About the team...
The team was created back in 2011, where the famous football team F.C Internazionale together with tyre company Pirelli provided the funds for Rycadinho to create a good team for the continental tour. After a decent first season, ending as 20 in the standings, lead by profiles as José Serpa, Alberto Loddo and Ryder Hesjedal did Inter decide to pull out their sponsorship for the next season together with Nike, Specialized and Giro all companies that payed a bit of money to leave the cycling project. Car company Alfa Romeo owned by Fiat, decided to fill the gap and suddenly was the team sponsored by only Italian companies. This won't affect Rycadinhos friendly minded view on foreigner riders, though a strong Italian base is a must.

First information about the new Continental team Pirelli – Internazionale Cycling Team.
It is with great pleasure that I can provide with you some information about how this new cycling team will try to establish itself to the Continental tour.
We will try to get the best of the best - no matter what nationalities. The goal for this team is to be part of the Protour after three seasons. The team should until then have the squad to get a promotion and together with our sponsors will it not be impossible goal to reach. The most important thing for the team is to complete the goals our sponsors will demand from us, but we are not that far with the team, that me and the sponsors are negotiating the season goals yet…
The team likes to be compared to our "mother club" the football team F.C Internazionale and our ideals are very much the same. As mentioned then I will try get the best available riders to race for us and they don't have to be Italians. We would prefer to have a squad with some strong stage racers and perhaps a sprinter or two - but a balanced squad can be required if we are going to establish us early in the new season.
Even through our goal as mentioned is that we are a part of the protour in three seasons, then we might go for it if we got a strong enough roster to do it. I won’t say now that we will only focus on “learning” being a part of the cycling world because that’s a lack of ambitions. There are many examples for teams that have in there maiden season managed to get the promotion already in the first season, but it all depends on many factors. There will be a hard competition this year to finish even in top 10 in the Continental tour and you really need some luck to do this especially as one of the new boys in the school…
Italian races will of course be a big priority for us to do well in, but the goals our sponsors demand us to do with success, will have top priority since it will affect our budget for the next season. Our main sponsor Pirelli is Italian and since we are under the football club F.C Internazionale is it important that we can reach the Italian people through some great results. We have a three year deal with Pirelli, Specialized and Nike but we are only under the wings of F.C Internazionale for one year. That’s simply because Massimo Moratti have given us the chance to be a independent company for the next year, but being under the football club gives us some great benefits. The team will be recognised from all over the world – because the F.C Internazionale is a big brand.
If the team is going to be named Pirelli - ? Cycling team next year is something that is unclear but I’m looking forward to take this new found team up to the top of the cycle sport.
- Manager Rycadinho

Presentation of the 2011 shirt created by Will007
I’m very happy to inform that the brilliant shirt maker Will007 was able to produce another masterpiece. The shirt for the new team will surely be a hit since it’s just as beautiful compared to the football shirt of F.C Internazionale. The only big difference between the football version and the version my team will be racing in is that the logo of Specialized will be part of the Pirelli – Internazionale Cycling Team shirt. Our fans will defiantly be very happy about the work of Will007 and we hope that the team will celebrate many great results with this great shirt.
The shirt itself is as mentioned being very identically of the one the football team is playing in. The combined use of the black and blue colours gives a outstanding result. Pirelli as our main sponsor will be in the middle of the shirt, while the logo of the company we are under right now, F.C Internazionale and our shirt sponsor Nike is at the top of the shirt.
The shirt can also be seen in the history section in the HQ.

Official: Pirelli - Internazionale have equipment ready for the new season
That's right! After being negotiating with some companies who all are among the best in providing cycling equipment did I find two new sponsors who will provide us with Helms and Wheels. Since Specialized already have supported us with frames for the bikes - then we still had to find someone who could give us the best conditions for helm and Wheel making.
The famous company in world cycling Giro will provide the team with helms while Campagnolo, the wheel manufacture, will give us a edge over some of our competitors in the upcoming season!
Today did manager Rycadinho also tell the La Gazzetta dello Sport that the goals for the next season have been sent to the cycling union. That means the goals will come very soon on the HQ section and maybe already today!

