Well I could look up anyone that ends up with 75+ in any important stat because I maxed out all of them, but I spent so much time with that edited DB I know most of them by heart now

Yeah, had quite some fun with it mysefl, especially with the top talents comparing them. The Spaniards were less intresting as they were not becoming anything special..

After a day full of negotiations over different riders we can now turn our attentions to unveiling rider number 12. And here he is, Nino Schurter. The 27 year old Swiss rider signed for us yesterday and will head up our team of punchers and will enjoy great support from Kim Kirchen.
This leaves us with 3 open spaces and needing 2 leaders, It's hard to say whether we will be able to sign the right riders to fill those roles but we are currently in negotiations with a few guys about joining our roster and we will be leaving you to speculate on who you think will be filling those last few spots.

Rumour has it that one of the recent signings has already had a major falling out with the Sauber team and will be on his way out the door without having turned a competitive wheel. there isn't any news yet as to who it is but we have narrowed it down to a 3 rider shortlist.
If sources are to be believed it's either Riccardo Zoidl, Kim Kirchen or Samai Samai. All 3 could have good reasons for leaving and we will analyse the reasons why all 3 of them could be on their way out, Starting off with Zoidl.
Everyone connected to cycling is aware that Zoidl signed hoping to be given a chance to shine with a CT team on the understanding that he would be Loaned to the PT to help him maximise his Potential, with no PT teams seemingly interested in a Loan deal for him he seems to be getting disgruntled. It's rumoured that he had this loan written in as a clause in his contract and as it looks more and more unlikely that he will get his loan he could well be considering sueing for breach of contract and walking away from his new team.
The second rider that could be about to leave is Kirchen. According to our sources he is "seriously considering his position in the team" after the signing of Nino Schurter. Apparantly he was told upon signing his contract that although they plan to use him as support for Schurter in some races they will mainly have seperate calenders this season and he will be able to lead the team at some races. However recent reports that have leaked from Malaysia suggest the team's calender requires him to be a domestique far more then we would like and that he wants to leave for a team that will give him the role he feels he deserves.
Meanwhile reports from Switzerland state that the team is unhappy with Samai Samai's performance in preseason training, stating that whilst he's still got the top end speed, at 33 years of age he is now seriously struggling to keep with the team on training rides and that he isn't the rider he was portayed as by his representatives. He could well find himself out the door and out of a job as rumour has it the team are considering sacking him and bringing in a younger rider that they can develop.

Today we can officially announce the signing of rider number 13 the Iranian Hossein Alizadeh. This 25 year old comes in to lead our Mountain team and is excited to be riding for a team that is focussing its calendar on Asian races. Hossein is also really excited by the prospect of leading the team and will be looking to make the most of the support from faithful domestiques Rusli and Jiriakov.
This signing also gives us the chance to announce our 4th Goal for the season, one that we expect Alizadeh to complete, to top 10 the Jelajah Malaysia. This 6 day tour has 3 Mountain stages for him to shine on and is in the home country of one of our sponsors. Also our chances of getting a top 10 in this race are improved because Rusli will be looking to impress on home turf and the climber could well go into the race as a co-leader or at the very least he will be a super domestique for Alizadeh.

We finished off our transfer season with 15 riders. The first new rider was brought in as part of a swap deal with Allianz BMW which saw Kim Kirchen Leave our squad and us bringing in Malaysian Sprinter Azizulhasni Awang. The 25 year old will be our leader in the sprints and has fellow countryman Haidar Anuawar there to set him up.
Our next piece of business was to keep our promise to Riccardo Zoidl of letting him go out on loan and he subsequently joined Vesuvio Accumalux for the season. He's looking forward to this move knowing that he will get to ride a GT this season and he hopes to realise his potential by the end of the loan spell and come back to us next year at his peak.
This left us with 3 spaces left to fill in our squad and we decided that the first of those should be taken by Benedikt Mundle, We are hoping this inexperienced 22 year old Liechtensteinian Fighter will be able to get in a few breaks this year and get more and more aggressive as he improves over the years.
The next signing was of 27 year old Alireza Ashgarzadeh. The Iranian rider has come in to take over the job that Kirchen vacated as Schurter's top domestique in the hilly races.
And the final rider to go either in or out of the Sauber Petronas door ahead of the 2013 season is Gregory Hugentobler. The management decided to take a punt on the 22 Swiss all-rounder and there are quite a few options on how he could develop with him already showing signs of being an aggressive rider, especially on the cobbles and he possesses a strong kick. However he's also quite good on anything hilly, flat or downhill so there are quite a few paths his development could take and we will be monitoring him closely throughout the year to try and figure out which one would be best for both the rider and the team.
So now we have had the initial press releases for all our rider's however this is far from the end of our preseason news because we are still to reveal the national champions jerseys for those on our team lucky enough to have one and we are planning to release an article summarising the team in the near future. And don't forget that we are still putting the finishing touches to our calendar and will be bringing you news of that before our first race.

