@ryant: This is starting to look like a big homecoming party! Suter will be for sale, as I susepct I’ve kind of got one too many top/decent rouleurs card to play for flat races, as Anderberg will hopefully also claim a role for such races, which is why Suter is available. Looking forward to talking with you!

Well, to be honest, I think there are only two options for Suter to really "come home" Pfft

Excited to see how much a beast Anderberg/Amezawa become, going to be weird seeing your new look team one the other side of transfers!

@whitejersey: Fingers crossed we can make it happen! Far from guaranteed though, so I’m excited to see how it plays out.

@Abhi: To be honest, I most likely agree, though, as always, there’s always the opportunity to talk and discuss, and suddenly plans will change Smile

@ryant & Fabianski: As long as there is a party! Looking forward to talking to you both.

Valter, Novak and Groenewegen To Lead The Line

As the transfer season started, Aker - MOT was prepared to let Mohoric leave. There was quite some interest in him, but in the end, the team decided to have him as part of a trade on "our terms", eventhough that arguably meant a hefty overprice going the way of EA Vesuvio. In the end we were happy to pay big for Valter, as he will be our new leader for the next seasons.

www.esciclismo.com/actualidad/imagenes/a/attila-valter-vuelta-hungria-et5-2020-tourdehongrie-web.jpg

Valter joins with huge expectations, as we really hope he can come straight in and lead the team to success both for the one day classics, but also for the hybrid races.

The next leader in line is Novak. We were happy to find a way to make him an Aker rider. We hope he can deliver similar results to what Amezawa did for us last season, especially in those hybrid races.

www.uaeteamemirates.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/sprintcyclingagency_0819680_1_2000px.jpg

We're indeed excited to see Novak in our colours. He has got the tools to be a great breakaway rider in Grand Tours, or even race for GC. We also hope he can make a difference for us in the week long stage races where we decide to enter him.

The third and final new leader of the team is Dylan Groenewegen. Here, we must admit our transfer season took a surprising turn, as we weren't really prepared, neither thought much of, letting Amezawa go. Though, in the end, with us finding other targets in the transfer season, our fear of relegation became very real. Thus, we decided to sell Amezawa in a trade to bring in sprinter Groenewegen, who we think could score well both this season and next season, which might be just what the doctor orders for us to stay afloat in the Pro Tour while we also have a long vision for talent development.

Groenewegen is one of the finest sprinters out there, and we hope he can shine again and again for us. Obviously we didn't plan much of our team for a sprinter like him, but it goes without saying we're trying to do our part late this transfer season to give him the best possible support.

Generational Talent De Lie Goes With Aker - MOT

It's with huge excitement we can announce the signing of free agent Arnaud De Lie this transfer season. The Belgian is by many seen as the next big thing in cycling, and eventhough it's early doors for him and his development, we can't hide our joy for having him join us, as we're looking forward to develop him and let him grow in our team.

We know most people within cycling see De Lie as a future world class cobbler. Inside the team, we are not so sure at all. We must admit we really, really like him as a future sprinter, as we think with one year of training, he would be brilliant, and after two seasons of training, he will be an absolute world class sprinter very few can compete with.

With how the Pro Tour calendar is built for cobblers, we honestly think his biggest potential will be for sprints when we look at it points wise, as his poor TT is harming him as a cobbler. With a trained sprint stat of 81 or thereabouts, we think he can make the golden 2000+ points a season on regular basis, while we don't think that's a given at all with a trained cobbles stat of 81 or 82.

Anyway, enough thinking out loud by the team management. Below follows the two main option we consider seriously for his development. And as hinted at, we're really drawn towards the sprinter option, due to the sensational backup stats he will get there. But what are your thoughts? We're very curious to hear you out!

Please shoot! How would you actually prefer to develop De Lie to make him a future superstar?

Congrats! A massive battle that you won in the end.

Coming from a PT title, it's an admirable plan to utilize the relative safety of the squad as a whole to look far into the future instead of chasing more immediate success.
I did pretty much the same and never regretted it. Smile

Sprinter. Definitely sprinter imo.
You don't get handed 83acc for free, and nobody trains that stat either so that's an advantage you can preserve for his entire career.

alexkr00
I would go for the first option. The second one doesn't really make him anything in my opinion and would still need massive training in either cobbles or sprint to actually have him battle at the front.

Congrats on signing him!

Great job finally landing the one HUGE talent this season. I maxed him somewhere in between to get the REC up. So I have him at 79COB 77SPR Smile

No matter whether i see him as a sprinter or cobbler post training, i'd want to take some of the sp+acc of the second version. Whether its some mixed path to get a bit of both (for the cobbles mainly) or straight up sprinter path, i'd want him to get at least 79ACC (e.g. sprinter - cobbles - sprinter - cobbles). Might like the sprinter - sprinter - sprinter - cobbles the most but its a really close one.

Never change a winning team? Always change a winning team! But if you can change the team for those three guys, well, it'll remain a winning team Pfft

De Lie obviously another big signing, and like the others I think a mix could be nice. but if I had to choose one of two options I'd say the above one.

A huge overhaul of the team Shock

Valter, Novak and Groenewegen are all awesome leaders to have. Especially Valter should be mixing it up at the top in hilly races for years.

And then of course De Lie. I'd probably go more for the cobble than sprint route, but I doubt he wouldn't be great either way Smile

I would have thought you would keep the stat colours and change the orange, not the other way around Pfft

Lots of changes in the team, but I guess it make sense to change things up after the overwhelming success of last season. Congrats on De Lie, I think I would go with the cobbles path, but mostly because I prefer classics riders over sprinters. For maximizing his scoring potential, you might be right that he would do better as a sprinter. With 83 ACC he would surely have an edge over his oponents.

roturn
De Lie is a nice rider.

Would have liked going for him as well but just couldn`t this season.
But it`s kind of you to develop him with first option and then in 3 years he can just replace Hooydonck in my team. Thanks!

Actually a big fan of his puncheur path. You should look into it Pfft

I think the stage racer path works on his biggest weaknesses...