Announcement: The goals and the budget for the next season are confirmed
That means the team will be needing some quality climbers/stage racers if the season is going to end with success. Already in January will the first goal of the season be found in the HC race Tour de San Luis. It's a race that's suited for climbers, but the sprinters will also have something to say in this important Argentine race. The team will be fighting for a top 5 GC result here, but we really need a strong rider to accomplish this.
March will be a crucial month since the team got to try complete not one but two goals! Tour of Langkawi will a top 5 result in the GC be needed. Langkawi is another race that's suited for stage racers and already now are there many other teams who wants to do well in this HC race. That means we will face some hard competition and we will both need skill and luck to get another positive result out from Malaysia.
We "only" have one must win goal but that will be to win the classic stage race Giro del Trentino! It's the only race in Italy that we are required to really do a strong performance in, so that means this race will be taken very seriously.
Our final goal of the season, when it comes to races, is to get yet another top 5 overall result. This will be needed in the HC Europe race Volta a Portugal where our best stage riders will have to do the best to end in the top 5.
The team have a strong future and our sponsors have decided to give us a budget that can help us finish in top 10 of the continental tour as well. That's our last goal for the upcoming season.
The budget for the season is at 3.500.000€ and even though it gives us a good economic starting ground, then the money will be spend wisely. Since our target is to find minimum two great stage racers, then it will be important to have at least 18 other talented riders who can be of use for the team. I can already say that the team will be open for loan deals but the best thing would be to sign some great riders, be under the salary cap and not be dependent on perhaps getting a strong rider through a loan deal.

The transfer season has begun!
It's a busy period for me but the start of the transfer window has been very positive for the team! We have already secured two strong riders, both will be presented soon, and we are also fighting for some other strong riders. The team is focusing getting a strong climber who can challenge for the continental stage races but main priority is to find lots of riders with a wage under 70.000! The team is open for any loan deal that suits the team, especially if the wages are low and we are also open for some transfers.
Just PM me and I'm sure we can find something out - one way or another.

Pirelli-Internazionale goes Italian!
After a hard period of negotiating and of course persuading riders to join the new Italian continental team Pirelli-Internazionale have come to fruit. Even though team m codex says that we are just as much interested in having foreigners in our team – than Italians, then the 20 riders who are ready for us are there 13 Italians! I have found the team a very fast man for the mass sprints and the name of this experienced rider is Alberto Loddo. Alberto has always been a man who can challenge for good results in mass sprint finishes and I’m very delighted to have such a good rider on the team.
Alberto Loddo will be a important part for us with his strong sprinter abilities
Loddo is not the only strong Italian rider we have on the team so far and I’m very happy that two veterans Paolini and Tiralongo will be driving in the blue and black jersey! A man for the breakaways and hilly races will be Lorenzo Bernucci who is a rider I have always been a fan of. Lorenzo is a true fighter, who I think will be able to make some spectacular performances during the season.
Lorenzo Bernucci will be looking to make ravage in every terrain!
The foreigners of the team are also a interesting bunch of experienced riders. I was incredible happy to bring Ryder Hesjedal to the team for a small transfer fee. The Canadian is a very good climber and he will be important to help the team achieve some of this seasons goals. Another strong climber was also brought to the team through a small transfer fee. The name is Dupont – Hubert Dupont and our only French rider will like Hesjedal be very important in stage races where some hard mountains will be on the route. A former winner of a Tour de France stage up to the legendary Alpe d’ Huez, Iban Mayo, will also be part of Pirelli-Internazionale for the new season. Finally can I present the only African rider on the team but what a rider! The 29 year old Kenyan Zakayo Ndbri is a incredible strong climber with a stamina that makes you wonder how he after a hard mountain stage can look like he could ride it all over again!
If there is a rider who love mountains then it’s Zakayo Ndbri!
The team is 95 % completed because even though we have a very strong roster, then I’m looking for a strong GC contender who will be our best bet to accomplish the sponsor goals. I’m very close on finishing a deal with a popular Italian rider but nothing is 100 % secure yet. The transfer period has been full of ups and downs but I’m really feeling satisfied with the riders we have managed to get for some decent prices. There will be more news and especially if there is a new signing ready for the team!

Official: Ivan Basso signs for Pirelli-Internazionale Cycling team.
It’s a great feeling that one of the most successful and popular Italian riders can be found in our team for the new season. Ivan was one of our main targets under the transfer season and even though we faced some hard competition, from especially UniCredit Pro Cycling Team, then we managed to persuade Ivan to join us. Basso is perhaps not the same rider who managed to drive some amazing Giro d’ Italia' and Tour de France's, but he is still a strong stage racer. Ivan will be our vice captain and I’m feeling confident that Basso will be able to show some of his best sides in the upcoming season.

