Finally a big win for Siric (and the team as well)! It's cool to see a rider who got so much training deliver!
Thanks. He's the one rider that keeps me going the most.

Martin Hvastija:
Before this year Ivan had an excellent record at this race. I think we just have to chalk it up to a bad day and move on. Three more riders in the top 50 is one of our better depth results so we'll take that as a bright spot, but missing out on our sponsor goal is a bitter pill to swallow.

Two opposite results from Siric, but overall the cobbles look to have improved the team's results to quite an extent. Hopefully the team can keep this going

We'll keep this one brief. This was an up and down month, but the ups slightly outweighed the downs. March is the month with the most cobbled races so we brought in the most points this season thanks to Ivan Siric. The big highlight being his historic win in the E3 classic. The other high scoring race was Ronde van Nederland where Pascal Ackermann finally showed what he's capable of if everything is lined up for him. On the other hand Colombia, Cheshire and RVV were the disappointing races. We improved to 6th in the table and the PpRD is better, but still way below a lot of other teams. Unless we make the Giro count it's unlikely we'll have a month where we score more than we did here.

Martin Hvastija:
As always with this race it was a hard day in the saddle, but despite his struggles Ivan showed great resilience to get back in contention after every time he got dropped. As a result he was able to enter the velodrome with everyone else and sprint for his 2nd place. Anything can happen, especially in a race like Roubaix, but the lesson to be learned here is to never give up and ride your own race for as long as you can.

Roubaix was a great race from Siric! The Giro result also looks good on paper despite the absence of stage results. I hope your riders get more active in the coming races to fight against the growing frustration!

Tadej Valjavec:
While a 2nd place finish is our best result at a Grand Tour we are far from labelling this race as a success. The other GC contenders and other lesser riders were all able to come away with stage wins and/or multiple high placements on stages. We didn't get much scoring outside of Tadej and we missed out on our 3rd sponsor goal. All in all and underwhelming race that pretty much means that Tadej will score less points than in 2024 despite the training investment.

I think you might be a little harsh on Tadej here. It makes perfect sense that you want your training to mean something in terms of improvement on the road. And scoring wise, it obviously sucks not to get many stage points or extras, which can be the difference between a meh and great GT. But it's clear in this engine that most of those are gonna go to breakaways for better or worse. Those are largely RNG luck for any team, and seem to be especially scarce when you have a big GC guy.
Overall though, the win goal was always going to be tough once Kudus decided to enter, and Pogacar ended up beating everyone he was supposed to including some big names. Definitely not a great GT, but 2/10 feels a bit harsh. You were still the sixth highest scoring team in the race. It feels like there were definitely scenarios where it could have gone worse (say, the exact same race happens, but Pog ends up 5th or 6th due to breakaway riders passing him).

With all of our climbers at the Giro our expectations here were fairly modest, but given the lack of top riders at the race 18th feels like a missed opportunity for Michal to have at least one good result this season.

We started off April in a great way with Ivan Siric' surprising 2nd place in Paris-Roubaix. Unfortunately everything went downhill after that. An uneventful Giro d'Italia couldn't be saved by a runner up overall finish. Tadej Pogacar is on course to score about the same amount of points as he did back in 2023 as an 80 MO rider. GP Liechtenstein was an opportunity for Schlegel, but he failed us again. Veenendaal and Amstel Gold were races where scoring was never expected and so it turned out. We sit 5th in the rankings, but with our one Grand Tour card played and the payoff being significantly lower than expected our PpRD leaves us in mid-table with concerns for the rest of the season.
