He was caught positive to a diuretic which can hide the use of other products. Let's wait for the B sample.
Somehow, I was hoping this wouldn't happen! |

Hadn't his name been related to doping in the past...? Or am I mixing up with another Russian rider?

One of the guys also caught in one of the investigations in Spain. He was a client of either Losa or Virú, can't remember which doping doctor.
It was after that came to light that Riis immediately started shopping him around to other teams.

It was Losa, just like LL Sánchez and Maté.
So yeah, nothing shocking.

Shocking news, who could have though ?
I guess he got it in some pork meat. |

Nah, it was probably a "tainted supplement".

He won't get suspended as HCT is no performance-enhancing drug.
It's up to the team if they continue to let him ride. |

Yesterday's crashes and now this. Let's wait for B sample though but it is very likely that he was dopes. Shame on you Kolobnev! |

Source? I highly doubt that you don't get a suspension from using HCT.
It's forbidden to use product that hide other products. There's a WADA list of drugs that has that "function", and HCT is on that list.
So in other words: HCT is on WADA's list of forbidden drugs. |

Misunderstood it a bit, he won't get provisionally suspened by the UCI.
The UCI later confirmed the news, but said it will not provisionally suspend the rider because HCT is not a "specified substance". This means the rider can continue to compete, but the UCI press release stated it is "confident that his team will take the necessary steps to enable the Tour de France to continue in serenity and to ensure that their rider has the opportunity to properly prepare his defense in particular within the legal timeline, which allows four days for him to have his B sample analyzed".
