Two more nice regional signings, your team takes a really nice form so far!

Just like your tracking tool, your transfers seem to be working out quite good so far Smile Onodera can score some nice TT points, and the sprinters you've signed should be able to do the same in CT!

Team building is going quite well so far I'd say Grin

As the end of the transfer window swings into view our roster nears completion, with three more riders joining in the past few days. Up first is our initial GC signing (by way of transfer), the veteran Italian all-rounder Fausto Masnada. At this stage of his career we do not expect Fausto to compete for GC victories, even at the CT level. However, we hope his completeness and experience will combine to provide a steady stream of points through consistent placings, especially in tours that include ample TT kilometers within which he can make back some gaps to the purer climbers.

He is joined by pair of additional domestiques, the Czech rouleur Daniel Turek and the Italian climber Mattia Bais. Although we expect Daniel may score some points here and there through TT placings, the primary goal of both will be to support the leadership as strong, dependable teammates throughout a variety of terrains.

Masnada is a really strong rider who i wanted to get for years. I think he will still do a good job for you!

Not sure what the GC field will look like in CT, but I wouldn't be surprised if Masnada is still sneaky good with his fun stat combo Smile

Masnada should be great in CT, excellent pickup there!

Fincantieri - Grand Seiko has completed three additional signings for the coming season. First is the veteran climber Dion Smith. The New Zealander spent last year helping an Italian team promote to the PCT, and we hope he repeats the feat by contributing to our points return, especially in the high mountains and through placings in the general classification of the harder races on the CT calendar.

He is joined by a pair of juniors. First is the high potential Italian Ludovico Crescioli, who projects out as an excellent rouleur and elite breakaway artist.

Second is the young Swiss talent Jonas Muller, who we hope will develop into a puncheur with a kick, able to contribute to the team on versatile parcours.

With these three signings, Fincantieri - Grand Seiko now considers our transfer window to be closed. The final roster will depend only on our draft additions.

Masnada is a great signing. Looking forward to the GC battles this year!

A bit disappointed that I didn't have the possibility to bring Muller in as a regular FA, but good to see he gets at least one level-up (I hope).
Love to see Masnada on your team, I'm sure he'll do well in CT! Had him in my first year as a lvl4 rider with similar stats, and he did a good job Smile

Just beware of greedy guy Aebi's renewals demands, good to see he got punished with quite a bit less than what I offered him... Still sad to lose him, but I guess he arrived in a good team.

jackgibbs
Given the quality of Stüssi and others, Masnada and Smith pulling out some decent placings is likely to be all I can really hope for in the GC front, I suspect.

And yeah, both juniors look set to gain a level this season. Muller projects out as a very nice piece at the PCT/CT level, so will certainly prioritize his development.

In the draft the team selected our two preferred picks, Filippo Fiorelli and Sohei Kaneko, both of whom will ride as versatile domestiques.

This looks like a fun, pretty balanced squad. Job well done for your first transfer season

Heine
I like the build. No big major leader, but Langelotti, Masnada and Smith should help you a lot. Will also be fun to see how Onodera and Kinoshita does!

With his Flat I also like Aquilani at this level, though he in general is more of a leadout than a sprinter in my eyes. Still with the right situation and some luck I wouldn't be surprised if he makes me eat my words

cunego59
Hope you enjoyed your first transfer season! I really like how you built around your focus regions both with veterans and rookies. This should be one of the better hill squads of CT, and Masnada and Smith give you good chances in the mountains, as does Onodera in TTs.

Like Heine, I have my doubts about Aquilani, specifically if and how the AI will prioritize him in sprint preparations. But who knows. Punting on cobbles completely is also a reasonable decision as a newcomer, I think. Outside of the one mandatory one, those races should be easy enough to avoid.

jackgibbs
Yeah I don't expect Aquilani to pick up any true flat field sprints, but hopefully his versatility and recovery means there are some where he's coming in fresher than the faster competition and can find some placings.

Really the way I'd see a successful season playing out is a run of really strong results in the hills and with Onodera in the TTs, the GC and sprint teams just consistently clocking the minor placings, and maybe some breakaway luck.

baseballlover312
Really cool squad with a lot of depth for a new team. I really like both the Langellotti and Kinoshita signings on their own, though I wonder how the game will handle them together in practice. Best of luck this year!

You'll probably end in the lower ranks of the division, but the squad you built is still really cool! Masnada and Smith should make for some fun races and with the regional core you built the foundation for next season is already pretty good!

2026 Team Presentation

Presenting Fincantieri - Grand Seiko for the 2026 ManGame CT Season!

