Tallinn-Tartu Grand Prix
30th May 2013
Normally, having two squads racing in the same country at the same time is not a strange thing, but when both are in Estonia, it really is.
Whilst one team starts today in Viimsi for the 4-day Tour of Estonia, we have another in the capital, Tallinn, for the Tallinn-Tartu Grand Prix.
A completely flat stage, it could either end two ways, either in a bunch sprint, or with the day's breakaway somehow staying off the front to contest the win. With a muchly weakened startlist, this could either way.
Jonny Bellis will be the main man for the sprints, where his lead out will consist of Owain Doull, Fredrik Ludvigsson and Damien Monier.
Linus Gerdemann will also help with early lead-out duties, whilst Dan Lloyd, Trent Lowe and Dan Fleeman will work for the team.

Team Goal: Top 5
Gregor Gazvoda (Champion Systems) fought off the peleton to take the victory in Tartu. The Slovenian rider was part of the day's main breakaway, as the big teams of peleton mistimed their capture.
David Boily (Amore) took 2nd place, with Andrea Di Corrado (Bardiani) in 3rd. Matteo Trentin won the bunch sprint of the main peleton, whilst Dan Fleeman was the best Rapha finisher in 15th after a day in the breakaway.

@mvh: The position of the car was not the best... there was some strong words from the organisers about that! 5th is a good result for Monier though
Nibali had it in the bag until he cracked on the Tre Cime stage. Lost 5 mins to Froome!
I miscalculated the start of the transfer season... It is July, not June

Tour of Estonia
30th May - 2nd June 2013
The 4-day Tour of Estonia greets the riders, who will be looking for a good result to start June after a quiet month of May.
Rene Mandri will lead the team in his home country, where flat, sprinter-type stages dominate the course. With Lavery injured, Ewan unfit and Bellis racing at the Tallinn-Tartu GP, his lead out is not as strong as it could be.
Simon Yates and Damien Howson will be the main riders for the lead out, whilst Rasmus Quaade will be the man to target the ITT on stage 2.
Tom Southam and Simon Richardson will play a free role, looking at being part of the day's break on each stage.
Nathan Earle and Remy Di Gregorio complete the team, and they will work for the team, building fitness for future races.

Team Goal: Stage Win / Top 5 GC
Stage 1
Stage 2
Stage 3
Stage 4
Stage 1 (Viimsi-Viimsi -- 123.6km): Stage 1 was a day for the breakaway, Yelko Gomez (CJR) soloed to the victory. Tom Southam came home 5th on the stage, as Rene won the bunch sprint of the peleton for 6th.
Stage 2 (Tallinn ITT -- 3km): Rohan Dennis (GRS) was the fastest in the short ITT around the old town of Tallinn. Brett Lancaster (OGE) and Travis Meyer (OGE) made it an all-Australian podium. Rasmus Quaade finished 11" down on Dennis in 6th. Gomez held onto Yellow, as Tom would move up to 3rd on GC
Stage 3 (Tallinn-Tartu -- 198.0km): Brett Lancaster went one better than stage 2, taking the victory on a stage almost identical to the Tallinn-Tartu GP a few days ago. Rene would make it another 6th place for the team, as Sebastian Chavanel (EUC) and Rathe (GRS) completed the podium. The GC remains unchanged.
Stage 4 (Tartu-Tartu -- 187.0km): Alex Rasmussen (GRS) showed his class to win on a very windy final stage around the outskirts of Tartu. Chavanel took 2nd place for the second stage running, with Lancaster again taking another podium finish. With Tom in 3rd on GC, the stage win was put on the back burner, as he became a priority. Rene would finish the stage in 42nd.

Great result from Tom, must have been a few minutes for the break on stage 1.
Some nice stage results too. |

@mvh: not many races in June, so shouldn't be too long to see who we can sign for next season the gap to the break on stage 1 was over 4 minutes! No one chased until Rapha set the pace... without that it would have been over 15minutes
@sutty: 15th for Fleeman was a good result. If he could sprint, it would have been much better. He just went backwards when it started... Tom was superb in ToE

World Tour races count towards the CQ-ranking, so it is not strange to see the team still leading the Continental Tour, after some strong performances in May. |

Does the promotion go off the continental ranking or cq ranking at the end of the season? I would check in game but I am without my laptop until at least tomorrow
