Dang, thought we had the stage there. Finally got the leadout right.
Not sure what Elosegui was doing, but looks like he has earned himself a supporter role for Jorgenson instead of being a co-leader.

That was a scary positioning from Giannoutsos. Atleast he didn’t drop entirely, but that was more luck than anything. Kiriakidis had a good day, but lost time earlier on unfortunately.

The hill stage tomorrow is one that could ruin our race completely but Inkelaar and Frankiny both survive this stage so praying they keep surviving and find themselves in the top 20 GC race. Congrats to Zalgiris on a nice win for their project rider!

Losing time on the flat stage was a blessing in disguise for Kmieliauskas. That's a big W, let's see if Lasinis can keep holding onto front group and maybe get something out of TTT

Fearless riding from our guys and we get an excellent result in the process. Never thought I'd see the day that Jorgenson and Kudus would go head-to-head in a GC battle. Crazy how far our American prodigy has developed over the years.

Great decision to join the breakaway today. Sending Bloem in it, not so much.
Van den Broeck and Ries barely hanging on to the main group and now having somewhat decent positions in the GC. Not sure how to feel about this. Losing time might have helped their chances of joining the breakaway in the next stages.

Massive, massive stage for us! Thrilled to see us take part in breakaway action, and what a perfect day to do it! Amazing stage result for us, and Cepeda’s KoM hint also makes me hopeful he will try to join more breakaways. Also fancied him for the stage win at the end, but can’t really blame him, as the energy used on KoM points saw him truly done towards the end. Congratulations on the stage, quadsas!
Thank you for the report, UU! Must admit I’ve missed the excitement that follows the report when your team takes part in the breakaway, and you realize as the stage progresses that this will be a nail biter all the way to the line |

Was interesting to see Eg and Olivier hanging out near the front so much on the earlier climbs. I guess it's as good of a sign as any that they're trying, and Olivier is still on the same time even though he faded at the end a bit. I'm not really sure what to make of it though because after the high mountains and the TTT, he's certainly going to be further down and not super relevant. Some aggression might make more sense. But even that was kind of weird today with the peloton letting nonclimbers up the road to win. We'll see what happens!

Not the most active stage from our guys but Haig not losing unnecessary time is good at this stage I suppose. Would like to see him a bit more active in the stages to come!

These kinds of stages always feel a bit random because there are a bunch of sprinters technically left in the peloton, but none of them are in a position to the contest the sprint or organize their teams. It feels like it leads to some chaos and randomness with who ends up on the front.
Wasn't gonna be a stage for us either way though. Thanks for the report!

Oh, that looked to be a huge potential upset by Gaze. Judging by the photos, his speed seemed superb when finally getting out of slipstreams/being blocked. Third and fourth here is another good and cool result for us! But can’t quite help it, but also think of a possible stage win we just missed there with Gaze, seeing the favourable positioning we had starting the sprint. |

Bolt killing it here! Congrats mate!
Lasinis throwing 10 minutes for no reason sucks to see, when everyone else (I think) just had a quiet day on the office. Happy that Giannoutsos didn’t lose time today. That was our ultimate goal. Still a chance for a solid top 10 GC here. Hoping for a top 5, but that can/will be difficult.

Thanks for all those class reports, Ulrich! We've been rather anonymous so far (apart from Arias Villanueva in some breaks), so the big hope is that Vauquelin will lose some additional time in stage 6 to make his great breakaway appearance in stage 7. Otherwise the two minutes lost because of his bad positioning will really suck in the end ...
And finally congrats to all those who've done well so far!

Kooij gaining a few places in the points rankings is good.
