Covered in mud, but never has a jersey looked quite as beautiful across the line!
I was a little worried Spengler made no reactions to any of the moves, he's not a good finisher. But he clearly knew what he was doing, saving all of that energy getting pulled along to unload in one go and claim an excellent victory!
I can relax a lot more about the cobbles now...
Plus, I spy Kuroeda almost winning the second group sprint behind. Another positive sign if he's close enough to the front he can snag points with a quick sprint.
It's a well earned party at the BMF HQ!

Ooo a Spengler win, nice! Congrats TMM!
8th from Jacobs is fine... We'll want him to do that consistently and hopefully sneak in a couple better results this month too.
Thanks for the race alex

It continues to be a source of frustration that the game seems to use acceleration as a proxy for aggressiveness when the opposite would make much more sense - Ovsyannikov and Girmay should be the last riders to go for attacks late in the race. But it's not a new behavior, so I'm not terribly surprised. Hopefully Bini will be strong enough to sustain a few of these attacks throughout the next few weeks.
As it stands, 6th in a win goal is really bad, so it's a disappointment whichever way you look at it. Habimana in 18th is decent at least, looks like he can take on the Teggart role from the last few years nicely.
Congrats TMM, not such a bad idea to focus on cobbles after all Nice to see that beautiful jersey at the front of the race. And thank you for the great report alex!

Congrats to TMM, Spengler gambling on patience and it paid off.
No disappointment for us this time as we met our expectation of 0 points.
Thanks for the report Alex.

Spengler winning from a group sprint is not what I had on my bingo card.

7th is a good result from Lampawog, no complaints there. Was hoping for depth points though...
Congrats to TMM and thanks for the report Alex!

Good to get some points, even though I didn't really like both Stewart and Sommer going for one of those senseless long-range attacks. But I was hoping for 5 points, I got them, so all fine here. Better races (hopefully) to come.
Congrats to TMM, nice to see the Spengler gamble paying off for now
