[PCT '26] McCormick Pro Cycling

Can't tell if that's sorted by MO or OVL or if it even matters in this team Pfft

Shocking news about the sponsor, one of the longest-serving ones currently I would think. Interested what the next phase is, but for now a final hurrah for the McCormick Mountaineers Grin

Didn't expect the sponsor news! Thought this would be a one sponsor team for life.

Couple of shrewd loan signings will definitely help your cause this season. Will be interested to see how Quinn goes now that he is maxed and will that finally take you over the line in the promotion hunt. Promotion to PT in McCormick's final year will be poetic Smile

Heavy on MT rider not sure it's the year for it with the amount of talent in the division and the lack of TT riders available scares me a little though Ribashenko is a fine sprint leader on a low budget and Simmons will be a good hilly stage racer this year so theres a lot to like here

No one will be happy to face your riders whenever it goes uphill, but I'm not quite sure that will be enough for more than another upper-midfield season.

It will be strange to not have McCormick in the startlists anymore, although it's not a major surprise after your increasing change in focus regions.

I like the team, but also not quite sure if the heavy MO focused squad can find enough points across the calendar to make up the lack of scoring elsewhere.

Tough sponsor news. Will be a weird shakeup for the observers, but cool to see you trying new things!

The Aular loan is interesting in retrospect. A very cool deal for both sides, but I agree with others that you'll have to plan with some finesse to get the most out of all your climbers. I'd love this squad in PT with three GTs, but will have to see if the PCT schedule can accomodate such a strong focus on one terrain.

I don't see you as a relegation risk, but agree with others that you might have been more of a surefire promotion bet if Aular was replace with a similarly valued TT/SPR/COB guy.

Thanks for the comments. McCormick has always been a climbing focused team so it will be fun to go out with a bang, although as discussed more below the concentration is a risk.

Jeez, I hope relegation isn't a risk. Spent all my money bringing in loan leaders to a team that finished 9th last year (and less than 50 points off 7th). Relegation would be a very disappointing outcome.

Getting "a pure TT/SPR/CO guy might have been a better option than Aular" seems to be the common theme, so quoting BBl as representative. We'll see on that, the calendar is relatively short on heavy TT mountain races this year and that was part of our planning. Ideally I would have liked a better TTing rider but hoping with the short TTs Aular's mountain strength will balance that out. I was worried any strong cobbler would be isolated so was hesitant to invest a lot there. TT leaders didn't really make sense once bands were selected (felt it was safer to avoid them than count on getting a legitimate TTer).

I would be disappointed if we don't outscore last year's team. The question is whether that is enough to promote - I think that probably depends on the strength of the other teams most of all.

It is sorted by terrain (climbers, puncheurs. sprinters/roulers) then by OVL. But does kind of look like by MT stat.

Been not totally happy with the McCormick concept ever since we achieved our original goal of getting to PCT will all US leaders. Decided with PT at least in sight it was time to go for a new start after this year.
