Alright, so here's the deal. I have absolutely no time to do a real preview, but I want to feel important, so I'm gonna make a whole thread based on the presumption that anyone cares enough about what I think to ask about it.
Your job is to name a MG-related subject: a rider, team, transfer, signing, region focus, etc. I will give a (potentially reactionary and ostentatious) take on that subject in 3 sentences or less. No thoughtful, detailed questions or analysis allowed.
If nobody participates, it will be very embarrassing for me. Though I guess if a lot of people participate, it's kind of embarrassing for you. |

Guess I’ll bite the bullet with an on par subject.
What’s your take on the micro nation teams? (Also applies to the teams geared to less mainstream nations like Podium in the past.)

What so you say about teams dumping team legends just because a new shiny toy gets available?

If you could become the best manager in the game in one of these aspects, which one would you take?
- Transfer Deal Negotiating
- FA Market Understanding
- Race Planning / Understanding of the Game Engine?
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Oh here’s a fun one: We should ban Russian and/or Israeli riders in the MG.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Countries in MG, that has too many teams focusing on it, despite the talent not supporting it?

Do you think that new talent additions try to stray too close to replacing specific rider types in the game, rather than adhere to the actual nature of the riders? Henrik Pedersen bing a pure TT'er this year as a prime example.

I think it's a bit rude asking exactly bbl such a thing
@bbl
What is your worst take for every division (i.e. the take you believe in although while being sure you'll be totally wrong about)?

It's fun for roleplay in small doses (i.e., when I do it), but kind of gimmicky at this point. You're really telling me the GDP of San Marino is supporting even one cycling team, let alone two? There are more people living on my city block right now than in that entire "country."

Maybe a copout, but in my mind, Euskotren is specifically Basque, so I'm gonna say Spain and then Portugal. How the hell are there two San Marino-affiliated teams but no Spanish or Portuguese teams? Also sad to have no Irish teams right now.

For best rivalry, I wanna say Pedersen vs. Per, but I'm biased, so it's probably Herklotz and PHL if it's a year they actually decide to race each other. Worst rivalry is Ekoi v. Peugeot—I was really starting to love the hatred there until they teamed up for a dev team. Turns out it's just all social media marketing smh

I recognize you sometimes have to turn the page on a new generation cause that's just how you stay competitive, but I think the story element of how you go about it is important. If you sell your declining leader down a division to a regional team (or you give your team captain a chance to dominate a division with ample support ), I think there's a potentially soft landing there. But it grinds my gears when teams sell or drop a team legend only to end up filling that spot with someone equally useless—have some respect (like I did re-signing AKA)!

I think it's easily transfer deal negotiating for me because while tax is a roadblock, we've seen that managers who are very good at favorably swapping, flipping, and managing assets can effectively generate way more budget than those that don't, and that just opens so many doors. FA market understanding is useful, but you only need one or two people to break an otherwise logical market anyway, and at best you find a few steals slightly undervalued. And I think race planning and game engine knowledge is something that's less of an innate skill and more easily acquired over time, so no need to use my wish on that one.

Disagree because there is no war, conflict, or oppression in the utopian MG universe (yet). In the offseason riders of all nations hold hands in harmony.

Easy answer was previously Switzerland, though Sauber is now pulling away from the competition, so I have to say Scandinavia as a region given my bias. While there are a lot of talents from Norway and Denmark added each year, the market is always crazy for them between the many Scandinavian teams, some of which are very region focused, and the international teams that don't shy away from bidding on Scandinavian riders in the way they might riders from smaller nations. And another honorable mention to San Marino, of course.

I think the general basis for a young talent should be their real life skillset, but I'm usually okay with adjusting a rider to fit the needs of the DB, within reason. If we added talents according to their actual skillsets, it would make the game a whole lot less nuanced considering the decline in specialization in real life. 75% of talents would just some form of all-arounders these days, though I guess there's some appeal to that if it leads to divergent XP path usage.

In renewals, Uijtdebroeks has to be the biggest overpay for me, although I realize it's always tough when you're negotiating down high-priced talents and insult them. In FA, I think Kamna is the biggest overpay I've seen in 13 years and it's not particularly close. He's already 30, so at 850k you're not even buying any decent value years down the line like you would if he was still 27-28.
