I started the "Frustration thread" in the 09-forum and it seemed like good way to vent out abit after experiencing some... unfortunate... events. Hopefully this will be as popular as before
I can start:
I was in the TdF with Saxo Bank and with only three stages to go and Andy Schleck had the yellow jersey. Contador was second, about 2:30 behind, so nothing could ruin this for me. But for those of you familiar with "Murphy's Law" you know that nothing is certain...
I was more or less cruising, when tragedy struck! There was a crash within the peloton, arms and legs flying everywhere! (Gotta love the PCM-falls). I looked around and saw some Cervelo here and some Liquigas there, with a bit of Rabobank on top. But... amidst it all... something yellow... it was Andy! He laid there crippled and before he could get back on his bike the gap was more than 3 minutes. I sent down everything I could to get him back up, but it was hopeless... He eventually rolled over the line about 4 minutes behind Contador...
I've never been so full of mercyless rage since the last time I stubbed my toe at night! Damn you, Ikea...I mean, Contador! PCM! |

Lol, had the same happening on a much lower level with Gasper Svab from team Sava in the PPDB.
He was the only possible guy to forfill one of my goals in a smaller stage race.
Goal was top 10 and he was comfortably 5th, more than 2 minutes ahead of number 11.
What happens? After a perfect preparation, where I even thought I was going to fight for stage win.
He falls...
And gives up #%@#%@#%@#%, 2km before the finish line, just before the final hill.

sprinting for the line with cav in pcm 08 ( i know it is an older version but the same problem is yet to appear) and i am 0.1 from the line, big gap, and I go to celebrate.... Suddenly Cav stops, jumps back to the 0.3 point and sprints in celebrating... in 5th position, missing out on the points jersey for the race by 2 points
cant remember what race it was, but i was not happy

Bah, was riding the Polynormande with my custom team (Credit Agricole) and David Herrero was clearly the strongest rider in the peloton. 10km to go, a group of 15 riders remain, Herrero is about to attack, when.....
....you guessed it, he falls over!
I managed to get him up and attack, and he even caught up with the group, but could only finish 7th in the end! |

When the guy sent for bottles decides to drop out of the back of the peleton for no apparent reason.. especially if it happens at a critical moment. |

Tony Martin is in a breakaway in Tireno stage 6, he has the KOM jersey and a provisional lead by more than 2 minutes with 10km to go. But that wasn't enough, I want the stage win: he attacks the leading group, goes in front by ~30 seconds, and to ensure the stage win I click the sprint button to maintain the high speed. 0.6 km to go there is a right hand turn and there he falls like thunderstruck. Not only did he fail to win the stage and the overall+KOM with 1 stage to go, he dropped out with a fractured vertebrae and had a return date set in early July.
If offense is the best defence, does it mean that defence is the worst defence?
If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord will delete my browser history.

Well i just seem to suck at mountain stages, I really enjoy riding those. But everytime at the most important moments my leaders can not follow and lose a couple of minutes in the sprints.
I finished my Giro 2010 with Richie Porte and Larsson only on 19th and 27th position (both fitness levels above 90) . And now in Le Dauphine Liberé exactly the same thing is happening. Larsson is only 22nd half way through.
Ofcourse these men aren't my true leaders from the Saxo team, but it's getting frustrating that none of those riders can seem to sprint for a victory. |

What does my heading the most is when I have a rider in the breakaway and my rider does most of work that keeps the break away, then he other breakaway riders jump my rider at the end of the stage

prologue of paris-nice
i put riblon on 99% so he get the first mountain jersey (that was checkpoint one)
when he reached the finish he was catched by 2 man.. willems and pozzato... in a 8 km longue prologue +2'46
and at the end ... he was second at checkpoint one.. so he has a bad classification and no mountain jersey

So you play with my newest stage?
I haven`t found another one with a KoM sprint there.
I reached the jersey with Elmiger. I think it was 80-85%, with 99% he would have lost all his energy before the KoM. I finished about 50th but wearing ne jersey |

Lost the Catalunya with Millar (71mo 73hi) on hard just because Kirchen won 1 stage and got bonus seconds ;( Had the jersey with 17 sec after TT. Then 2nd with +3s -.-
95 fitness, so Vandevelde and Zabriskie with 75 fitness had no chances against Millar. |
