Selwink
@MrUfo: He was pretty much rock solid in the GC anyway. A victory therefore is a nice reward for good riding.
@Ollfardh: Indeed!
@krisa: Especially in this field.
@sutty: Unexpectedly strong.
@nacho: It's very nice indeed!
@hoyle: Hopefully not the last.

Race profiles

Stage 1
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1439_zpsf7c92133.jpg
Stage 1 is a flat stage, which can mean only 1 thing: it's for sprinters.

report

Stage 2
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/PCM1454_zps2521d976.jpg
Although there are some hills in the middle of the stage it seems the best suited for the sprinters again.

report

Stage 3
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1441_zpsd3334909.jpg
The first stage that isn't for the sprinters, unless they can survive hills. A puncher or a break seems most likely to win.

report

Stage 4
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1442_zps3b51e4c5.jpg
The last chance for the sprinters is today. Despite the hill in the middle it is almost fully flat, which is a nice chance for the sprinters.

report

Stage 5
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1443_zps95c4c17d.jpg
The queen stage of the Tour d'Alsace is one for the climbers. After climbing the highest mountain of the Alsace it's only a short downhill to the finish.

report

Stage 6
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1444_zpsadccbc3c.jpg
The final stage seems one for the escapees. That said, a GC-rider might want to shake up and gain some time. This seems unlikely though.

report

Our squad
Armin Berg-Hansen is mainly here for the flat stages, as support for our sprinter.
Peter de Groote will ride his last race for the development team here. A break seems a good way to end his period here.
Jonas Ek is here as support everywhere except the mountain stage.
Joep Gouda is leader here. After a good race in the Valle d'Aosta he hopes to continue his shape here.
Heiko Kalichmann is support material for the hillier stages, although he might go in a break as well.
Timothy Raue is here to provide more support in the mountains. After disappointing in Italy he's a key domestique here.
Ásgeirr Silferberg is here for support/break as well.
Djaja Susanto has three opportunities here, being awarded the role of sprinter here.

A break of 3 is formed quickly.

The break gets reeled in with 10kms to go.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1447_zpsb279911f.jpg

With 7kms to go a big group gets dropped. Among the riders are Vachon and Milán.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1448_zps5cb2224f.jpg

With 4kms to go Djaja is in a luxurious position.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1449_zpsdcd2792d.jpg

With 2kms to go though Coquard has been dragged to the front.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1450_zpsbf991f9a.jpg

With 1km to go Coquard passes Hurel.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1451_zps0169d34b.jpg

In the last 500 meters Djaja comes forward, but is it enough to pass Coquard?
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1452_zps1b6f5647.jpg

i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1453_zpse10ddf2f.jpg
It isn't. Coquard wins, ahead of Hurel. Djaja makes it a very good podium.

The Rider
Couldn't have asked for much better with a podium there, great going. Smile

About the mountain stages: it is some lineup in the Alsace but I reckon Gouda might be able to be there or thereabouts in the mountains if he is still in shape after Italy.

nacho63
Encouraging signs for the team to see them run Coquard that close and Armin managed to hang on to a top 10!

sutty68
Nice start with two guys in the top ten Smile

Selwink
@hoyle: It was good already, now we should keep it up.
@The Rider: Joep should be able to do well. From what I've seen is that Acevedo and Pauriol aren't in good shape, which narrows out the field.
@nacho: It's a shame that the finish line wasn't a bit further Frown
@sutty: With one of them on the podium you can call it a good start indeed!
@all: Since the stage is bugged, I've replaced it with the 2012 stage 5. Profiles have been updated.

Race report

After a long while a break forms, with Peter in it. Talabardon is closing in, yet missing on the screen.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1455_zps1535db11.jpg

The hills get too much for Peter, so he drops back to the pack.

With 25kms to go though all have been reeled in.

Race report

5 riders form the break of today.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1478_zps7337c482.jpg

At the first cat.1 climb, Golcer, Parra and Eibegger try to catch up.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1479_zps80782649.jpg

However, due to the presence of some dangerous riders the break gets pulled back with 40kms to go.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1480_zps0d0cb989.jpg

When we hit the steep part of the Grand Ballon we have one leader, Vuillermoz, followed by a pack of 40 riders, where riders like Bagot and Levarlet are dropped.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1481_zps1aa63b7f.jpg

With 13kms to go, 7kms from the top, Navarro attacks, immediately leaving Vuillermoz behind.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1482_zps44d790cd.jpg

Navarro reaches the summit first, ahead of Arredondo, Kvasina and Joep.

After Arredondo and Kvasina completing the podium Joep comes 4th. No gap given to the no.5 is a disgrace though.
