It was a rather surprising win by Hermans last year, but with the race getting a category upgrade this year, it will be even harder for the Belgian rider to defend his title. Interestingly enough no rider has won here twice. Boswell and Bennett are the only other previous winners on the startlist but it doesn't look likely that any of them could become the first rider to get mentioned twice here on the list of winners.
Eiking and Hirschi are the two top favorites to take the win this year, while Moscon is hungry for a good result after a disappointing title defense in San Luis earlier.
Vakoc, Gesbert, Van Niekerk Ardila and Kelderman complete the list of 80hill riders here, but it will be interesting to see what other stats will be in the mix to do well here. All the big favorites look well covered when it comes to the medium mountain stat as well, with MOL's Colombian climber clearly the best in that department. But his back up stats are by far the worst so he'll definitely be praying for the medium mountain to come into play here big time.

muich stronger spot for Moscon here hopefully this is hard enough for a top 5
Gesbert must be a strong fav with how long the course is which should rule out Ardila, Testfation and Sagan from good results find it hard to see any making the top 20. |

I had to give Bennett another go in Gisborne. Who knows Kelderman is our big man guy though. Hopefully we can get a decent result here! Points arenimportsnt for us at the moment!
Good luck everyone! Thanks for the preview

Hoping Lyu can stick around the favourites here, his medium mountain is easily the strongest in our lineup this year. But we do have a few options with Bettiol, Blouwe and defending champ Hermans also in the group. Hoping to be competitive though this does look like an extremely competitive race for C1 level.
Thanks for the preview Alex

In retrospect I should've probably sent Buitrago here but oh well. As JT said the length will play against Sagan, but he has overperformed on long races before this season, so who knows. Good luck everyone!

I'd say Sagan is the correct choice for this race.

Should be a suitable race for Gesbert with the long and quite hard course. Needs to preserve his power for the right moment though, which he does not always do!
Thanks for the preview!

Agreed think Buitrago would have struggled even more with his ST, Im actually surprised we didn't see Jorgensen, Eriksson and some of the other high ST riders turn up for this one i've noticed Vincent is lurking in Peugeots team but they have a good option in Vogt anyway so he probably wont get a chance |

In theory this should be a parcours that suits Errazkin, but given his underwhelming season so far I'm not expecting too much. Hoping that with Burke and Mansouri we have a trio that can get the equivalent of a top 10 between them in points terms. |

Could really do with a big performance from Storer as our recent form as a team has been horrid. Let's see how we go!

Top marks for Moscon couldn't have really done more once it came down to a sprint considering his limitations and a good result
Gesbert once again having the most left at the end might make a run on the Individual standings now
Vincent getting the leaders role over Vogt for Peugeot clearly paid off a top result for Heine
Once again feel for Sammy he probably thought Hirschi would do better then 6th from that group and he needs to start doing for them to stay up |

Honestly really happy with 3rd place for Wilco! Some great points. Obviously we had the chance for the win and couldn’t convert but the fact he was there is important and a 3rd place is great from our main hill climber!
Congrats Gesbert on the win and thanks for the report!

Wow, way to make it more exciting that it needed to be! Superb performance by Gesbert, nonetheless. Really happy about how he has performed this season.
A great start to the month, but we have a couple of more challenging stage races coming up now where it will be difficult to keep it up.
Thanks for the report!

AvN having no stamina in a sprint is expected so finishing seventh is OK. Rubio coming in ninth is the real highlight of this race for us, great job!
Congrats Sykkel and thanks alex for the report

Anonymous race for us. Vandenabeele in the breakaway, but caught before the TV transmission went live.
Adequate performance from Azman for once. 19th is decent in this field, too long parcour to expect a top 10 from him.
Thanks for the report
