really dont see why this is an issue, or why wiggins is getting hate for showing emotion after being released from hospital with a broken rib
I imagine that if you solo climbing the Alpe D'Huez and you are really digging deep and some stupid fan runs alongside you, increasing the danger of a crash by trying to hear you heart beats, you would do the same...
imagine you've been hit by a van whilst on a rider, and break a rib. Then on the way out of the hospital you are hounded by ten's of paparazzi who are getting in the way and yelling, lightbulbs flashin, you would do the same
You fail to see that I didn't criticize Wiggins like you did with Alberto. That's a major difference right there. |

I think you guys should just agree to disagree, this discussion is not going to work out, I suppose.

Again on this subject?

Damn TdP might be awesome route wise next year.
With Madonna Di Campiglio as the MTF in Italy it would seem the winner would be decided in the first 2 days in Italy, however Lang said they plan around 40km ITT in Poland.
So the winner might not be just pure climber. Seems good so far.
Looking forward for that race. Will be a very different one from the last previous years.
Yep, hopefully as exciting as this year's edition which was very enjoyable. Field full of talent, lots of attacks and exciting racing.
The 2013 course looks promising, tbh it might turn out most balanced stage race of the season.
Looks really cool, it could be kind of the Peace race sucessor,as the biggest event in central Europe. I hope someone like Konig will try his luck there, if invited.

Just to close down the Wiggins discussion: https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/wiggi...fter-crash
For those who are too lazy to click the link, it says that he apologizes for the finger gesture. At least that confirms that he wasn't just showing an injury to the press.

And moving even further away.
https://www.cyclin...or-cycling
This is making the news again. I'll be honest, I don't know enough about the people involved really to make a good judgement on it.
The whole problem with the points system is something that seems very obvious to me though.
The problem is that teams sign riders for points, because a teams score is based on the riders they are taking into next season.
The obvious solution is to make their score the points their riders scored last season. That's how it works in every other sport in the world.
I'd love to heard some of the guys who have followed cycling for a long times views on this though. As someone who is fairly new to cycling, I have to admit from the start i have found the way the sport is structured and organised very very odd and strange. |

they had made no contact as yet with the sport's biggest race organisers, ASO, and RCS Sport
Then this is nothing, without ASO on board they can do absolutely nothing, zilch, nada. And the problem to convince them is the TV revenues thingy. Yes, the Tour de France makes a shitload of money from them, but the rest of the races? Even historical major events like Tirreno-Adriatico have been struggling economically lately, what if they lose part of the TV money? Exactly, we will end up with tons of Tour of Beijings or Tour of Omans at the expense of the Vueltas al PaÃs Vasco and others.
Ah, he says it'll follow the footsteps of the F1, so exactly what I said. Now we need our Tilke. Maybe Javier Guillén?

Back to Benoit Joachim. Turns out the media have been misquoting the original article where he was originally quoted.
He never said he didn't dope. He only said he regretted not working with Ferrari, nothing else.

Not the biggest news but they did a big enquete about doping and cycling. And surprise, surprise, almost no one believes that most riders don't use doping.
However, this doesn't effect people's interest in watching TDF, for example, which in a way is good. Most of them also believe that doping isn't the worst in cycling but in other sports as well. So let's hope the "good name of cycling" can be repaired. Starting now, with the new generation, who say they do without, and I may be foolish but I believe them. |

Matti Helminen, former TT champion of Finland who rode with Landbouwkrediet until earlier this year has been given a 2 year ban for EPO and corticosteroids. That should be the end of his career.

Oh, and it was in reponse to a questiion. One of them asked which finger was dislocated. The media ran the picture with the tag 'Wiggo jokes as he arrives home whilst nursing dislocated finger'
So basically rhe people who were there werent offended, only random peoople whom were not there and dont understand the context.
Game set and match.
Source? Because all I can find is "Wiggins gives the finger to the press" and so on.
Seriously, you are Wiggins fans, and it's fine. You don't need to justify all he does, personality cult isn't a good thing.
Turns out it wasn't true
I would also like to apologise for the gesture that I made when I arrived home yesterday afternoon. I was tired, in a lot of pain, and just wanted to get inside, but I shouldn’t have reacted the way I did. I’m sorry for that.

In other completely relevant and exciting news, Peter Kennaugh was found sticking out his tongue to the press not too long ago.
I personally think this behaviour is unacceptable and he should be heard for neglecting his role-model duties by the Arbitration Committee of the UCI, who should sanction him with restricting him from opening his mouth ever again while riding on a bike. This includes eating and drinking, as it could lead to potentially uncontrollable damages as a result of the British tabloids taking pictures from him and his tongue, and then having the entire UK population talk about it for another week.
Problem is, some cyclists have taken offense into this matter and have already started to protest the UCI's impending decision by showing their support for Kennaugh:
So far, Pat McQuaid has refused any comment on the matter, although the UCI released this photo to the press today:
Don't you just love the winter months?

The McQuaid, Kennaugh and Wiggins tongues are withing the allowable limits and did not trigger positives.
The Menchov, Voeckler, Phinney and Dekker tongues have extended over 6cm beyond the rim of the lip and thus constitute adverse analytical findings, pending the B analysis.
On the subject of the Joaquim RodrÃguez tongue, the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation released a statement today clarifying that the picture must have been faked, as RodrÃguez was born with a rare genetic condition that causes him to have no tongue.
Meanwhile, cycling forums are ablaze with rumours of Cancellara's mechanical tongue.

My experiences tell me that majority of illegal substances are being placed under the tongue.

Yes. But he comes back now. Missed cycling too much. And was convinced by their concept. They have a German GM if I remember right. |
