Two as good talent signings as can be announced together! Congrats on the signings Grin

Nemolito
And here we are with our two (final?) signings of the transfer season.

The first name was not even on our watchlist at the start of the transfer window. Nevertheless, as time went by, options were reducing, and I took another good look at the list of talents, he became very interesting to us. We would like to welcome the young Greek Nikiforos Arvanitou to the team! The future punchy sprinter will be developed to a better rider at Bralirwa - Cegeka this season, who used the loan-in fee to buy Hatem Ben Ameur from us as well, having spent his previous/first season there as well on a loan.

The second rider of today comes from Sweden. Jakob Soderqvist is a strong future time trialist and even more prologue rider. Currently it looks like he'll need one more year to be able to reach his maximum potential, as not enough funds are available to loan him out and get him as far as we'd like this season. In case Pira finds a team that wants to loan him for the ridiculous low fee of 210k, this could still be the case.

Really wanted Soderqvist early, but in the end I couldn't justify signing three time trial talents in one transfer season. Congrats! Hope you're able to get the 1>3 loan for him.

Dear Hermanos family, we're happy to announce we managed to secure a 1-3 loan for Soderqvist. He will go to Specialized, following in Malacarne's footsteps.

To accomplish this loan, we had to give up Pira. A legend in the making, but his story will continue at Sony - Force India, forming a dreamteam with Marlen Zmorka. In a trade for him we received the necessary Soderqvist cash as well as a one year mountain domestique replacement in the Filipino national champion Jonel Carcueva.

In addition to him, we also finally signed a stag again, which has been a while. Francesco Busatto will most likely race two cobbled classics. Sorry, Francesco. At least you get some money for it!

I know the plan going ahead is for home-grown riders and talents, but I think you still have a decent shot at staying in the PT this time! If Higuita and Halvorsen live up to their stats, it is not out of reach! Will be rooting for that Grin

I can only agree, that this build is for the future indeed - and a very solid future! I really do hope it's enough for you to stay up, but I am a bit concerned tbh. But then again, I can't say that your setup is weaker than mine, so if you go down I'm likely to join you Grin

Relegation is a possibility, but not at all certain as you still have some really nice riders. And with your big amount of great talents (including the likes of Ayuso and Vacek who will already be scorers from next season on) you could actually make this rebuild work without ever going down as this squad will only get better given your great age structure. I'll be rooting for the chickens!

Thanks for the comments. Although it would be possible to stay in if the leaders overperformed, I think for the team it would be better to relegate, knowing that we'll sell the other non self developed leaders next year, and relegating then would cause even more trouble with the wage cap in PCT Pfft But we'll still try to in with our planning!

Great roster age-wise and region-wise. A textbook example for me how to build a team.

I'm curious if you'll survive this season. Future looks bright anyway! Grin

No no, please feel free to intentionally tank your team in planning. It'll be good for keeping the wages down! Pfft

The age profile of those leaders is such that even if you do go down, you'll be in a good position to run it back and bounce straight back up, even more so if you can find some training funds for them.

Leader planning 1/2

The fans want to know where our riders will race, so here we are with the calendar for Sergio Higuita. As mentioned before, we don't need to stay in, so have some room to try stuff out, but still want to see our riders score well hopefully.

Sergio will not go to Tirreno or P-N like last year, but will focus on the Luxembourgian classic Grand-Duché this time. Nice preparation for San Remo. We don't expect him to do that well there, but he deserves redemption after his puncture before the Poggio last season. Unlike last season he will not share leadership with Halvorsen in both Nederland and Scandinavia, and he's obviously our leader in the Ardennes triple and Lombardia.

His home race in Colombia is a fun addition to his calendar, but perhaps most surprising is his attendance at the Tour de France. We figured the Herklotz', Areruya's and who knows what else might be at the Vuelta anyway, so we hope his hybrid skills can see him compete for stage success in the Tour rather than hoping for podium spots in the Vuelta!

Onto our sprinter, Kristoffer Halvorsen. The Norwegian won a stage at the Vuelta last year, which was an important point in our team's history, completing the GT stage triple.

He will waste no time on the training roads at the start of the season, immediately racing in Tasmania and Qatar. He did quite well in Qatar last year with a fifth place, a repeat would be great. Halvorsen will then race in Luxembourg to aid Higuita to a nice result, but most of all to practice his uphill skills.

He'll need those in Italy, where he will race in the Giro in April. A stage win would be nice, following in the footsteps of the legendary Wilco Kelderman. Four sprint classics are then followed by the Irish sprinter's festival Ras Tailteann, after which he'll go for stage glory in the Czech Republic. He will end his season in Philadelphia.

Nice for Higuita to do his home race, hopefully the combo skills play well there. As others have said impressive roster in a few years.

Can't say I agree completely with the Higuita planning but I'll just accept that you had a process to go with this and that was the best for him, and the likes of Aular as well. Hopefully he and you get over some of that dreaded luck from the last season. Quite straightforward planning for Halvorsen, hope that pays off as well!

Seems like we were never able to get to our second part of our leader planning, oops! Guess the people will just have to see where Aular, Lopez Nolasco and Ocampo will be sent to. Surprise surprise. We still want to give a small update on the highlights of the team so far. Not every race will be dealt with, just the positive highlights.

The sprinting part of the Tour of Qatar (PT) definitely wasn't positive with Halvorsen finishing 61st and without a really good stage result, but we were happy to see Aguilar Mendez win the white jersey with a decent epilogue result from him. First win of the season! And yes, U25 jerseys count as a win.

But if you want to have an even more convincing win, let me take you to Luxembourg for the Classique du Grand-Duché (PT). Colombian superstar Sergio Higuita went solo with 20 kilometres to go, and the others never saw him again. Winning the first PT classic in the history of the team and beating big names Herklotz, Areruya and Lopez, wow! Picture below of Sergio in the attack.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PT/GrandDuche/PCM0016.jpg

No good GC result in Paris - Nice (PT), but we'll focus on the positive stuff. Loanee Yamamoto enjoyed some days in the polka-dots, and homeboy Ruiz managed to finish second in that classification. Picture of Yamamoto enjoying his moment in the spotlights below.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PT/ParisNice/PCM0038.jpg

Tirreno - Adriatico (PT) was a success. Even though we lost Zmorka and Sütterlin, among others, the team still managed to finish fifth in the TTT. A very consistent Aular managed to finish sixth in GC, punching above his weight. New arrival Ayuso and recently maxed Galvan Ramirez finished second and third in the U25 classification.
