What a final stage! Power with 4th and Bennett and Rodriguez also improve in their GC positions. Honestly turned out a lot better then it was on stage 6! Marryatt 3rd in KOM and Carlos 4th in U25. Way better and the amount of points increase massively after the final stage! Great work team!
Thanks for the previews and congrats to the winner!!

One of the weirdest races I've been a part of! 3 stage wins is more than we had all season before this race, which is awesome. Hayter also with a surprise high placing in the Points, which we were not expecting. Leemreize with 13th in the GC is also a good return him personally. However, the big failure is Haig, and with just TDF left for him, his season looks to be a complete wash! We came to this race mainly for the GC and the U25s and achieved neither. The team did their best elsewhere to compensate, which was nice to see, but we'll still end up just a bit short points-wise.
Congrats to BW, thanks for the reports kb and to wj for posting them!

Masterful job by Schlegel to leave it until the final stage. He never disappoints!

I'll be surprised if get to 10 PpRD here. With Schlegel and Ackermann as "leaders" this is sure to be a dogshit race.
Job done
Thanks for the reports.

Thanks for the team effort to get this race out. This was pretty nerve wracking to follow. It's especially hard to watch some of the nonsensical results from Haig and McNulty. Though I have to think Abhi is okay with the stage wins. In the end I'm relieved Kudus was able to pull it off. Thats the end of the season for him, so all downhill from here for us

Obviously Skjelmose's premiere race to date (besides his l'Avenir win I guess)! I knew he was never gonna hang with Kudus when he tried to follow in the finale, but the fact that he got to that point safe and in contact was already enough for me. He was alert and following the right wheels. In the end he's a weaker climber with weaker stamina, but he still put up a very brave performance to hold onto the podium. Obviously way beyond the top 10 I was hoping for. A great points boon for us, but also just really cool to see him featuring so prominently at this level while wearing the white jersey.
Now we'll see if he can follow this up at the Tour. I fear I might have ruined his AI for that by sending Gregaard there with him as a breakaway guy (since Gregaard is the stronger climber in this version with his stamina), but still, it's optimistic for our white jersey fight to see him competing at such a high level against the best in the world.
Congrats to UBS and thanks for the reports!

We managed to keep our top10 GC, only dropping back to our Pre TT position so that should be good points towards our relegation fight

Choi avoids complete humiliation with a 2nd place from the breakaway on the final stage, but we'll still remember this race as a failure from the team:

Thanks for the reports!

Two poor performances in the deciding stages ruin a promising first MTF. 10th isn't disastrous, looking particularly at Haig and McNulty, but it's below standard.
Congrats on the win, Bush. Congrats on the pyrrhic victories as well, Abi! Appreciate all the reports, kb, you've been amassive contributor, thanks!

Ayuso wasn't the ideal man to send in the breakaway here, but nice to see him try. A shame Lopez Nolasco lost some places because of that tactic of course. Crazy to see Sony get three stage wins in a row with three different riders, happy for them after the Haig bullshit!
Thank you for the fantastic reports, kb, and thank you for posting, wj!

Could have been a lot worse, we probably scored better than expected here but disappointed by our lack of interest in the break on the final stage. Congrats Bushwackers and thanks for the reports kb and wj! |
