I am right or wrong ?
Looking at canojuancho team, it's obviously prologue based. Are you allowed to change your team transfers ; 12 changes per stage, or per the whole race ?
I am would think latter, but I need clarification.
Batista15 you better remove EBH, as he's starting at Tirreno
