Ladies, and gentlemen. We've obviously finished with transfers for quite some time but we'll have a quick rundown of anything not yet covered in the previous posts. Only one incoming rider hasn't been covered yet and it might be a kind of 'panic buy' as I wanted to be sure we had enough riders.

Guillaume Haldimann comes in as a stagiaire, he's not a bad rider but yeah. Spent our last wages on him and he probably wont ride for us.

Outgoing transfers
I'm not going to spend a huge amount of time on this, is it sad to see some team legends going? For sure, but we have to look to the future. Can't promise when or whatever, but we will create some form of tribute to the legendary riders who have worn our shirts the last three years. In particular for guys like Reis, Afewerki, Quispe, and the unforgetable Lahcen Saber. But that's not why we're here today.

Rafael Reis, a name that will be recalled in the future whenever our early years in the ManGame are discussed. Big money flop in our first PCT year, dominating Underdog in our second. The man literally went home, only to go big the year after. His floppiness in 2023 might have almost relegated us, while his dominant performance in 2024 almost single handidly brought us to the promised lands. I would've loved to have kept him, even if it's just until a certain talent maxes out. But alas, Rafael is 33 by now and with the dwindling number of pointscorers that remain we needed a big hitter. Rafael leaves us for 600K bananas, and will don the iconic yellow and blue for the Minions. We wish him all the best, may he come second behind Eastman, god bless.

While Reis may have almost tanked us in 2023, Afewerki definitely kept us up. The man was an overperforming machine. Never a big hitter but always consistently finishing in that edge of top 5-top 10 area to score big points over the season. But let's be honest, I blame us missing promotion last year on him. He was decent don't get me wrong, but where he overpeformed in some races he also flopped in others where we definitely expected something. Also 33, we no longer believe his stats would get us a worthy amount of points so ciao Elias. He crosses the big blue ocean and leaves us for 150K to Spark NZ.

Alain Quispe. That's it, no further explanation. The man is a living, breathing legend. Scored points always and everywhere even if it was only a handful. Won a stage in the Arab Tour back in our 2022 CT season. We needed the wage, cash was never really the issue for us as we never spent 'actual' money on any incoming riders. He leaves us for the minimum fee to Ekoi, I wish him many more legendary races.

Moiruri and Marigny-Lagasse were pretty anonymous riders for us so, bye bitches. The only other rider we should mention is Juan Ayuso. Last season our intention was honestly just all out onto promotion so we had the big bucks to sign Isaac Del Toro. We pulled out of that idea, mainly because some conversations all lead to the same conclusion. Why waste our chances on one of the best stage racing talents of the year to wait for a certain Mexican that might not be of the same caliber. Well, Del Toro had a stellar season working up to this pre season and is definitely of the same caliber. So Adios Juan, was nice knowing you but Torito is my one and only love.

Technically we made some profit on Juan, as in the assets we recieved for him have a higher total value than we had spent in loan fees so whatever. We got our big points scorer in Eastman, and got a handful of other riders to sell off again and recieve the cash needed/wanted to train some riders.

All in all, transfers was a bit too calm for my liking. But yeah that's what you get for spending half of your budget on one talent. It'll be worth it in the long run for sure. I wanted to cover our training in the same post but it seems I have run out of time once again. So, along with our first training post we will also announce our full squad for the season tomorrow! See you later lads, cheers.

Training time!
For the first time in the history of Colombini, we've managed to get the funds together to train two(!) of our lads! Why stress about bidding for an absolute star when you can create one? Neilson Powless was already a very good rider, don't get me wrong, but he really lacked that extra punch to be considered a points scorer. So, I spent a big amount of cash to get him that extra punch. Let me show you what we've done.

No clue what his current OVL is but he becomes our highest OVL rider on the team.
With the infamous Eddie Dunbar stuck in PT, we figured a TT artist who felt comfortable at altitude was missing in the division. Ofcourse he isn't as punchy as Dunbar, but he does become one of the best timetrialing climbers around and should pay back in a decent amount of points!

We also really tried to get Houcaine El Sabbahi a fair cash injection but the lack in interest in the riders we had on the chopping block means we missed the necessary cash for it. So, we trained a multi-National Champion from San Marino. That's right, Federico Olei has grown as a rider after his C2 victory in god knows where.

It's not much but it's honest work. Olei isn't a bad rider so to speak, always stuck behind that demon Vliegen. Perhaps he shows his killer instinct this season? Anyways, a slight push in the hills department wouldn't hurt and we had no other way to use the cash so YOLO.

Now, let me present to you all our team for the 2025 season! We're capped out in every way so it's finito! Meet the Colombini Kometa riders.

The team looks quite shit, I won't lie. But realistically only Eastman, Powless, El Sabbahi, Xandri, and Olei are maxed. Everyone else is still training so yeah, a very future centered team at the moment. Felix Sprenger, Kwanele Jele, Youssef Bdadou, Daniel Bonello, and Stan Martino will be maxing out this season so the top half should look more stacked coming into 2026!

Thanks for reading lads, cheers.

Cool to see two of our former riders getting some love! Will be interesting to see how many Jorgenson vs. Powless battles we see this season.

Exciting training for Powless! He should score tons this year.

