March is over, let's see what has changed in the rankings.
Ekoi - Le Creuset takes the top spot beating out Bolt - Eesti with the French team leading their charge with 167pts at Tour of Ukraine while Estonians main source of points was the Tour Of Norway and 222pts scored there.
McCormick Pro Cycling strong efforts in Tour of Norway and Veulta A Colombia with over 200pts at each leaves them 3rd for the month. DK Zalgiris Specialized and MOL Cycling Team all cracking 500pt for the month as well.
Down at the bottom of the table we have the usual suspects of DeNA Roadstars & IESE ProCycling Team both scoring under 100pts again this month and suddenly looking a long way back from safety. Spark Team NZ had a first rough month of the season as well going under 100pt.

This leaves Specialized top of the division a strong start all-around for the Canadian outfit, Ekoi - Le Creuset is hot on their tails behind with surprise package Bolt - Eesti in 3rd. Assa Abloy drop to 4th but lead the PPRD standings ahead of the lightly raced DK Zalgiris team currently.
Down at the bottom Simba Cement - Tanga Fresh join IESE ProCycling Team and DeNA Roadstars as being cut off in the relegation race all are now more then 250pts from safety. Colombini Kometa had a big month nearly entirely down to Powless and climb closer to the relegation line. Two dissapointing races from Hirschi brough Sauber Petronas Racing into the relegation zone currently.

Onto the rider rankings then and Biniam Girmay is the new number 1 as the Wonderkid is coming closest to breaking the 500pt mark but the big movers this month were Tiesj Benoot, Neilson Powless & Mathieu Van der Poel all moving into the top 15 with seriously impressive numbers on the month. Neilson Powless also getting performance of the month for his 221pt effort at Tour Of Norway

The sim did us very dirty a couple of times and it shows. We should have scored way more points and I hope stupid things like in the Tour of Eritrea or Tour of Britain don't continue to happen. Otherwise I see no sense in participating stage races, hence the MG.

Not the greatest of months for us, mostly due to poor results on the cobbles. Wisniowski on 212 points with most of his cobbles calendar already behind him says it all. Tour of Norway was also a difficult race for us, but that was to be expected.
On the other hand, Gesbert is having a really great season and the win in Tour of Britain was a fantastic highlight for us!
Limited racing coming up in April for us. Tour of Slovenia will probably be another tough race for us, considering its similarities to Tour of Norway. On the other hand, Badaling, Wallonie and Lisbon should be great opportunities for Gesbert and Dainese.
Thanks for the update!

Nice to see Kaspa jump up the rankings after an immaculate Franceville, even if he has been disappointing elsewhere this season. Cannot be too unhappy with being in the lead but it also comes at the expense of a ton of RDs commited at this point in the season. 20 pprd with the most RDs spent is for sure not the most worrisome outlook in terms of promotion, but with a solid chunk of Kaspa's RDs already come and gone it means that he has three races to add to his scoring this year in Rheden, Benelux and Arenberg he still needs strong performances in those races for us to be able to manifest our promotion charge.
It does seem like 3 out of the 5 relegation spots are already handed out, but the battle for the final two spots could become quite bloody, time will tell!
Thanks for the update jt!

Thanks for the update, jt! It's obviously been a pleasure to read it for me
This was a great month from the team, clearly led by the cobbles squad but also the others have contributed greatly! Let's keep this up for some more months to achieve our top 10 ranking goal and maybe we can actually fight for promotion this season, especially with the 2nd highest PpRD atm.

It was supposed to be a better month than February, but it wasn't despite our first stage and classic win. Van Niekerk clearly not where I expected him to be Bjerg is also less effective. It has to better next month.
Thanks for the update jt!

Always sad to see the promotion teams right at the relegation spots, but one was already known from season start. Nice to see Colombini get some of the benefit of the Powless training though and really compete to catch up the remaining gap.
Haven't been paying as much attention to the PCT cobbles but frankly surprised to see Girmay top the rankings. Not sure if I missed a race or two, but this has to come from consistency instead of specific individual results which is a cool thing to see.

ngl, I kinda forgot Hirschi was at Izola, but I think the bigger issue with our scoring has been using all our C2 days by the end of Feb and how many cobbles were in March, definitely a terrain we aren't up to speed on quite yet

Very mid-table performance for us both real and projected. Would be nice to improve a little and get that top 10 goal.

Well another rough month. It’s hard not having any other scorers apart from Coquard. He is back in the next month of racing which should help! Need some riders to pick up the scoring as well though. Carlos Rodriguez needs to try and step up as well.
Thanks for the update!

Thanks jt for the update!
Min saved us in Tour of Britain, otherwise this was an ugly month. Still a nice cushion towards the relegation spots.

Thanks for the update JT! As someone said on discord, it’s going to be a dogfight for the final 2 relegation spots. We’re only just hanging on based on PPRD right now, but this is getting a little stressful, especially as Stallaert has been slightly underwhelming in the cobbles races this year. We’ll need Faglum Karlsson to continue his good form, and Bettiol/Lyu to pop up with some big results, along with Dewulf/Hermans in C2 races to come.
We’re certainly not helped by the big point scoring by PCT teams in the C2 races that we haven’t attended…
Lots of races to go, but already this is clearly going to be a tough season!

March was a very good month for us after two fairly average ones to start the season. When projecting scoring based on last season I'd hoped to be at about 1125 points at this point, but seeing how we fared in pre-season predictions I thought that may have been far too optimistic. So to be at that kind of point total already is promising, even if the focus remains mainly on staying up rather than fighting for promotion.
That may sound slightly pessimistic, but we're almost out of cobbled races we can hope to score big in (Benelux aside), our performances in hilly races have been fairly awful so far, and Zariff has struggled. I can't see that changing massively based on what I've seen of PCM24 so far, so we may have a few rough months ahead - though hopefully we only need another 500 or so more points for safety. |

We are starting to see some clear trends here with IESE and DENA looking doomed at the bottom and several teams at the top with good pprd.

Well, the silver lining is that Novak has not yet started his season. Once he arrives, our points tally will go up - it won't be by much, but at least it will be something.
Do I regret not signing up for Monterrey? Well, yes, but also no. Sure, I've lost the chance at free ranking points, but on the other hand I didn't believe that my TTT team was competitive enough without Cataford and Kukrle to earn meaningful points.

As Stannard's fist meaningful month I was expecting some more leeway to the relegatoin battle, but his season has been an absolute blunder. Scoring a mere 30 points in Britain, a race we should be in the mix for the victory, really highlights this issue. Our cobbles depth is giving us some security at least, thankfully.
Some great strides towards the top from Ekoi, Bolt, McCormick and Zalgris. Specialized, MOL and Assa Abloy keep their momentum as well. Hunter a bit under the expectations, hopefully they'll turn that around.
Thanks for the update, jt!
