Plapp picking the worst possible timing for a break appearance. I had very high hopes for him tomorrow and wanted him to save some energy today without losing too much time. He had not the best legs and lost time and i doubt will be at 100% tomorrow now.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

At least we burnt through our whole team!
Fingers crossed this is not how we are going to race as long as Valter stays inside the GC top 10 or close to it, as he should drop out with the TT, I hope Hopefully that makes for a change in tactics, where we rather are on the front foot and attack to join breakaways. Hopefully both Valter and JP Lopez can play a part in such stages later on
Thank you for the report, UU! Definitely enjoyed the read, eventhough I got frustrated at our tactics |

The stage started out bad with Aular and the team having to chase, but the team definitely made sure we quickly forgot about that with a great performance! Lopez Nolasco as the best of the break and getting 'close' to a stage win is I assume his career best performance, would not mind seeing him get similar results (and definitely a GC like that) with other breakaways. Maybe a KoM-run is a possibility, but we'll see stage by stage.
Big performance by Aular as well. Hopefully the second half of the Vuelta has more of this in store for us.
Thanks for the great report, Ulrich!

First proper mountain stage and it's a bunch of time lost by Champoussin. Hopefully, he'll go into breakaways now.

Its been a pretty discouraging race for us so far and very likely sealing our fate with relegation. Its interesting to see Godoy's race play out very differently from the Tour as he is well outside the top 10 at this point. Hopefully he will end up in the breakaway in later stages to salvage something. In any case, congrats to the winners so far, and thanks Ulrich for the hard work in reporting (despite our lack of success, it has definitely been fun to follow!)

Strong tt by Plapp. Still wish he didnt spend so much energy on the previous stage. Who knows what could have been otherwise...

Good TT by Valter! Staying just inside the top 10, but dropping to now being 7 minutes+ behind Herklotz is hopefully good news for the stages to come.
Congratulations on the stage win, Bikex. Definitely the pre-stage favourite, and good to see him pull through. |
