The last stage in this Tour isn't really long but counts 5 tough hills. Three of them are first category so the KoM competition should be decided today. Dekker is in a good lead and should not be in any danger today.
He is counted as the top favourite together with Hoogerland and Popovych.
5 riders in today's break of the day. Their names: Bret, Montenegro, Khalmuratov, Meier and Camier.
Ginsjo attacked out of the peloton when the break was already over 2 minutes in front and is now riding in between.
Khalmuratov takes the first mountain prime which puts him only 6 points behind Rake in the standings. Camier is second while the other three don't care.
Khalmuratov wins the second sprint aswell and takes the lead. Camier and Meier complete the top three. Bret couldn't handle the accelaration and is dropped.
The peloton is 9 minutes behind as the cross the second mountain sprint.
Ardila Cano feels the need to attack. But Metinvest, Volkswagen and Swedbank don't like this and quickly pull him back.
Khalmuratov also takes the next mountain sprint and is looking good for the dotted jersey. Meier and Camier are sill competing but more than a top 3 in that competition looks impossible.
The peloton is just under 8 minutes behind with both Bret and Ginsjo still riding in between.
Almost at the top of the final categorised mountain and Camier has to let go from his companions. Meier gets dropped a bit further aswell.
A real shame as they are still 8 minutes behind with only just over 20 kilometres left. Worth noting aswell is that Khalmuratov is only 10' behind and might jump into the top 10 today.
Going under the KoM-banner and Montenegro has attacked away. Khalmuratov gets back on the descent though. These two will fight for the stage win here.
Finally some action between the favourites as Hoogerland and Ardila Cano attack away. Dekker lets his team pull hard at the front.
Vueling pulled them back during the descent but Hoogerland isn't tired yet. He attacks again as we start the final climb. Popovych, Bibby, Keizer and Dahlberg all jump in his wheel.
Only Popovych got away though. He has a small gap on the field looking to move up a few places.
5 kilometres remaining at the front. Montenegro and Khalmuratov are still together with only flat remaining so will sprint for the win.
Meier and Camier are still behind but have a good gap on the favourites so should hang on to their 3rd and 4th place.
The main group is shattered now into smaller groups. Jose Mendes, who was sitting 6th overal, looks to be in trouble.
The rest of the top 10 is still together except of Montaguti who is even further down. Bar Popovych aswell ofcourse, he is still a bit in front.
Khalmuratov was in a bad position as he had to leadout the sprint but he made a strong accelaration on which Montenegro wasn't able to respond.
Khalmuratov takes a deserved stage win. He was the strongest in the break today also taking the mountains jersey.
Montenegro, Meier and Camier take 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
Popovych gets overtaken by Dekker and Bibby who are sprinting away from the other favourites.
Dekker takes 5th and can celebrate the overal. He takes the points jersey aswell. The top 5 stays the same but Mendes drops from 6 to 9 and Montaguti loses a lot of time today and gets replaced by Kiryienka in the top 10. Khalmuratov in the end only took 3 minutes so moves up to only 23rd.
Keizer wins the U25 competition while Vueling is the strongest team.
