Goldstein and Gonzalez Salas are the first to go. The Israeli champion finishes with a time of 33’25, quickly beaten by the Spanish at 33’08. Norsgaard has a surprising result and is provisional 2nd, at +0’04.

It’s not as good for Rekita (+0’21) or Erdenebat (+0’25). Ocampo, on the other hand, takes the hot seat: 33’07.

Behind, Mullen is coming fast to the Arc of Triumph. He’s 7 seconds faster and finishes in 33 minutes sharp. But Zmorka smashes that: 32’44.

Razumov is 42 seconds off the pace, provisional 9th. The Russian champion Zakarin is even slower, at 58 seconds.

Christakos gets a decent time to finish this batch.

There should be less very good time-trialists in this group, and also no too big GC riders yet.

If Haig manages to climb a bit more in the GC, John will be happy to have contributed, at least in the TTT. He won’t make the difference today, 1’30 off the pace.

In the fight for the 2nd position in the young rider classification, Krasts loses 2’09 to Zmorka, when Hayter is 1’31 off. Balmer lost 1’34, so there shouldn’t be any change at the top of this classification.

Kämna is a bit less than 1’ off the pace and could climb a bit in the GC. Lopez Nolasco (+2’23) and Eastman (+1’33) are relatively bad today.

Leemreize is fastest than Eenkhoorn, but still loses an abysmal 4’48.

We’re in the real GC battle! All the directeurs must be biting their nails, as I sure am!

Foss begins, 1’07 off the pace, which is quite a good result for him. Phinney, remains a good time-trialist, even after three long weeks, and loses only 45 seconds. Geoghegan Hart is a bit slower, at +0’49.
