Now the 2011 season is finished, what do you think was the best AND worst moment of the past season?
Mine:
Best: Jelle Vanendert winning on Plateau de Beille
Worst: Wouter Weylandt's fatal crash

R.I.P Wouter Weylandt (1984 - 2011)
Pain is a big fat creature riding on your back. The farther you pedal, the heavier he feels. The harder you push, the tighter he squeezes your chest. The steeper the climb, the deeper he digs his jagged, sharp claws into your muscles.- Scott Martin

You cant get much worse than Weylandt's crash for bad moments this season.
But the best moment would have to be the Hushovd - Eddy The Boss "double" on stage 16 of the tour. |

Best: Nick Nuyens winning the Tour of Flanders. I mean, it just was all perfect, beating Cancellara and all. Everytime i watch the Youtube-clip with Nuyens win and Riis reaction in the teamcar i get so happy. Makes my day every time
Worst: Wouter Weylandt crash i guess. I was at the Giro-presentation sunday, and there was a short movie about him. Made me really sad (was a beatiful video though). Must be the worst moment. |

I enjoyed Andy's victory on the Galibier and when BMC worked their asses off to bring back Cancellara and Chavanel in Flandres. |

Best: Bart De Clerq winning on the Montevergine di Mercogliano. I still remember how i got totally psyched when he crossed the line centimetres in front of Scarponi. Was really awesome.
Worst: The terrible accidents that happened to both Weylandt and Tondo.

Avoiding the obvious worst RIP Wouter and Tondo ....
2nd Worst Moment; Flecha being hit by a tv car, and Hoogerland hitting the barbed fence
Best Moment; Hoogerland taking the podium at the end of the stage

Best moment: Cadel Evans chasing down Schleck on the Galibier and the grenoble TT.
Worst moment: Besides Weylandt and Tondo, Maurico Soler crashing in the leader's jersey and being put into a coma.

I have a few:
Best: Evans winning TDF, Cavendish winning Worlds and TDF green jersey, Gilbert's ardennes classics wins, and Froome and Wiggins on the poduim in the Vuelta.
Worst: Wouter Weylandt's fata crash, Soler's crash, Contador taking part in the Giro and Vinokourov's crash in the TDF.
Been a memorable season with some high points and very low points

I will not be chauvinistic because i would say then the tears of Johnny "Lion Heart" Hoogerland when he gets the Mjersey when he was badly injured in the Tour.
I would say that the overclassing of Philip Gilbert in LBL. Where Gilbert was in the tongs(like we say in Holland) between the 2 Schlecks but they were just totally exhausted and incapable to attack and get the advantage.
Worst moment. All the crashes that have huge impact on cycling.

This season has had many good, and many bad. Wouter and Xavier are the worst moments, with Cadel winning the tour being my favourite moment

Best: The Galibier stage in the Tour. The cobbled classics were also awesome.
Worst: All the crashes that ruined way too much. |

Best: When I was looking forward to see Monte Crostis ahead of the Giro
Worst: When Monte Crostis was taken out of the race. (Though it may have been a good decision regarding the riders safety. And of course I really think WW's and XT's death were the worst.) |

Best, (ok I'm going to cheat a bit) I'm going with the emergence of young riders. Sagan and Kittel both proving they can be winning sprinters. Rolland, how high could he have finished in the TDF if he wasn't protecting the yellow for half of the tour?
Worst (again cheating, and ignoring the crashes which obviously are the worst): Contador forgetting that the TDF started in July...he was never really in the mix this year, though it took everyone a bit to realize it.
