Quite the contrast to yesterdays performance, but De Plus was in the first group this getting the gap needed for him to realistically give the top 10-15GC a shot with a couple of good stages.
There’s still the risk that he ends up between 25-35th due to the time lost in the prologue, and others winning from breaks, but so far we are climbing closer and closer to the top 10. Let’s see if We Can get there and hopefully play a bit more of an active role in the breaks in the following days.

Tbf in our first year of the triple clash we cannot expect to be relevant in all three races, praying for some stage results for the remainder of the race!
Thanks for the reports so far

The triple header is developing into a terrible week for us. Losing both Oliveira and Plapp is rough

With the finish so flat, we never really stood a chance to do well in the sprint and place on the stage. Aranburu needs it to be harder than that to have a shot. Good on Mohoric for taking the chance and getting the win.
On the other hand, I was pretty shocked to have four guys in the front group, including Sulvaran who is now 3rd on GC and Dalby who is low 70s main stats. The depth is very nice, though I hope Sulvaran's placing doesn't disrupt our plans for the remaining stages too much. I doubt he can keep afloat through the whole race, and the harder uphill finishes on stages 6 and 7 should suit Aranburu in theory.
Interested to see what Rodenberg can do tomorrow.

Storer riding fairly well here so far. A stage top 10 and he sits just outside the GC Top 10 also. Now to stay out of trouble the next 2 stages and then fight for what he can in the final 2 stages!

Rather quiet stage from Remco, but he keeps blue for at least a couple of more stages.
It really sucks that Sossa lost a bunch of time today, but Frigo and Vader potentially scoring depth here is interesting.

Great racing by the team, sadly Schmid didn't have the right positioning today to finish it off. Following Mohoric in this downhill attack was impossible though, really strong move, congrats to Oleg!
Still, Mauro has moved inside the Top 10 now and even gets to wear green for a day or two (or could he even take it home?), so still a very nice race for us. Plus, Paez is still well placed in the GC as well, strong racing by him, too!
Thanks for the report.

2nd Hill Stage and not a single Vansevenant mention... He has lost his riding style so far. I need him a lot more aggressive, mid stage and repeating attacks are his strength. Riding anonymously hurts all scoring. 2 potential stage wins ended with 0 points as he didn't even join the positioning sprint.
Hopefully just a momentum, which swaps later on. Last year iirc he had an awful first race as well but not a single weak event afterwards.
That said, GC wise it still looks good and for now the following stages might be better seeing he is now in a decent position to care.
Though for the big attack be needs bonus seconds, he can't just give them away that easily. |

Valter looks to have taken the same pill as Vansevenant, unfortunately! Weird to see him so, so passive. Could it be that the AI rate Cristophersen as our GC guy due to the prologue? Sounds weird, I feel, simply due to Cristophersen's low key stats for such a hilly race.
Pidcock starting his Evenepoel chase! That could be very intriguing for the final two stages |

With no one one making the main group on stage 3 looks like this will be a low scoring race unless we find some success on the sprint stages.
Congrats to Tinkoff on the win

That attack couldn't have helped Ziijlaard's chances in the sprint. Missing the top 10 is disappointing. Nothing happening in the GC is good. Well, except for Sossa being completely out of it now, which sucks because he could have gotten a good result in the youth rankings.

Ok result by Abdul Halil. The next stage is shorter and a little easier and should fit him better.

Ugh. Really messy sprint for some reason and not great from Rodenberg. I guess we get a point though. Onto the next try.

Would have liked to see Koumpetsos give it a go here, but the competition is too fierce.

Same here for Larsen, guess 77 Spr isn't enough for PT races. Good to know. But with the prologue he'd have been here anyway, even if I had known before
Nice try by Donzé though, always good to see your youngsters trying something
Congrats to Trans, PCT teams are really stealing quite some points in this year's triple header
