I like the additions of Riabushenko and Zhao, think they can work really well together. It looks like the PCT sprinting field is gonna be stacked, so hopefully they can shine through.

Love Eekhoff. Age, versatility, backups. Everything perfect for a domestique.

I have to echo the other, good additions with Zhao and Riabushenko. I don't see a promotion candidate yet, but that was to be expected seeing the limited moves you made.
Best of luck!

@Laurens - mid-table is right I think, top 10 goals so would like to make that and improve a little on last year.

McCormick Pro Cycling completed their final offseason moves with the signing of two additional stagiares in Emry Faingezicht and David Anderson Palma and the loan signing of Darren Rafferty from Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo. Quinn Simmons and Fikri Azka Mohammad also left on loans to King Power and Indosat Ooredoo, respectively. Simmons becomes the fifth McCormick rider to complete his development at King Power while Mohammad gets to fulfill his dream of riding with his home team for at least one season.
Said team manager Ulrich Ulriksen, "We are thrilled to able to pick up riders of the quality of Emry and David, they are both very solid time-trial prospects who have a real chance at permanent contracts next year. And David continues our commitment to young American riders."
Ulriksen added, "The chance take Darren on loan and receive the Mangame UCI's mandated extortion fee, I mean loan fee, was too good a chance to pass up." We look forward to helping Darren get started on his pro career."
Ulriksen also also commented on the teams offseason training camp, "nobody looked vulnerable out there, and particularly Ivan and Nils really looked ready for the season."

Second the others, it seems like you're in for a solid mid-table season, but with the chance of some really nice performances especially from Sosa. And if Eekhoff turns out to be too frustrated by having to lead in the cobbles we'll happily take him next transfers, at least there should be a leader for him

Will be interesting to see how you split up Sosa and Yates. But really like your depth as well. Both guys will be well supported.

There was a point this transfer season where I thought you were going to be able to secure Zhao on about a 60,000 wage and I'm crushed (for you) that you ended up having to pay what you did for him although it is absolutely the right call. Really glad Anderson David Palma ended up with a contract too!
A team I admire, no matter how you do and hope that the season lines up as you plan!

The mid-table folks seems very accurate - my projections have us in 10th, which feels like the definition of mid-table - although I guess that is technically a little above. Will share those when the time comes.
@KB - Eekhoff seems to be well supplied with people willing to help him out if the burden of leadership is too much.
@bikex - probably the last money we spend on him so time for him to start proving he merits the investment.
@MRE - the wonder of PCT calendar flexibility work in our favor.
@sean - yes that did look good for a while, still pretty pleased with 110k compared to the cost of other sprinters and hopefully his AC and PRL make that a really good return.

Think the team is definitely more well rounded than last season, even after Yates' decline. Really liked the choice of the two sprinters picked up from FA, and they should do quite well in PCT. Looking forward to an improvement in the standings as well

Solid team. Top 10 should be doable - maybe even a push for promotion with a bit of luck.

I wasn't sure about the addition of Eekhoff, but he could score pretty well in C2 cobbled races and if that's the case then it makes a lot more sense.

McCormick buying a cobbler probably just seemed wrong to you.

McCormick Pro Cycling celebrated one of the best months in team history in July.
Gage Hecht opened things up with a win at the GP Plouay, Nils Eekhoff came in 6th and the team scored 69 points. Hecht then led a great team performance in the Benelux Challenge. He finished in the top 20 on every stage and the top 11 on every GC stage. His consistency was rewarded with 2nd on the GC. He was joined in the GC top 10 by Dorian Godon. Godon and Eekhoff both had top 10 stage finishes as the team scored 239 points.
Ivan Sosa then carried the momentum into the mountains where he won the opening stage of the Tour d'Andorra which launched him 3rd on the overall GC. Juan Osorio chipped in with 3rd on Stage 3 and the team scored 206 points.
While there were no outstanding individual results at the Tour of Lithuania the team rode solidly and put 3 riders in the top 25 of the GC: Godon again, Jhonatan Narvaez and Nicolas Cabrera. The team was 2nd in the team's competition, and another 112 points were added to bring the team to 661 points for the month.
Team manager Ulrich Ulriksen celebrated a real "team" month, "I really enjoyed the combination of results with great rides from one of our marquee riders in Ivan, a team-developed American breaking out big points in Gage and depth scoring from new additions like Nils, Dorian and Juan."
The team also celebrated a number of milestones. Hecht's win in Plouay was the first race win by a US rider since Brandon McNulty won Stage 13 of the 2023 Tour of America and the first classic win since Ian Boswell won the Gisborne GP to open the 2022 season. It was also the team's 75th win since it was founded in 2019. While Sosa's win put the team in double digits for wins by non-US Americans.
Finally, July saw Quinn Simmons grab a daring breakaway win at the Tour de France while riding on loan at King Power. Said Ulriksen, "We are really looking forward to having Quinn riding in our colors next year as we make a push for promotion."
Hecht outsprints Anthony Turgis to win GP Plouay.

The Simmons win was very cool! I would not have expected it for an unmaxed rider so late in the race which shows his recovery in very meaningful for this kind of GT stage hunting in the future, obviously even moreso once maxed. Will have a bright future in the TOA or the PT GTs depending on where you're at!

