2012 Team Goals and Target Races
SportingNonsense
The calendar is out (see other thread), now all teams must decide their 5 sponsor goals!

Team Goals are important - not only will they affect your budget for this season, but the amount you achieve will also affect your budget for the season after. If you choose harder goals, you will get a larger budget this year than easier goals - but fail to achieve them, and next year your budget will very much suffer.

The system for selecting goals is once again similar to last year. Each type of goal has a cost, and you can spend between from 14 to 23 points on your 5 different goals - the more you spend, the higher your budget, but the more pressure there is to perform.

ProTour

The table shows what each respective goal costs. There are also there additional restraints:
All teams must have at least 1 Grand Tour goal
All teams must have at least 1 'Win' Goal - This means winning a classic or Stage Race outright
All teams must have a Team Standings Goal (This includes avoiding relegation)
No more than 1 goal per Grand Tour
No more than 1 Points/KoM Goal

Continental
i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy344/DailyManGame2011/goalsct2012.png
There are also restraints for Continental teams:
All teams must have at least 1 'Win' Goal
All teams must have at least 1 HC Race Goal
All teams have at least 1 Team Standings Goal (It can be for Overall standings, or for a Regional Tour)
Teams cannot have more than 2 Standings Goals (Overall Team, Individual, or Regional)
No more than 1 Points/KoM Goal

And please note: The stage wins goals means stage wins. Overall race victories - be it a stage race or one day race - do not count.

Target Races

In addition to your 5 goals, you should also select 5 Target Races. These are races that do not feature in your goals, but where your sponsors will still expect a strong showing. Indeed, a strong result in them could help your budget for the 2013 season.

Please PM your choices to me.
If all correct within guidelines, you will receive your budget for next season some time next week. If incorrect, either myself or someone else in the Man-Game running team (i.e. those in the Reporters group) will ask you to fix this.
If the PM is sent then expect that I have got it - dont expect a reply, Im rather busy over the next week or so.

Please complete this as fast as possible
I am serious about this, the speed at which this is done will have a big impact on whether the transfer season takes place in April, or June.
At the latest Wednesday/Thursday next week, please. (Note: New teams can have a little longer to do it, as they dont also have to then do renewals aswell)

Will try to get it in later today ;-) Got a trip to the dentist now, then I'll try to get the time to sit down and plan/do it ;-)

Like the new options. I'll have time to sort it all out on Sunday hopefully.

does "Team standing win" goal count as win goal or do I have to pick at least 1 win goal from regular races like last season?

optimistic beagle?? Should get this done after my German speaking questions are written.

Everyone know that I will win this year, so you can just give up that goal Beagle ;-)

ANFreeman
Finished my list, but I'm running through it next to all the race profiles to see how optimistic I'm being...

Probably. Despite the fact that every PT team has to have a Win goal a and GT one, I believe that two of them can be "joined".

untal - hard to say...look at the table, there is 6 point for Win of Team Standings...let´s SN to clarify Smile

Well, I've gone all in. I either have the best season ever or go bankrupt.

I've gone with a very strange win goal, only to get a bigger wage cap. I have no chance of knowing what races I can win, so why not reach for the skies?

Anyway, my goals seems to be 4/5 and with some crashing 3/5 like this season. I have gone with a mid-way budget again also. Hopefully the bonus of getting 3/5 is better than what people get for chosing 1/5 and then selecting a high amount of points this time around. I would like to know how the budgets are allocated from last seasons goals achieved/failed and into this seasons guessings? Cause I fear it could be worth the while to just go for the highest each season, even if I would fail most, rather than going realistic.

I must say i find it pretty hard to decide on goals when only being first year PT.

Does failing to win a monument goal have a bigger impact then failing to win a normal classic? (I presume it does because of the different amount of points, but want to know for sure).

The WIN goal is for Races

Cause I fear it could be worth the while to just go for the highest each season, even if I would fail most, rather than going realistic.

Believe me, it's not worth it. If you go towards the top end of the goals scale, and dont get at least 3 goals, then you should be concerned.

Does failing to win a monument goal have a bigger impact then failing to win a normal classic? (I presume it does because of the different amount of points, but want to know for sure).

Well if you go for goals easy as possible, and fail them all, youll be better off than a team going for goals as hard as possible, and failing them all - so yes failing a classic win is not as bad as failing a monument win

Just a quick question - for CT teams, can we have PT races as part of the Target races? For example, could Vespa have the Giro or Lombardia as a target?

I know there is no guarantee of entry to the PT races so it's taking a risk.

Heine
Seems like Ember is this seasons Kami, will be fun to see if he will do as well as Kami ;-)

I have a good feeling for my goals this season, after 1/5 last season I wanna do well this year
