You could be forgiven for wondering whether Philippe Gilbert sketched out his dream scenario for week one and the Tour simply went with it. This is by some distance the Tour's longest stage, taking in undulating roads. There are no big hills as such, just constant up and downs taking a toll. Even though you would expect the sprinters to be in control in this region, there is sure to be a late twist on the short, sharp rise towards the basilica in Lisieux, little more than a kilometre from the finish. Any riders who gain seconds there are likely to dispute the finish between them.

Hagen and Thomas if they work together can cause damage. Uran too as he likes those kind of finishes. Gilbert will be marked man. Voeckler will be good bet if he attacks on the second or third last hill.

Long and kinda hilly stage. Me likes. I doubt it's tough enough for Gilbert though. Lotto would need to work to make the stage hard if they want Phil to win.

But anyway, I think this stage will end in a mass sprint, because Garmin will definetely want to defend Hushovd's yellow jersey. So Hushovd, Rojas, Gilbert and maybe a rider like Feillu or Dumoulin (or Bole ) for the win.

I think a rider with a lot of strength and stamina will win this one... Just saying potensial winners...
Gilbert,Hushovd,Cancellara,Rojas,Boonen- if he still is 100% ready... Bole.

again depends on the pace from km 2.5 to km 1. if the pace is as high as it was yeseterday then none of regular sprinters (with the exception of hushovd and rojas) have a shot. its not the mur but its far from flat