Pirelli-Internazionale ends transfer season in style
After the signing of Basso was the roster for the next season almost complete but I still had a feeling that we needed something extra so we can be able to challenge for a possible top 10 in the CT ranking this season. José Serpa is the man who will be our Captain for the new season! José is among the very best climbers in the world but after a pretty disappointing year with American Suzuki did he end without a contract. Many teams, including Pirelli-Internazionale, were suddenly after the strong Columbian but after some hefty negotiating did he choose our team. Serpa is destined to conquer the continental tour this season and I’m confident that our 32 aged star can live with the high expectations.
Serpa will be looking for a positive season
Surprisingly enough did we also decide to increase the roster from 22 riders to 25 riders. The two South African riders Tiaan Kannemeyer and James Lewis Perry had been putted up for sale by their manager Deadpool. Pirelli-Internazionale saw a good deal in paying just over 100.000 euro’s for the two riders. Kannemeyer is a decent climber who likes to try his luck in breakaways and Perry gives the team a new dimension with his good time trial abilities. Our last signing was also our third loan deal. We have a great relationship to Team Wikipedia something that gave us the chance to loan two youngsters for free. The manager of Wikipedia contacted the team to hear if we perhaps were interested in making one final loan deal. The rider who will be on the team for free this season is the talented Nick Kinney. Kinney will be a great help for Loddo and especially good in flat terrain. It have been a very good period and I’m feeling satisfied with the good riders we managed to bring into the team. Now will we be preparing for the first race of the season and sort out the races the team will be anticipating in.

Official: Gianluca Cavalli sacked from Pirelli-Internazionale.
It is with a very bad taste in my mouth that I must inform you all that the team had to sack one of our riders because this man didn't seem to take the team very seriously. It might seem harsh that Cavalli already had to get the chop but let me say it like this; We don't tolerate people who prefer to go out and get drunk instead of being a professional sportsman, who is respecting his contract and the rules of the team. I wish Cavalli good luck in the future and I hope he will find a team before the transfer season ends.
Cavalli will be looking for a new team, after problems with respecting his contract and duties, as a professional rider in team Pirelli-Internazionale

First stage win for Pirelli-Internazionale
That's right! After a promising start to the HC stage race Tour de San Luis did our captain José Serpa take a brilliant stage victory in the 4. stage of the race. It was a very surprising win, since the profile of the stage didn't really suit him but he always seemed to be the strongest rider on the final climb. José is now fighting for the overall victory of the race but it's not all about him since Iban Mayo managed to take a great 5. place at the same stage!

January over - Serpa gives the team a good start in February
After a very invisible performance by the team in the African HC race Bloemfontein Classic, where we a lot stronger in the HC stage race Tour de San Luis. San Luis was one of the main goals for the season and with a strong team leaded by José Serpa, was the expectations sky high. Nozal, Basso and especially Iban Mayo did a great job to help Serpa to win one stage and end at the podium, as third. Mayo ended just outside top 10 and both him and Basso managed to show that they are still able to stay with the best. Next race for the team is the french stage race Tour Meditteranee where we hope Hesjedal can produce a good overall result. In Giro di Sardegna, will we clinch our hopes to Loddo and Bernucci.

Tour Meditteraneen
The team who was going to represent us in this French HC race, was going to be leaded by the Canadian road champion Hesjedal and the experienced sprinter, Alberto Loddo. Unfortunately where both of them disappointing in the race, but luckily enough were their others to save the race for the team. James Lewis Perry, Luca Paolini and Lorenzo Bernucci all managed to get a top 10 spot in one or more stages, and especially Bernuccis performances was top class. We really need him to be 100 % fit for Sardegna, since Loddo seems to be struggling so early in the season.
Paolini sprinting for the victory at the third stage of the race
Hesjedal tried to get away in a breakaway on the final stage of the race, but he didn't have enough energy to do so and ended many minutes after the winner of the prestige full stage to Mont Faron and overall winner of the race, Monfort. As mentioned will Bernucci lead the team in Giro di Sardegna and we hope that he perhaps can produce an good overall result + getting top 10 stage spots. I'm not too sure if Alberto can "finally" manage to challenge the fastest guys in the peloton, but he can only do better than he did in Meditteraneen.
