That doesn't exactly mean cycling... could be swimming or running

well, yes... could be anything, so new readers have no other option than read a whole story to find out

Yeah if you haven't read some of it by now it won't make any sense but I feel obligated to my dedicated readers to keep pushing the plot forward and if I loss a few followers oh well. It's not like a real TV show were it's hard to find the past episodes. They are all in this thread so everybody has the chance, if they want to, catch up on story. Plus, (I feel like I keep repeating myself) all the episodes are linked in the 1st post and what, each episode takes about 5 minutes to read at the most. Somebody could easily catch up in 2 hours.
If you are a new reader I think it's worth it. Because all my current followers keep saying how good of a story this is and whatever blah blah blah and the one-rider story of the year comments keep poping up and so forth...

Getting back to California was a nightmare.
First it was the overpaying for the bag fees then it was
the crazy long wait going through all the security checks.
Only to find out my flight had been delayed due to mechanical issues.
I'm going to get back in time to race in the Amgen Tour of California,
but it was just going take a little more waiting then I'm accustom too.
Spoiler
I'm going to have to delay this story until Cyanide releases another patch and the PCM.Daily Expansion Pack comes out. I've gone as far as I possible can go with this game at it's current state. Current career mode can't support this story sufficiently enough to where I would continue. I'm very pleased that I made it to S5S9 before having to wait for the game to slow me down. It will also give me some time for some plot writing for future seasons and this waiting will make sure the story isn't destroyed by the career mode that is currently bug filled and lacks depth in terms of stages.
And I would like to thank my readers now as it was just been over one month since this story started and it's already at 31 pages, more then any other story I have written. I wish I could keep that pace going but there is nothing I can do;
...blame Cyanide. (Hope you liked all the metaphors in the episode)

I think you made the right decision, good idea to "delay" both in story and in real life!

Hey,
First I want to say what a great job you have done so far in setting up this story.
Secondly, I was wondering what in particular is making you wait to start this story? I was planning on putting an end to my long term lurking and start up a story myself, but if there is something wrong with the game atm then I'll obviously hold off on that... |

*csst*
Captain: Uhh......let me tell what's goin' on up here folks.
Passengers: Oh, I hope it's good...
Captain: Um, somebody put our engine in upside down. And the only tool that can fix this is in...um...Madagascar. Um, the tower has instructed us to go to a holding area until everyone onboard dies a natural death.
Good job pilots!

Firstly, thank you. Secondly, the game has stupid bugs like rider's satisfaction not working, invisible riders in X8 speed (which for some reason it really bugs me), and a few others I can't name off the top of my head. But the bigger problem is the lack of a bigger DB. The PCM.Daily Real Name is nice with all the teams but doesn't have enough stages and variants for up and coming seasons to keep the game playable over a long period of time. Playing the same stages over and over again isn't really fun or realistic.

I don't know if your planning on using any of my stages, but I am forking them out as fast as I can!

what about FCD? It looks great, plenty of small teams and .2 races, but stats are only 60-81 so its a bit different that is used for Official or Daily, stats are good, some riders not so much, but overall Its far best DB yet published
OR you can wait until Daily Expandion
Yep, thats me down here...

I have looked at the FCD, and have decided that I have more faith in the Daily Expansion in terms of stats and depth of races to delay the story more than to take the risk to play with a DB I have no experience with.

Actually, the FCD has a lot of the great smaller North American races, and Im editing the stats constantly, to get them reasonable (which I can certainly share), since a few are just way off. Most of it is alright though. Plus a lot more realistic startlists since I think all the US Continental teams are included.
All thats wrong with it, is that with really small teams, some dont race for months at at time, and it demolishes their satisfaction, more of a problem with PCM than the db itself.
The scouted riders dont have as realistic names, and what you said before which is the actual stats and other minor errors like bugged stages.
If it wasn't for the satisfaction bug, which absolutely needs to be fixed, I'd start a story now

Thanks for the info valv, I will take it into consideration and will give the FCD a second look as I have the next two days off from work.
