It seems promised to sprinters, so Cavendish is the obvious pick here. |

Add Tom Boonen with the DNF-list He will probably say he has fallen 23 times & had 16 punctures, as excuses for not ending the race
1. Cavendish
2. Greipel
3. Farrar
This podium would be very nice |

Both Gilbert and Freire has noted that it's an easy course, Gilbert has said he thinks it's too easy for him to have a chance at winning, the last hill is not steep enough.
And Freire said it's a good thing it's not harder, otherwise Gilbert would have won, but he still lists him as a favourite together with Hushovd and Sagan, he also mentions himself as a possible candidate since the finish is hard (the last 6-700 metres are uphill).
Boonen has said, much in terms of what we heard from Gilbert and Freire, that it's a course that favours sprinters like himself, hard pressed by the journalist Boonen had to admit that possibility of him not winning is a real possibility and mentions Breschel as his closest threat.
The comment about Breschel might just have been made to make the Danish journalist happy, but in my opinion this finish suit him better than the one in Geelong, it's harder, but if Farrar, Cav etc. are still in the peleton at that point it's really gonna matter much.

Are you talking about by the riders or the spectators? I doubt the riders have forgotten about Hushovd I doubt they are that stupid. Personally I see him having a hard time winning again. If it's a sprint in a large group he's gonna be beaten by the faster sprinters, he's lost a lot of speed the last 12 months. In a sprint in a smaller group I see him having a hard time too, I see riders like Freire, Breschel and Sagan as equal to Hushovd in speed or faster than him.

Well Freire, Breschel and even Sagan needs the field to be decimated quite massively. The route is really not that hard. As much as I'd like to see Breschel up there I'm having a hard time imagining it. He can prove me wrong at any point if he wants to though.
For me it's the pure sprinters. Cavendish, Farrar, Greipel, maybe Gilbert can do something as an exception, but then again, he is.....Gilbert.

I predicted Goss back in January and I'm sticking to him, although Haussler I also reckon Haussler will be in with a serious chance

How easy is the route? I mean.. Nuyens, Bennati and Modolo doesnt think its a easy route, and they dont think its a route for sprinters. But then, Freire and others thinks the route is pretty easy, and for the pure sprinters.
We will see. I dont think the route is so good for Breschel though, and also he needs more speed in the sprint IMO.
