Not bad results at the Nationals.. 2 champion jerseys for the team, that´s great. ... even when that coin had 2 "heads"

@baia: I was fair and honest with the coin toss. If I wasn't then Ludvigsson would have won it as well

Beaumont Trophy
30th June 2013
The final race of June also happens to be the first race after the National Championship.
Extending our lead in the standings is the main aim, but coming away with a good result would be nice as well.
Fresh from his podium in Keswick, Adam Yates will be the leader on the road, with a high result his aim.
He will be supported by Trent Lowe and Fredrik Ludvigsson, whilst Damien Monier will work as domestique. Rasmus Quaade will also protect Yates, whilst Jonny Bellis and Owain Doull will play a free role.
Sponsor Goal: N/A
Team Goal: Top 3
Riccardo Zoidl (RWS) took the victory in the Beaumont Trophy, outsprinting Adam Yates to steal the win. Yates looked a good bet for the victory, after an attack with 24km to the finish, but a powerful ride from Zoidl to stop across the gap was enough to take the win in the process.
Francisco Pacheco (CWO) rounded off the podium, crossing the line 1'12" after the front pair.
It was a good day for Rapha-Bianchi all around, as a weakened British Domestic peleton finished poorly, as the ProCont team took most of the Premier Calendar points share.

Great result for Yates, shame he couldn't take the win.
Premier Series doesn't really work with PCM, but the team got a nice lead. |

@maxime: the team took 41points in that last race... My idea of a points scoring competition might have been badly thought out
@mvh: Yates was tired and just couldn't sprint... Yes, the competition does not work with the way I planned it. I should have only given points to the first 3 riders from each team, like the Tour Series works in real life

Another close finish there. Yates should be disappointed with himself now.
Next time he will win it, I'm sure. |

Retention before Addition for Rapha-Bianchi
Rapha-Bianchi Racing Team today announced that Linus Gerdemann has extended his contract with the team.
A Silver medallist at the recent National TT Championships, the experienced German has signed a new 2 year contract, changing his role to Team-mate and taking a small pay decrease in the process.
Phil Hoyle seems to be on a bit of a high with the team at the moment, after new sponsorships for the team were announced last week, and will be hoping to add to the team when the period to discuss 2014 contracts opens tomorrow.

June Review - WorldTour Results
The Giro d'Italia is out the way, but now it is the build up to the 100th edition of Le Tour de France. With only two WorldTour races in June, it looked set to the battle ground for the GC big hitters.
Criterium du Dauphine
As history goes, the winner of the Criterium du Dauphine normally goes on to win Le Tour. Is this the sign of another British winner on the Champs Elysees, as Chris Froome (SKY) took the win in France. Joaquim Rodriguez (KAT) took second with Bauke Mollema (BEL) completing the podium.

Tour de Suisse
Whilst Froome was showing his Grand Tour prowess in France, Alejandro Valverde (MOV) was showing how to grind out the win in Switzerland. The Spanish rider just won the GC, ahead of Chris Horner (RLT) and Daniel Moreno (KAT).

*** TRANSFER NEWS ***
Hoyle: Building for next year... And beyond!
Contract discussions for 2014 are only just getting underway for most teams, but already Rapha-Bianchi are announcing their new signings for next season.
As expected, the signings are Italian, and come in the form of Eros Capecchi, Sonny Colbrelli and Moreno Moser.
Seen as magnificent additions for the 2014 season, team manager Phil Hoyle could not hide his delight as an announcement was made this morning in Milan.
With many targets in the sights of Hoyle, he will be looking to add further to the team as the month progresses.

Nice signings. Should strengthen the team up a bit.
But if the rankings doesn't change during the season, Phil will probably need to sign some more and even better riders. |
