 [PTHC] Philadelphia Intl Championship
15 editions here in Philadelphia with very different winners, from the more punchy riders like Gilbert who won the first 2 additions, to punchy sprinters like Demare, Reimer and Kump to the last editions who has been generally won by more pure sprinters with Aniolkowki winning last year
| Year | Winner | Runner-up | Third | | 2024 | ANIOLKOWSKI Stanislaw | CULLAIGH Gabriel | GAVIRIA Fernando | | | | | | | | 2023 | HALVORSEN Kristoffer | KEMBOI Salem | ANIOLKOWSKI Stanislaw | | | | | | | 2022 | SILVESTRE Fabio | VESELY Daniel | DEMARE Arnaud | | | | | | | 2021 | KENNAUGH Peter | AHLSTRAND Jonas | EWAN Caleb | | | | | | | 2020 | KRAGH ANDERSEN Asbjorn | GUILLEN Marco | HARRIF SALLEH Mohamed | | | | | | | 2019 | KLUGE Roger | NEPOMNYACHSNIY Alexandr | CONNOLLY William | | | | | | | 2018 | ROELANDTS Jurgen | NAVARDAUSKAS Ramunas | VAN ASBROECK Tom | | | | | | | 2017 | KUMP Marko | VAN ASBROECK Tom | MODOLO Sascha | | | | | | | 2016 | REIMER Martin | HAUSSLER Heinrich | GUERAO Oscar | | | | | | | 2015 | DEMARE Arnaud | VAN HEERDEN Juan | SMUKULIS Gatis | | | | | | | 2014 | BRESCHEL Matti | VAN STAEYEN Michael | HOFFMAN Nolan | | | | | | | 2013 | HOFFMAN Nolan | KEOUGH Jake | VANTOMME Maxime | | | | | | | 2012 | COBO Juan José | RABON Frantisek | BERNUCCI Lorenzo | | | | | | | 2011 | GILBERT Philippe | SCHUMACHER Stefan | RICCO Riccardo | | | | | | | 2010 | GILBERT Philippe | PAOLINI Luca | GINANNI Francesco | | | | | | | | | | | |

This is a race for the fast guys and one thing is sure, the podium wont look anything like it did last year considering that none of them are back here this season. Suprisingly enough. However 2023 winner Halvorsen is present and among the big favorites, can he get his second victory? The biggest sprinter present however comes from PCT and has never won here before, could this be the year for Coquard? He got a strong leadout in Afewerki and Mudgway, so this could be his year!
The biggest competitor is most likely the Greece sprinter Farantakis, considering his team used to be French it is fitting that Zingle and Cavagna are his leadout.
Behind them we have a pair of strong riders in Philipsen (with Groselj as main helper) and Dainese (with a strong leadout in Coutinho, Rickaert and Wisniowski). Both riders who are more than strong enough to win this. The same can be said about Van Poppel (supported by Medvedev) and Kanter (with Gross as a strong leadout rider).
After them we can list up Jakobsen, Peak, Kemboi and Bonifazio. Then followed by Einhorn, Kragh Andersen, Hsu and Liu. All in all a very strong field here. This will be a tough fight, considering that there are many more riders who deserve to be mentioned, but you got to stop somehwere...

Our last race race of the season. By my calculations, the race for 2nd-5th place is very close, meaning we have a lot left to fight for still. Really hoping we can be on our best game!

Huge startlist probably means Kuli won't be able to do much. Hoping for a Top 20. Anything better will be great. Any points are welcome. The relegation race remains very tight!
Thanks for the preview Heine

We're here with Bini and Hodeg, but given the strength of the competition and what they've shown in flat classics this year, I don't expect much. Top 20 would arguably already be a success, and it's well possible to finish outside of the Top 30. But: With expectations this low, you can only be positively surprised
Thanks for the nice preview, and good luck everyone!

After a dreadful Praha, and a Lombardia that by no means fit our team, we can't fail here. We need atleast a podium, preferably a win - otherwise we are destined for 7th in the PT. Which prior to the season would be absolutely fine btw, but being so close to the podium it does feel a bit like a let down to drop that far back in the final month.

Hoping to see our jersey at some point during the race, as it will be a while before we get to ride at PHTC level again.

We haven't seen Jakobsen for a while! It's a fairly strong field but he's still capable of fighting for a Top 5. Have Thijssen here too + our main lead-out in Hesters.
Fingers crossed we can get a surprise result! Good luck all

We're fighting for survival but hopefully having Zijlaard here with him allows Einhorn a better shot of getting a strong result

Long time since we podiumed here in 2019. This time it would be as big of a surprise as back then, let's see what Hsu can do. Top 10 would already be nice.
Thanks for the preview! |

AKA's last race
We had enough magic for him in the Vuelta, but I wouldn't complain about getting just a little more! He's won here before after all.
Thanks for the preview!

One final race for Peak in our final race of the season. Given the year he's had it would be greedy to ask for another strong result, but have to hope for it right? |

Coquard hoping to close out his incredible season with a bang! This is his last race and if he wants to win the PCT individual standings he has to perform well here. He has shown he can do it so hopefully he can convert his favourite status into a top 3. Really anything lower then a top 5 is a bit disappointing tbh.
Thanks Heine for the preview!

Not expecting much from our Boys here. A top20 would be a good result for Adomaitis.

Another write-off. Too bad really! Just needed to keep momentum in the final 3 races to get a massive overall PT result. Instead it ends up feeling mediocre.
Congrats on the win!

As good a result as I could have hoped for in this field, and if we can hang on to our GC positions in South Africa, one that potentially gives us a chance at 2nd in the rankings. Congratulations to Nemo and thanks kb for the report! |

26th and 30th is pretty acceptable given expectations. Would've been cool to see Bini join some of those late attacks, even if they ended up unsuccessful. But still, solid.
Congrats Nemo! And thanks for the report kb

Congratulations, Nemo! Massive, massive win by Doffen
Very curious to see how this affects the pre-Lombardia ranking. Is there still hope for LPH? As an outsider, I must admit it would be cool to have the final monument with everything to play for regarding the final relegation spot.
Thank you for the report! |

Without spoiling things too much before the rankings update, I believe Los Pollos is now quite 'safe' as only two out of four teams in the relegation battle will go down. Highly unlikely two teams will pass them after this result (plus whatever they got in Praha).
Amazing result for them though. Congrats Nemo Mission successfully failed (mostly probably!)
Thanks for report kb
