Priedler really turning up on this stage lovely result for 7th and 3 riders in that first group is a really good start to the GC race |

Hard to begrudge Air New Zealand a gutsy victory, congrats to Jasper . . . on the other hand feel like we need to squeeze every second from these punchy stages and that was careless. There are a few similar stages later in the race but the break seems likely to get them.
Glad to know Mac feels guilty about last year though.

Elosegui has been steady so far, which is better than what I was expecting. Hopefully the longer the race goes on, the stronger he gets. Will be interesting to see how the short TTT goes tomorrow, I'm expecting a random result and the time gaps to be minimal. Really don't want not bringing a top-tier TT guy to hinder Elosegui's chances.
Then we need Stage 7 to be somewhat decisive, but not sure the stage is long enough for Elosegui to truly be at his best. Stages 11, 18 and 21 is where I think he can do the most damage. But time will tell.
Thanks for the reports so far!

Seeing McGill perform in the first sprint makes me very happy! And beside that just the consistent top 10s are very welcome for our rankings. This is sponsorwise a very important GT for us, and last season was amazing for me personally to see the results. So I hope we can see a replication of that with Verschaeve. We will wear our Japanese colors with pride in this race! |

Davila and Rodriguez staying with the favourites is excellent. Rodriguez now 2nd in youth rankings. Probably won’t last there with the TTT coming up but good to see him able to do well in the uphill finishes.
Congrats to the winner and thanks for another good report

Sometimes I just don't get this AI...
Can't complain with the team result by any means. Shared 4th is easily in the higher end of my expectations, and losing 9 seconds to the winner is also great.
But how on earth do we manage to lose our best TT rider - and GC leader Giannoutsos in the proces? That is just ridiculous.
And I can't really say that McCormick did any better. They also left the GC leader behind. I mean... Come on!?
Let's hope our team can play it a little bit smarter in the next mountainous stage. We could really need that by now. Already 50 seconds behind Sosa. It's about time to start clawing something back.

Back down off cloud 9 now can't believe how well that has gone still, like others we dropped our "GC" ish leader in Priedler but held no hopes for him before the race in GC anyway and this might even give him the chance to be more attacking hopefully. Boily and Hamilton holding position really well atm though tomorrow will show more who we are going to have leading our GC charge i will just keep enjoying these amazing first 6 stages thanks for the reports KB |

Really happy with our finish in the TTT. Usually we do quite bad but I suppose we had a decent team this time.
Congrats to the winner! And thanks for the report

Yeah that was kind of a wash, with all teams pretty similar and the gaps so small it was all form I would think. Sosa is a weaker TT rider so dropping him makes more sense than Giannoutsos. I couldn't find him at first and thought we had lost major time.
Lotto with a nice finish, be interesting to see how they play their two-headed monster.
Tomorrow is a stage I hope suits Sosa, not too hard but with a pretty steep finish, after that we are on the defensive. His gap can be wiped out in one day without doubt.

Thanks for the last reports! A bit underwhelming after a good debut. Now that we've lost time, let's go into the break, please, and not with Serrano?

Two big days for Cervelo, congratulations!
Sosa taking some time again, but just like last time of course missing out on (more) stage winning seconds. So far, the battle for yellow is still wide open
Fantastic reports btw, kandesbunzler!

EPIC from Priedler the team is just racing like madmen here two stages wins in the first week of the GT , plus a stint in yellow, and now leading KOMs can not ask more from this team this has just been epic
Hard mountain stage to come which should see Boily lose time his aim has to be top 30 GC now but to see Hamilton in a comfortable top 15 in the peloton means there could be a top 20 GC ride in this for him as well as hopefully Priedler going for the KOM jersey and Houle continuing to pick up points for the green jersey.
Teams compeition wise we are false leaders currently due to the breakaway today seeing Boily be much further up then usual and if we could hold top 4 in that to the end i would be surprised
Loving the reports KB |

Rodriguez and Davila staying in contact with the GC. Happy with how we are going so far! I think we need our sprinter to continue to be up there and get us some points. We can’t rely only on Davila for our GC points.
Good start though for us!
Congrats to the winner and great reports!

Every day the Gap grows bigger, and we don’t really get any noticeable stage results either…
I hope Giannoutsos finds himself a good Daily form sooner rather than later, because the points just ain’t stacking…

Great TTT from our team, didn't expect that at all to be honest. The first week has been amazing for us. Our GC goal of 1x top-3 and 2x top-10 is still alive.
Thanks KB for the reports!

Congrats to Cervelo - absolutely on fire. Hopefully Priedler's GC is too good now, we can't have him running wild, although the KOM lead often gives you freer reign.
Going to admit that when I report GTs I am always a amused by managers who's are frustrated their GC-leading riders aren't racking up more points. Which just goes to show you shouldn't judge a person until you walk in their shoes.
Because dammit - that is two straight road stages where Sosa was clearly the top gun and we didn't win either which means our GC and points lead are much narrower than they could be. And on top of that we only gained 13 seconds on the riders I think are probably our biggest rivals. And it is our team suffering the fate I described for ELCO.
So agree with Nemo still very wide open, a one minute lead could disappear in a flash in any of the 3 big mountain stages or the TTs. Wouldn't mind giving up the lead tomorrow to someone not too good just to rest the team legs for a few stages. Of course I probably shouldn't say that because we know what happened on S8 of the Tour.
