stars for riders potential

I was wondering how many points a star is equivalent to for a riders potential in that area. e.g. if a rider had 78 mountin and 1 star for progress in it, what is the highest his mountain stat could be. Also do young riders gain more progress stars as they get older?

I found this on the Cyanide board:
6* = 16 or more
5* = 11-15
4* = 8-10
3* = 5-7
2* = 3-4
1* = 1-2
so 2 stars means that the peak stat will be 3 to 4 higher than what it is now.
My understanding of this system is that the peak skills are determined when the rider is created and don't change with time. So progress stars should only disappear (through training). |

I guess the potential is only fully exploited if you trainer has 9 or 10 in the skill? |

No.
The trainer has no influence on the final potential, only on how long it will take to get there.
If a rider has the potential of 80, a trainer with 10 will get him there quicker then one with 2. |

Wow... I now feel really happy about finding a young rider with a 69 on sprint and 5 stars....
I also have Dan Martin at 82 Mt. in 2013 and 1 star still....