National Champions Jersey’s
We’ve had these hidden away for a while and now the guys have had a chance to fly out here to our HQ and try them on for size we can now officially reveal them to you all.
There are only 3 riders on our squad that won National honours last year, these being Samai Samai, Azizulhasni Awang and Dimitri Jiriakov. This means we needed Indonesian, Malaysian and Liechtensteinian National jersey’s designed for them.
The First jersey on show today is Samai Samai’s. The Indonesian Road and TimeTrial champion:
The second jersey belongs to Azizulhasni Awang and he will be wearing it in any Time Trial’s he takes part in:

The recent Bay Classic Criterium Series gave 3 of our riders a chance to test themselves against the locals in some friendly preseason competition. Awang, Haidar Anuawar and Salleh all enjoyed the experience of racing in Oz with a mixed bag of results.
The 4 race series was hotly contested and ended up being convincingly won by Chris Sutton of Risa Ergon Cycling who bagged 3 of the 4 stages in the process.
The first race of the series really didn’t go to plan for the 3 Sauber riders who were riding the series for Terengganu Pro-Asia as part of an all Malaysian team. They couldn’t find very good positioning for the sprint and ended up occupying positions 27, 29 and 34 over the finish line.
The second race went better for the team with Haidar Anuawar Bagging 7th over the line and Awang just behind him securing 10th place.
The third stage was a hilly one and none of the 3 Sauber riders stood a chance and saved their energy for the final stage. This plan worked out well for Haidar Anuawar as he again claimed a top 10 pace in the sprint by finishing in 8th and Awang took 15th in the final sprint of the series. This result meant that Haidar Anuawar finished 12th on the overall standings and took the place of top Malaysian in the overall rankings.

Tour Down Under Stage 1 - First Race Of The Season
Today saw the first competitive outing for the team in the first stage of the Tour Down Under. And straight from the gun we were showcasing the colours of our team with Benedikt Mundle joining an early attack that got clear of the bunch. Unfortunately this group ended up being caught after just 40KM out front.
A new Break was formed just after the catch was made and again we were represented, this time by Hugentobler. The young Swiss rider managed to get in the BOTD but he was unable to match his companions through the Mountain and sprint points and eventually got caught not far from the finish line.
Thus it came down to a bunch sprint and although he initially positioned himself well on the back of the AirBaltic train he just missed out on a top 10 finishing the stage in 12th place.

There were only 2 races for the team in January, The tour down under and the GP Kathmandu.
Our first race of the season was the Tour Down Under running from the 13th to the 18th of January and we took the following riders to represent us in the opening race of the season:
With this squad we were hoping to get a top 15 in the GC and maybe sneak into a top 10 in one of the sprint stages.
The first stage has already been recapped separately so we won’t be going over it a second time which leads us straight into the second stage of the race.
The second stage was never going to be one for the sprinters and we were hoping to see Schurter figure prominently on this stage and with none of our riders making it into the days break it looked like it would be a quiet day for the team.
Then with 33km to go Rochetti of Evian made a strong attack and Schurter decided this move was too dangerous to let go and followed him. Unfortunately this move was brought back and despite trying again Schurter just couldn’t get a substantial gap.
In the end he still finished with the leading group in 24th position and Gregory Hugentobler who attacked yesterday only lost 50 seconds to the lead group proving he might be a better helper this season then we first realised.
In the third stage absolutely nothing of note happened for the team with no-one in the breakaway and Haidar Anuawar not able to contest the sprint at the finish line. At least the bunch all finished as one with nobody losing any time on the overall.
The fourth stage again saw Hugentobler on the attack and he was looking to gain back some of those seconds he lost on stage 2. He managed to take the bonus seconds available at both the intermediate sprints today recovering 12 of the 50 seconds that he'd lost, it was then brought back for another bunch sprint; again with no representation from Sauber, Schurter was our best placed rider in the pack in 34th place.
Staeg 5 was the queen stage to Willunga Hill with a hill top finish on teh second ascent and the day’s early breakaway got away without any representation from Sauber.
The stage was always going to sort out who the strongest riders in the race were but it proved slightly less effective than imagined with it ending in a 34 rider uphill sprint finish. With Schurter being the only rider representing us in this elite group it was always going to be hard for him to gain something out of the stage, and it proved as such with him only managing to come home 18th.
Even so this was still enough to jump him up 2 places on the GC on count back going into the final stage, speaking of which the final day was a flat stage with no real difficulties in the route meaning that a lot of places on the GC would come down to whose got the best accumulative placement over the stages.
The day wasn’t to be completely without incident for Sauber though as they sent Benedikt Mundle into the days breakaway to see if he could steal the final stage.
After a long day in the saddle the breakaway got caught within the last 10km after a perfectly timed chase from AirBaltic and Sram. The resulting mass sprint was a 2 part disappointment for Sauber as not only was Haidar Anuawar edged out of the top 10, finishing the stage in 13th but Schurter also really struggled and finished so far down the bunch that he dropped 3 places on GC to finish 17th and just miss out on the top 15 place he’d worked so hard for earlier in the race.
The only other race in January was the GP Kathmandu and the less said about it the better as we had a torrid time despite Schurter going on the attack, he was subsequently cought and would then go on to have a mechanical issue forcing him to drop out of the pack and the rest of our riders dropped back to help him, unfortunately they couldn’t chase back on and finished a disappointing 5 minutes and 9 seconds down on the race winner and only just inside the top 50.
Thus January was a poor start for the team but with plenty of room for improvement they will be hoping it’s not a sign of things to come for the season.

Thanks Bushwacker's, though we've declined the Promotion spot and will be staying CT due to the management's long term goal for the team.
Regardless of that I hope we can co-operate better come transfers this year and I'd be happy to exchange a few PM's when the time is right to try and avoid another Matthias Frank situation and to arrange any potential loan deals.
