What game is that?
its called demarrage, the first ever PC cycling game released as far as I know of.
It only had the 3 gt's and was played from a top down view. I still have the game somewhere but i doubt it works under windows 8. It was released in the time of windows 95 i believe

Yeah, one would thing from PR and what was written about PCM12, that it would be a perfect game with lots of positive changes. And reality?

I've got a question for you guys since I'm seriously considering buying PCM13 upon release.
Right now I play PCM11 since I never bought PCM12. I've got this carreer which has been going on for five seasons (2016) and I want to keep going with it for at least three more.
My question for you is: how feasible is it, keeping into account everything that is going to change in PCM2013, to create a new DB in the new game and transfer litterally every bit of data from my PCM11 2016 carreer save into it, in order to continue my existing carreer in 2013?
As far as I'm aware Cunego59 has been doing the same with his Dominik Nerz story so I really hope it can be done from PCM11 to PCM 13 as well, with a carreer that's already 5 years ahead. During the transfering, I'm expecting to have to manually write/compile a lot. I would probably wait with doing all of it until the PCMDaily DB for PCM13 is released, so I can use the stages and other materials that are included in it. But other than that, some sub-questions:
-How much time would it cost to transfer all the teams, both WT, Pro Conti (non existant in PCM11, will have to come up with something) and Conti into PCM13, including all the riders, existing stats, amounts of stat growth left, maybe even salaries?
-Jerseys formats are changing in PCM13, how should I solve this?
-Would it be possible to transfer the palmarés? As well race results in historical years (2011-2016)?
-What's the easiest way for me to do all of this? Is there a way I can copy/paste data or do I need to manually re-enter everything?
So in short, can all of this be done? How much time would it take? How would I go about doing all of this? |

I'm pretty sure this is gonna be very hard to do. I don't know much about editors, but I'm sure, that you can't convert all the jersey from your game to PCM2013, unless you want low quality on them.
If I could suggest something(I have thought about doing it myself) is to just copy the data from YOUR team, create the same riders, with same stats, and so on. In that way you can at least keep your team.

- answer to ShortsNL's question
Well,i can only say that you will have huge problem with jereys. You can't transfer them without much lower quality. Maybe you can change everything except team jerseys. Than, change team names to existing jerseys( eg. if it was Vodafone and there is no PCM13 jesrsey for it,just change it to Specialized and it can work). Other things aren't so hard, but Lachi or lluuiiggii will describe it better to you.

I see your point in the jerseys. To be fair it's not my biggest priority. Some teams have of course changed sponsors/jerseys but I wouldn't have a problem with changing Vodafone back to Sky, KazMunayGas back to Astana, and so on.
It's good to hear about what I can and can't do though, so if you're reading this and have something to add, please don't hesitate! |

The easiest solution would be to:
1. Wait for the pcmdaily-DB for PCM13
2. Fast simulate a career in PCM13 until 2016 (or whatever year your career is at)
3. Edit the teams in the PCM13 career so that it looks like your PCM12 career.
By waiting for the daily-DB you might have some advantages:
1. You don't need to buy the game on release day. If it is crap, you can omit it.
2. You don't have to migrate because you have finished your actual career before the daily DB has been released.
But if you really want to go the hard way, then you should contact Cunego59 for sure. |

Thanks Lachi. If i'm buying PCM13 (strongly depends on the feasibility of these plans), I'll buy it from the start though, so I can do a practice season with a Realname DB to get some experience with the new game . I'll definitely wait with executing my plans until the Daily DB is released.
I'm a bit confused by what you're saying here:

Are you saying that I should try to get to the end of my current season in order to make transferring easier? Or are you suggesting that I should try and finish my 2011 carreer as a whole so I can forget about it? Also, I'd really prefer if I could transfer the palmarés along with all the current riders, including free agents. I have a feeling that palmarés/previous wins impacts salary negotiations. |

Palmares should be one of the easier migration jobs. But if you never did any migration, then you rather should start trying that instead of practicing in PCM13.
BTW:
Data migration has much do to with numbers because everything has to be linked together correctly. One mistake and all your work might be void. Although I work with databases I would never try such a migration. After all, it is just a game. You can have nice careers in PCM13 as well (or PCM14 if you skip PCM13 as well) |