Sponsors

Title Sponsor, Primary Fincantieri
Title Sponsor, Secondary Grand Seiko
Framesets Wilier Trestina
Groupsets and Wheels Shimano
Saddles fi’zi:k
Jerseys Castelli
Helmets Limar

The team’s primary sponsor is Fincantieri, the national shipbuilding firm of Italy. Based in Trieste, and manufacturers of everything from naval warships to superyachts to cargo ships, Fincantieri is ecstatic to be backing a squad committed to embracing an Italian and Adriatic identity with a dynamic racing style. They are joined by Grand Seiko, the luxury marque of the Tokyo-based watch giant. Focused on supporting the best of Japanese and Swiss cycling as the centers of the horological world, the signing of the legendary Tomohiro Kinoshita has the venerable company immensely excited about the debut year to come.

As tertiary sponsors, the team is supported with bikes from Wilier Trestina, jerseys from Castelli, and saddles from fi’zi:k, all hailing from the Veneto region, near Trieste in Northeastern Italy. Groupsets and wheels are furnished by Shimano, the esteemed Japanese company that remains a pillar of the cycling world, with helmets due to the Italian brand Limar.

Kit

The beautiful cream, navy, and gold inaugural kit, embedded with subtle naval motifs, is the excellent work of Jakstar22.

Roster

Leaders
Andrea Aquilani
Tomohiro Kinoshita
Victor Langellotti
Fausto Masnada

The team has signed four riders into leadership positions for its debut season. Leading the team in the sprints will be the Sammarinese strongman and finisher Andrea Aquilani. A powerhouse with a strong kick, he will be expected to deliver at the end of hard days of racing across the CT calendar. He is joined by the legendary Japanese puncheur, Timohiro Kinoshita. The reigning National Road Race Champion of his country as well as the winner of the 2022 edition of Liege-Bastogne-Liege, Kinoshita is toward the end of his storied career, but still should be an exceptional hill leader and road captain at the CT level.

Kinoshita winning La Doyenne.

Next is Monaco’s dual National Road Race and Time Trial Champion, the versatile puncheur Victor Langellotti. Of Italian descent, the team’s yacht building and luxury watchmaking sponsors are particularly thrilled about Monegasque representation on the roster. Last, but certainly not least, is the veteran Italian general classification contender Fausto Masnada. Strong in all of the mountains, hills, and time-trials, Masnada will hopefully supply consistent results in the CT, especially as the calendar shifts to stage racing in the latter half of the season.

Co-leaders
Rei Onodera
Dion Smith

Two other riders have been signed with the expectation that they will fulfill a mix of leadership and support roles, depending on the specific terrain and team needs. First is the Japanese rouleur and time-trialist, Rei Onodera. A longtime veteran of the PT, his experience and strength will be a considerable asset to the team, especially in ITT and TTT stages and races. Joining him will be one of the rare talents to have won a stage in all of the Giro d’Italia, Tour de France, and Vuelta a Espana in their careers, the brilliant Kiwi climber Dion Smith.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2020/Reports/GTM/Tour/S11/60.jpg
Winner of Stage 11 at the 2020 Tour de France, Dion Smith.

Lieutenants
Antoine Aebi
Tomohiro Hayakawa
Fredrik Ludvigsson

Another trio of riders have been nominated as lieutenants, who will mostly ride in support of team leadership but may be expected to function as protected riders in certain races. They are the versatile Swiss climber and puncheur Antoine Aebi, the veteran Japanese sprinter Tomohiro Hayakawa, and the pugnacious Swedish puncheur Fredrik Ludvigsson.

Squad
Mattia Bais
Ludovico Crescioli
Filippo Fiorelli
Robin Froidevaux
Sohei Kaneko
Taishi Miyazaki
Matteo Moschetti
Jonas Muller
Daniel Turek

The remainder of the squad is a capable bunch hailing from across Italy, Japan, Switzerland, and Czechia. As domestiques they will provide support and, in the case of our young and talented juniors Ludovico Crescioli and Jonas Muller, gain valuable experience on the roads of the CT.

Calendar

The team has declared as preseason goals results in three races. The two Adriatic hill classics, the Coppa Placci and the GP Izola, as well as the Isle of Man TT.

We are also further very excited to be racing, by way of wildcard, the PTHC-level Tour of Slovenia, as well as by standard invite the Chinese, Italian, and Swiss HC classics, the Badaling International, Milano-Torino, and the GP Lugano.

The remainder of our calendar is a mix of C1 and C2 races, focused on our team’s preferred terrain of the hilly classics and stage races.

Love the feel of the roster, very true-to-life Italian CT squad with a Japanese sponsor. Good planning needed to get the most of Langellotti and Kinoshita. Masnada is still cool and Smith a great compliment. Top5? It's not beyond reach at all, kouun wo inorimasu!