Hope that training him means you plan to keep Powless next year, because keep him away from me please! Beastly upgrade. And really love a Sanmarinese training. Seems like even if you go down as you're prepared to, you'll have some big moments and go out in style, at least with the American duo, which is always the best way to have a tank year. Congrats on Del Toro, and congrats to your accountant who I'm sure will be paid a similar figure as he begins work on next year's renewals and mock transfer sheet already Wink

Don't really get the Olei training from a logical perspective, but as a manager doing exactly this to keep regional riders relevant I love it!

Also Powless to 80TT is a real power move! I think that will make the difference between having him as a solid rider to a real leader. Well played!

Almost forgot Olei was bought off of you aswell, but I don't expect Powless to measure up to Jorgenson if he gets the training I expect him to Pfft.

baseballlover312 wrote:

That's the plan I hope! Powless was Reis' second in command but didn't get much opportunity to really shine, so with this training he should be on that higher level. Besides, for Powless' wage there's virtually no real affordable leaders of similar quality.

Ideally yes, you never know what the future has in store, but with Eastman having another downgrade he won't be up to par anymore should we survive. So in a way Powless is getting ready to take top spot at the team for atleast a few years. I haven't been as commited to the San Marino grind as Sammy, but they're still my big love Pfft It's not that I 'prepared' for the drop, more that I accept the risk and will deal with it when it comes.

Speaking of an accountant, you know a good one? Seems mine had a stroke seeing that winning bid roll through.

Wasn't super logical tbh, but having cash but no spare wage doesn't leave alot of options unless giving up half to carry over to next season which sounded silly to me. National focus + spare cash = why not Pfft

That's the plan, hopefully Pfft, he wasn't bad last season but obviously lacked that extra step to fight at the top. Plan was to get him to 80mtn already, but with Eastman it barely would be worth it planning wise. Having that strong TT opened another side of the calendar we don't normally adventure into.

kandesbunzler26
Eastman is still one of the divisions best stage racers and Powless could be the new Dunbar, but behind them it's mostly hit and hope (and to be honest even more hit than hope) so the danger of relegation is realistically rather big. But if anyone can magic his way out it's clearly you!

With the team finalized, it was time to get those NC shirts sorted! So let's see who will wear which nation's colours on their backs for the season!

Andorra

Jan Xandri has been an important piece of the team ever since we promoted to the PCT, and this year once again he will ride around in that by now characteristic tricoleur on his back!

i.imgur.com/XvcCysO.png

Liechtenstein

Felix Sprenger was picked up back in our first and only CT season, last year he wore the Liechtensteiner colours already, and this year he's the double champion for another year.

i.imgur.com/eIv4wxx.png

Morocco

Can't even remember how long for we've had atleast one Moroccan champion riding for us, doubt Saber was the champion back then but Houcaine El Sabbahi has been the road champion for a bit now. He once again get's to wear the iconic red on his back. This year however, our other Moroccan Youssef Bdadou will get to wear the same during timetrials!

i.imgur.com/ikB4uLZ.png

Malta

The Maltese championship has been monopolized for several years now and we continue to do so! Only this time it's Luke Borg who has the Road NC in his possession. Sadly, we missed out on the TT Championship but that won't take us long to regain!

i.imgur.com/LR0hUn6.png

SAN MARINO

We only missed out on the iconic Sanmarinese championship once, and never again! This year, Andrea Aquilani has stepped out to be the biggest of the bunch in our home nation. That white and blue ever so iconic for us!

i.imgur.com/ovbVlGh.png

eSwatini

My memory is super horrible so I have no recollection if we have ever had the eSwatini champion in our midst, but I am sure as hell we do now! Kwanele Jele will wear this beautifully coloured shirt this year to represent one of the smallest nations on the African continent. Easily one of my favorite riders on the team because of his special statline and obscure nationality ofcourse!

i.imgur.com/bbREsKX.png

Big shoutout as always to Hillis for creating these pieces of art once again. Ciao ciao!

Great jerseys! And I like that squad. Yeh it may not be the strongest but I think you have great leaders that should be able to carry the younger guys on the team! I like the training of Powless. He becomes a lot scarier then he was before

Love the NC jerseys! They look fantastic! Great work Hillis!

Love the set of NC jersey's, great to see a micronation team with four micro nation jerseys.

Powless to 80 TT makes great sense and makes him a definite top 10 scorer. A bit of a pity Eastman has a similar skill set but luckily lots of races to suit them.

And obviously a very impressive roster of talents.

Had to do what I had to do, slowly shifting to a fully self developed squad requires sacrificing points I guess.

Still a few micro jersey's to go, unsure if Gibraltar would ever be added in as I suppose they're counted under Britain but I need that Monegasque shirt Pfft

Hello all, trying to be more involved with the HQ and all throughout the season which I hope y'all appreciate Pfft so here I am again to announce the goals for the season. After our achievement of succeeding in 4 out of 5 goals in 2022 we never have gotten a single one again, something we hope to change this year!

PTHCCriterium du Dauphine LibereWin
PCTIndividual StandingsWin
HCTour d'AndorraWin
HCTour du Maroc Win
HCTour de RomandieWin

As you can all see, we've gone full week-long stage race mode this year. Our plan was to get a big leader to replace Reis, and with two of our favorite stage races being upgraded to HC we just couldn't resist. It definitely won't be a walk in the park to achieve either of the HC goals and especially the Dauphine, but its far more realistic than what we've done in past years. Ofcourse PCT win is just for that extra bit of cash.

redordead
Hopefully Eastman does the business in these goal races. I guess 80 TT Powless wasn't a sure thing before because I could see some of the goals picked for him. But even so you will be well set for goal races next year Smile
