Stage 4 Report

The final stage is the shortest stage of the race at just 111k. Two sprints and a Cat 4 KOM but pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/taf.png Hansen has that competition locked up.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/kmm.png Bol bossed the race yesterday and today has another sharp uphill finish so not surprising to see him as the top favorite again. Today’s finish is not as steep, the last k averages 4.6% with a max of 5.3%.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S4/favs.jpg

The first sprint comes after 13k and the first 4 attackers take it. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/taf.png Belevics beats pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/esk.png Huby and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eus.png Zubov. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gla.png Geary also in the move. Huby is U25 eligible so the bonus seconds give him the virtual lead. This group has 1’40. Looks like we will have a larger break today as a another group of 4 is just 37 seconds behind and it appears the peloton is letting them go.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S4/01.jpg

The second group includes pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/t3a.png Cole, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/taf.png Feldmann, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gla.png Wade, and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/esk.png Donaldson. The 8 come together with 86k to go and a 2’25 lead.

At the second sprint Cole beats Huby and Wade. Lead still only about 2’30 as the peloton isn’t willing to let this large group get too far ahead.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S4/02.jpg

Cole takes the KOM ahead of the same two at the last sprint. That gives him the points he needs to move ahead of Donaldson into 2nd on the KOM jersey.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S4/03.jpg

40k, after briefly letting the lead reach 2’48 the peloton has it is back to 2’18. Bianchi’s pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/enb.png Sangulin helping out the chase in addition to the usual suspects from Kraftwerk, Ethiopian and Kone-Nordea.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S4/04.jpg

The break begins to disintegrate soon after with Belevics, Donaldson and Geary all dropped.

Cole and Wade soon follow and with 16k to go the sprint trains bring the last 3 survivors to heel.

4k to go, trains look like this.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S4/06.jpg

2.5k to go, the Ethiopian train appears to be trying to cut off Kone-Nordea on the right while the Kraftwerk train in the middle seems disorganized and Darder again struggling to keep pace for Euskadi.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S4/07.jpg

1.6k, Kraftwerk have fallen apart and the only Kraftwerk rider in the picture is Kock. Kone held their position on the left and Koppe is staring the leadout for Mannien. Eislers doing the same for Perera. Gibbons the next man in the picture. On the right an acceleration from Marin may be bringing Walscheid and Carsi back. With 1.6k to go and much of it up hill things could still change.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S4/08.jpg

Under the 1k banner although still 1.1k to go. Eislers has given Ethiopian a slight lead. Darbinyan has found Perera’s wheel with Gibbons shunted into the wind, Walscheid following him and then Sliva. Major and Ahlstrand following Darbinyan. Marin on his own on the right with Carsi not able to hold his wheel and dropping back behind Hayakawa and Plowright who trail the group on the left. Bol still well back fighting through fading leadout men.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S4/09.jpg

600 meters the leadouts still going but the pace is fading. The riders mentioned above have a small gap (except Carsi who couldn’t hold the wheels is dropping back). Harrison has fought to the front of the chasers and is launching his sprint but Bol is not on his wheel.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S4/10.jpg

200 meters, Noppe still on the front, Eislers seems to have cracked. Gibbons launching on the right.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S4/11.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/enb.png Gibbons takes another win for Bianchi. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/kno.png Noppe is the second Kone leadout to take a great result as he holds on for second, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/kno.png Mannien third.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S4/12.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eth.png Perera edges pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ofg.png Hayakawa for fourth. Then pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/esk.png Darbinyan and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eth.png Eislers

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S4/13.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/tzk.png Walscheid is 8th followed by pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ipc.png Silva and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/see.png Ganjkhanlou.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S4/14.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eth.png Perera was the most consistent sprinter in the race and takes the GC, continuing his strong season. After a so-so first three days pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/enb.png Gibbons remembers he is drinking the Bianchi juice and grabs a second place on GC. After delivering a textbook leadout yesterday Kraftwerk do the opposite today and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/kmm.png Bol doesn’t take any bonsus second but he still holds on to 3rd in the GC, with pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/kmm.png Harrison in 5th still an nice race for the Germans. Another German team takes 4th with pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/tzk.png Walscheid.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/kno.png Manninen gets a disappointing 6th on GC which would have been better if his teammates didn’t keep beating him, they do get 7th (Kiskonen) and 12th (Noppe) on GC as consolation.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/C2/Guadeloupe/S4/podium.jpg

Gibbons does take the points jersey ahead of Perera and Bol. Huby’s opportunistic day in the break gives him the young rider jersey ahead of Plowright. In the teams competition the scoring positions went to Kraftwerk, Ethiopian and Bianchi, in that order.
