Pretty funny result with Fincantieri getting the 2-3-4.
Perfect stage for us, pretty fortunate there weren't any attacks and Shikai could hold on up the final hill. Very happy with that. The long climb next stage should suit Shikai better but there's also potential for big gaps on it so definitely still a little nervous.
Thanks for another high quality report!

Ugh so close to another stage win, but nothing to really complain about with the 2-3-4 and Masnada back up into 10th. |

One more stage for Shikai to survive. Lets go Karthago!

One of those weird stages where most of the group doesn't do much to. Don't hate it for my own result, but obviously having the best finishers is a huge benefit when the group sprints 6 across because you block the front. Either way, I really thought this one would create gaps, but looking back on last year this was a breakaway win with no major GC gaps too.
Stage 8 did create significant gaps in 2025 though and should likely do the same here. Let's see if Cras tries to really hit folks hard.

Rachid living a good and quiet life. Would like to see Azman or Kulindwa join a breakaway, but probably won't happen now. On the other hand, they can add some minor points with a bit of luck.

I didn't expect a mass finish like this on stage 7. We are still at #4 in GC, so I guess it is okay. I had hoped for a top 3 finish, maybe it can work in the last mountain stage.
Then again I think Stüssi has great chances for a top finish in the last TT, so keeping 4th place untill the last stage is the main priority.

Thanks for the Report of Stage 8.
Of course that was again a very good stage for us. ANd that makes me even more regret this one stage were nobody knows what happens. Also, i think the timekeepers are definitely not in our favorite, even just a few seconds could have been good here. Now it gets really hard for the final TT to make some jump in the final GC to the podium. Our oponents arent weaker in TT so i dont expect much but I still hope for a miracle and that Cras can maybe get a few seconds.

Wow, disappointing by Pira, as this should be his best stage. Biliyi also far behind in the U-25 standings. We might not get anything from this race
Congrats Ezeefreak with a great win, Cras were definately the strongest today
Thanks redordead for another great and thrilling report! |

Shikai is so good.
Cannot believe how well he's performed this race - so far beyond even my best case scenario. Don't even get how he can keep up with Cras like that when even Galta and Stussi can't, but it was necessary with Osorio doing the same. Still won't celebrate until it's all over for certain.
Grats to Ezee for the stage, glad that Cras bounced back after stage 6 even if it'd still be disappointing. And thanks again redordead for another great report! Was so nervous reading it.

Shikai survives
Massive race for him!
Not sure if congrats to ezee are appreciated since the gc looks worse than he Cras would probably expect

Interesting we've been so active in the mountains despite not having a starred on-the-day favorite per the game. Still: kinda love the satellite move with Aebi for Masnada? Didn't work, but he and Smith ended up probably where they should have as it is. So I appreciate the activity and elan.
Masnada riding down Cort Nielsen seems not impossible but unlikely. Should hopefully be safe from behind (Fernandes is lurking at +1'21" in arrears, but only 16k...) as well. So hoping for 8th, will be fine with 9th. Smith might drop to 15th but not a huge difference there.
Overall very happy with this race. Should be an excellent points haul that will keep us in the mix for promotion, and some stage wins towards a season goal.

Agree here, for ezee always great with a stage win, but like with Galta for me last year, he needs to perform GC wise to really be happy
Big race for Shikai here!

Looking at the stage photos I'd take a pretty strong view that what happened was all DeNA teammates got used up at the bottom of the climb (see the picture of Carcueva attacking), then next picture in the back ground all DeNA riders have the exhausted animation. And because of that Cras has started working on the front (the picture showing Cras 2nd/3rd wheel suggest this and blown himself up (you can see this is the case on the picture 1km to go). Shows the importance of having those super doms on some stages I guess. |

Congrats on the stage win Ezee. Not the best race overall, but very dominant stage from Cras.
A fantastic ride from Rachid! I think it's also due to very competent domestiques.
Rachid might even sneak onto the podium tomorrow, as he should outperform Galta.
Also looking forward to seeing if Kulindwa can stay in 3rd in the YC. We should be pretty safe in the TC, with several TT riders on the block.
I would have preferred Sureda to win the points classification, even if Rachid ended up just outside the top 10. I guess a podium is just as good though (no jinx).
