@sutty: The team is doing excellent, we're extremely high now!
@Ollfardh: Luckily we'll be continental next year as well.
@MrUfo: I think it wasn't even our best month
DEVELOPMENT TEAM SAFE AS WELL
After ING already secured the future of Vacansoleil the development team for Vacansoleil that was founded this year, Projob-Odfjell, has also managed to secure its future with two sponsor announcements. After earlier on the press announced retirement of Odfjell, it has now changed its mind and prolonged its contract by one year, to check on the collaboration with ING as sponsors. Furthermore, the Belgian company Ecover also announced a one-year contract with the development team lead by Selwink.
Ecover isn't a very known company outside Belgium, but by engaging a partnership with a Dutch team and a Norwegian sponsor it hopes to gain some more interest from outside Belgium. Odfjell already has some months experience in cycling though, which apparently turned out very well for the Norwegian company.

@nacho: Not like they've ever really been down
@nacho: Not like they've ever really been down
@the_hoyle: It was pleasant news for us. But with these results it was quite deserved.
@sutty: Combine that with the main team secure as well and everything is back on track
NEW APPLICATIONS
Due to the departure of Johnnie Flodder and Peter de Groote there will be some vacant spots in Projob-Odfjell. Odfjell has also decided to increase its budget a little to ensure there will be more spaces. As the team will consist of 18 riders as of the 1st of August, 4 spots will be vacant. Ecover has already decided to make some sponsor demands, as two young Belgians are required for the team. Furthermore, at least one more Dutchman is obliged as well. The final spot is of free choice.
Spoiler Rules for participation:
The year of birth for a rider may vary from 1994 to 1995. The maximum stat for a rider from 1994 is 66, while a rider from 1995 has 64 as max stat. Anyone who doesn't have a rider in the team, so also those who used to have one, can join.
To participate, post in this thread the following information.
Name:
Date of Birth (DD-MM-YY):
Length and weight (cm&kg):
Nationality (and region if applicable):
Specialty:
Highest stat:
Short biography:
After posting you send me a PM with 1 number, the first to vary from 1 to 26. I will respond with a PM with two other stats. You respond with the stat you want to have second-highest (1 lower than highest) and 3rd highest (2 lower than max), plus with 2 numbers varying from 1 to 5. Obviously make sure your highest stat is either secondary or suits with your specialty, so no HI as highest stat for a time trialist. In the last PM you also send your two peak races, which have to be .2 races included in the Exp. Pack. If you want a list, please request that in the FIRST PM
As there might be some extra additions to the story, it's important you are relatively active (at least once per week approximately). If you are on a break, it would be nice if I knew about that as well. Spots will be handed out on the base of first come, first serve.

Wait a minute, I've been out of rotation for a while here. Where is Peter going?
EDIT: Wait, found it. Hooray, way to go for Peter, going to a nice team next year will you be keeping an eye on him or is he going out of the story completely?

edit: I've designed post #3 for former team riders. Since there aren't any yet, I thought I'd use it for the latest monthly overview

Name: Kees Flodder
Date of Birth (DD-MM-YY): 30-11-94
Length and weight (cm&kg): 172-63
Nationality (and region if applicable): NED
Specialty: Hilly sprinter
Highest stat: SP
Short biography: Kees is the younger brother of Johnnie, but not nearly as good yet. Still, his potential and his brother's good first year might earn him a spot on the team. He's not as fast as his brother, not even close, but unlike Johnnie he can survive a few bumps in the road. A short hill or even a medium mountain summit 20km off the finish might drop other fast men, but not Kees. He'll be there to content the sprint. On
a flat stage, he can be a part of the leadout train or try his luck in a breakaway. On a time trial, well, let's say he would be best at polishing the bikes of the other riders. Cobbles aren't his favourite thing either, but he can survive a short section
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

That leaves us with one spot. The rider to be created has to be Belgian.

There's still one spot open. If anyone wants to join, it's still possible. However, I am going to continue the story now.
Our squad
Armin Berg-Hansen is likely to be used for the sprint train.
Jonas Ek seems likely to have the same role.
Kristian Hammarling is our absolute leader for today, being the best sprinter on our squad here.
Simon Holt is also likely to be a domestique here. He'll probably be placed somewhere in the sprint train.
Khieu Tet Khamphan is another rider for the sprint train.
Taeke Roorda makes the sprint train yet another bit stronger.
Ásgeirr Silferberg also is here for labour. This could become something very strong.
Djaja Susanto will be Kristians lead-out for the mass sprint.
Favourites
***** | Juan José Haedo | **** | Ken Hanson | *** | Giorgio Brambilla | ** | Fabio Silvestre | * | Rick Zabel |
Startlist
Horrible rain, hard wind and an extremely high pace cause trouble today. Not a single break manages to get over a minute.
Eventually a break of 7 gets 2min30 max.
However, with 30kms to go that break is over as well.
Pederson is the only rider in front with 10kms to go.
With 5kms to go Pedersen still has a good gap.
Simon leads out Kristian, although it seems only for 3rd place.
At the line
Pedersen holds off Mortensen.
Kristian wins the sprint for third with ease.