2025 was McCormick’s seventh season in the mangame peloton and our philosophy of gradual improvement continues to bear fruit. We increased our point total over last year for the 5th straight season and we achieved our best ever placing of 9th in the PCT. Now some awards to celebrate the riders who got us there.
Brandon McNulty Young Rider of the Year
Prior Winners:
2024 Quinn Simmons
2023 Brandon McNulty
2022 Brandon McNulty
2021 Thanakhan Chaiyasombat
2020 Thomas Revard
2019 Daniel Habtemichael
With most of our young riders being very young there weren’t a lot of standout performances except for the Tour de France stage win. Given that is a huge “except for” and the same rider also won the USA National championship the award is obvious.
Mateo Frankovic Domestique of the Year
Prior Winners:
2024 Marco Haller
2023 Sepp Kuss
2022 Alex Hoehn
2021 Roman Seigle
2020 Mateo Frankovic
2019 Mateo Frankovic
McCormick focused more on the sprints this year than in recent seasons but didn’t enjoy any remarkable success so we won’t look to that discipline for the winner. We had more success in some “in-between” races like the Tour of Norway, the Tour of Lithuania and the Benelux Challenge. In those races we tended for deep teams rather than stand out leaders so it is harder to segregate the leaders from the domestiques but we'll save the two biggest scorers in these kind of races, Jhonatan Narvaez and Gage Hecht, for consideration in the next award. That leaves 5 names for consideration related to these races, Dorian Godon, Gregory Daniel, Nils Eekhoff, Nicolas Alejandro Cabrera and Juan Osorio.
Godon was the consummate luxury domestique picking up points in 8 different races while being a steady presence in support, riding at times for all of Navaez, Hecht and Ivan Sosa. His best result came in Benelux where he took 6th overall.
Daniels and Eekhoff didn’t achieve quite the successes that Godon did but both had a number of strong individual performances and were always on the team sheet when a TTT was on the parcours. By finishing 3rd in the Lincoln GP, Eekhoff scored the best ever result by a McCormick rider in a one-day cobbled race while Daniel’s individual highlight was 5th in the GC in Norway.
Cabrera and Osorio contributed both to these races and to the climbing squad that was the core of McCormick’s 2026 season. Cabrera was the highest scoring of this group of riders and scored GC top 15s in Norway, Lithuana and the Tour of America. At the Tour of America his breakaway efforts animated the race and he was a key contributor as McCormick won our first ever Tour of America team’s jersey. He was also one of only 3 riders to feature on the squad at 4 of the top 5 scoring races during the season (none featured in all 5).
Osorio was more focused on the climbing races than these others but his best point totals came at another “in-between” race, the Tour of South Africa where he took over as leader after Narvaez faltered in the TTT and finished 5th on GC. Osorio was also active in sprints after hilly stages and picked up a number of stage top 10s. For the season he scored just 1 point less than Cabrera.
The last candidates for this award were focused on the climbing races. 2023 winner Sepp Kuss completed another solid season as a key domestique in all the big climbing races although he lacked stand out individual results. Kuss completed his team leading 6th Tour of America and had his 4th top 20 GC finish (19th this year) and was selected by the team to accept the trophy for the Team’s jersey win.
The last two riders worthy of a mention in this category are 2022 winner Alex Hoehn and his fellow McCormick “original”, Thomas Revard. While neither scored a lot of points, both completed their 5th Tour of America and stood on the podium as the team claimed the Team’s jersey. Both also joined Cabrera in featuring in 4 of the 5 top scoring races during the season.
And the winner is:
Spoiler Nicolas Alejandro Cabrera
Dan Holloway Rider of the Year
Prior Winners:
2024 Adam Yates
2023 Brandon McNulty
2022 Lawrence Warbasse
2021 Ian Boswell
2020 Sepp Kuss
2019 Dan Holloway
The last award is reserved for the team’s leaders. Given the heavy climbing focus the obvious contenders are the top two climbers who fought out this award last year, Adam Yates and Sosa. But neither really matched their efforts from last year.
Age seemed to have sapped the punchiness that made Yates a daring attacker during most of his career. Instead, he chugged his way to moderate results, unfortunately mixed with some disastrous results, particularly in Poland where he was the defending champion.
Sosa put up a solid season with excellent results in his home tour, a stage win and 3rd overall in Andorra and his best 1-day finish for McCormick in the Pro Hallstatt classic. With McCormick poised on the edge of promotion Sosa had a chance to deliver a season-defining performance at the Tour du Maroc. Unfortunately, his performance was season-defining in a bad way, as he failed to even finish in the top 10 on GC. While he ended the season with 24 more points than last year, and also as McCormick’s all-time leading point scorer, it is hard to see him winning any awards while team management are still having nightmares about North African stage races.
With neither of the team’s top climbers seizing the day it opens the award up to other riders. With 264 points Aliaksandr Riabushenko had the best season by a McCormick sprinter since Luke Keough in 2021. But Keough never won this award and Riabushenko will have to do better than scoring 80 points in the last 7 months of the season to win.
Narvaez has been a great secondary leader for McCormick for a number of seasons and put up his 3rd straight year over 200 points. The highlight was back-to-back stage wins in the Tour of Norway that led to Narvaez’s first ever points jersey win. But the rest of the season lacked strong results and his points total was the lowest in any of his years with McCormick.
This leaves one rider who entered the season as an interesting all-rounder and finished it as one of the team’s unquestioned leaders – that is Gage Hecht. Hecht came with in a few feet of winning the Benelux Challenge, losing only on bonus seconds on the final day. But 2nd on GC was still an outstanding outcome and he added a win in the GP Plouay and 5th in the Lisbon Classic. Hecht’s 303 points were not only vital to the team achieving their top 10 finish goal but also made his manager feel smug, since he always thought that kind of upside was possible.
And after a first non-US winner last year the award returns home, the winner is:
