Vuelta a Burgos Discussion
It's time for the Vuelta a Burgos. This race looks as if it is made for someone like Rein Taaramäe.
He will start as favourite in this HC race in northern Spain. Looking down the start list the most likely challengers to him will be the likes of Riccardo Ricco - recent winner of the Urkiola Igoera ahead of Taaramäe, Manuel Lloret, David Abal and Cadel Evans. You wonder as well whether Jose Alcaron might have ambitions of his own in a race like this?

You scan down to Youtube's team and you have to ask why is one of their decent stage racers here - I mean is the plan to get them to accept a low wage next year or something?
The mountain stage will be tough but I like everyone else am hoping (and thinking too) that Alarcon will be on domestique duty ... then again even on that he usually finishes top five.
Not too many sprinters Trusov is my favourite for the flat ones - kinda hope Arashiro doesn't do great in the opener - he is free to fire on the last stage though . Augustyn should do well on stage two - I hope he can respond to the attacks there he has a happy knack of being at the front of groups.

I need to win it, as simple as that. Probably won't though.

I had the same thought as Smowz, trying to make a super team next year with low wages?
Anyway, hopeing for something good from Kessiakoff I think it's his last race of the season, not 100% sure

The problem with the super team low wage theory is that a huge amount was spent on Pellizotti, so he is unlikely to accept a huge decrease - and his stats will be worse anyway.

Pellizotti could have been a good value, but well, it's Wiggo's masterplan .

Amazing. Nazon is actually a pretty decent sprinter when the stages aren't to hard and he gets a good lead-out. Hope this doesn't screw any leadership issues up though.

Well I asked for Arashiro to take it easy today, quite pleased with Adam Hansen nabbing enough bonuses and sticking with it to have a high GC position, if things are not raced hard he may keep up there.
Nice detailed reporting - bringing a new style to the table fenian (Or returning to the table!)

Never thought I would see Hesjedal perform that well in a sprint, with so many strong riders in it! This is so important, since he will "hopefully" be the the undisputed leader now.
Nice win for Bimbo too, though Yamaha was really unlucky with Evans.. I hope we will see something from the Aussie on the big mountain stage!

Wow, what a performance by Lobato ! A top10 by Rodrigues would be really nice. Winning a stage with this field was already excellent. |

Gah barely visable in that last stage were Red Bull, it does not bode particularly well for that mountain stage.
The TT on stage 3 is not going to be good for us, Abal and Taaramae will look to take as much time from Ricco as possible.
Excellent breakaway win for Lobato!

Although taking time here might have been good, Ricco will lose around 30-40 seconds i think in the TT. Last time Ricco was behind on the final mountain stage, he won it with 2 minutes . I rly hope that happens, although i might see this end bad because of the IKEA duo.
