We have reached the stage where all existing teams must take care of contracts for the 2012 season for their 2011 team, and as ever, the riders have come up with optimistic demands for how much you will be willing to pay them.
Some may be willing to negotiate a lot, others may have little room for negotiation at all. But what is certain that you have just 3 rounds of renewals to come to an agreement with your rider, or else it's off to the free agency for them! Of course, it may not even take 3 rounds! If you dont want to keep a rider, offer him nothing, and he will also be on his way to the free agency.
You will all receive a file with you riders, and their first round wage request. Fill this in, send it to my SN-ManGame account and await Round 2, and then Round 3. I will also be telling you your budget for the upcoming transfer season - it is up to you whether you make this public or not.
There have been a couple of changes in renewals from last year, besides the behind the scenes stuff that generates everything in my massive Excel file - which you dont need to know about!
The primary change is in terms of the response a rider gives you if he has rejected your offer: "Close" "Average" "Way off" "Serious increase needed"
In the past, these categories related to a finite distance - i.e. if it was Close, you knew you were no more than 10,000 away from an acceptable offer. But this year, this is not the case as the boundaries for these categories are much more varied - and randomly generated.
Finally, dont forget that if that if you have more than 2 stagiares, you can not sign more than 2 of them.
To help with renewals, here is an updated database file https://www.mediafire.com/?ck3fobb8lww...bb8lww84j9
PT teams will be done before CT teams, but while you are waiting CT managers, dont forget to fill in your HC race allocation, only about half of the CT teams have so far done so.

mid exams, perfect timing
Out of interest could you give us a rough guide to how close the boundaries are?
Or even an outer limit, just so that if we hit round three we know that if we really need to sign a rider this is how much we have to pay?

Theres a rough guide in the file:
Close | | At most 20k away, potentially no more than 10k | Average | | Could mean up to as far away as 80k, but could also mean much closer than that | Way Off | | Maybe you are roughly 180k away from the rider's accepting wage, but alternatively it could be half of that | Serious increase needed | | If you're not close, you're not average, you're not way off, and a deal has not been made, then the rider isnt very happy with you! |

I should probably add that when I said PT teams go first, what I meant was that the PT teams from 2011 first.

And yes, Im not expecting instant responses - but I would definately like to see transfers start this month, and so Id encourage people to do this when they can, being aware that the transfer season wont wait for them if they take too long.

@SN - maybe send the PMs from your SN-ManGame account? Because people will inevitably hit reply without checking

Damn, it's always hard to face realities but only two of my riders are under thirty years old - Mission achieved
Good to see the game back up again, I'm pretty lucky that there is only one exam left for me.. though I'm also taking my driving license atm. Can't complain though

Exactly what I was thinking. Plus you didn't put the right link for your account
But the important thing is that the transfer season is getting closer and closer

What kind of idiot would be unable to follow simple instructions and send a message to the right account? What are we all, 6?
Errrmmmm.....oops.....I did and didn't realize 'til I read this.
And on the subject of renewals, Valverde has a high opinion of himself. You'd think he thinks he's capable of winning the Tour and dominating in the Ardennes which just isn't the case..... |
