Team Leaders
The two team leaders on Katusha are quite clearly, Denis Menchov and Joaquim Rodriguez. Dencohv will be our man for the Tour de France, and J-Rod's major goal of the season will be the Vuelta. Rodriguez may also ride the Giro, but I'm also thinking of going with a younger squad and focussing on the sprints with Freire or Galimzyanov. Which leads us to our next set of leaders.
Sprinters
I think Oscar Freire will be our top sprinter this season. I believe he will still have a lot to give, and he will be a great person to look up to, for Denis Galimzyanov. Freire will want to win Milan San Remo although I'm not sure he has the legs anymore. Its obvious he wanted out of Rabobank so that he could get one last Tour de France in, so that will be his ultimate goal, but Galimzyanov will be there as well, so I plan on having a two-pronged attack there. Freire will also start the season at the Tour Down Under in a matter of days.
Rest of the Team
I think we have one of the stronger teams in the peloton. I know we dont have many cobble riders, but that isn't our strength so why try to have something, when we wont have a chance anyway. Because of that we've built up the depth in other areas. Climbers, well we have lots of those. Daniel Moreno will be a super domestique, but maybe he could lead the Giro. Then we have Spilak who has great potential. He's not a top climber yet but in a few years time, who knows.
For crazy attacking riders, we have none other than Mikhail Ignatiev who should be a really exciting rider to watch in the upcoming season. He is also one of our stronger TTers.
If we need any backup sprinters we definitely aren't short on them! Luca Paolini and Andreas Stauff who recently signed thanks to the new manager. Those two may not have great seasons, but a win or two each should be a reachable target. And how could we forget Alexander Kristoff the Norwegian sprinter. He promises great things for the future as well.
Then we have quite a lot of strong riders who will be good teammates during the year. Either that or breakaway riders, but we have quite a lot of riders with almost the same skills, but it also adds depth if we get an injury.

The team goals are a little weird, but I think we can reach these goals. I know we will want to do well in more than just these races though, because our sponsors in Russia demand it!

But this is looking awesome. Can't wait for you to start. Should be fun to see what you can do with Rodriguez, Menchov and the others.

Well, I was hoping for Vacansoleil, but Katusha's nice too. Hope your motivation will stay at 140% during the entire story. |

White russian is by far a better drink, but that wouldnt suit much
I personally dislike their new jersey, but that is not important, as you are my favourite story-writer. Good luck with the story...

@ Pelli - Yeah Thanks a lot, and I agree. I'm also interested with Belkov, Trofimov and a few others!
@ Freitas - I know, most people were hoping for Vacansoleil, but Katusha are never done (the last story I remember by them, was Batista's in 09) I hope you're right, but I cant make any promises.
@ Avin - I think the Black Russian is good too. But unfortunately Katusha's jersey is Red I love their new jersey however. Thats great to hear too!
