Sorry for my absence the past couple of weeks, am just catching up now.
Big race for us and we need to make it count if we have any hope of promotion.
We have a good team here around Dunbar, so hopefully this time he can make it stick. People are so quick to write off other riders expecting him to win, but that hasn’t been the case the last two years at all. And although Dunbar is in yellow now, he doesn’t really have that much of an advantage over riders like Stussi - that lead can evaporate very quickly. It’s a pretty weak field so we’re probably going to have to do a lot of work over the next two stages, hopefully the team is up for it and can look after Dunbar well enough. Fingers crossed anyway. Congrats to lief, Fab and Gustav on the stage wins so far, Rekita winning s2 was good to see.
Thanks for the preview kb and for the wonderful reports Imladrik!

Well that couldn't have gone worse. Can Narvaez sub in?
Congrats to Gus, I think Stannard is the most successful punchy type rider in the division. Thanks for the reports.

First of all, thanks for all the S2 congrats Feels good indeed to get a TT win, as beating stronger TTers has become a rarity with the current settings (which isn't necessarily bad, though).

Congrats Fab! Can't believe you've won this few stages this seasons, but probably all the TTT wins, GC and classics results (and wins) make up for it
We really didn't win much in the second half of the year, the last stage win being in Romandie. Besides the two Giro stage wins, we won three TTT stages, and one single non-TTT stage. Which was Bol's win in Juarez. I expected him to win some more, but no - so Rekita's win indeed is the only other non-TTT non-wildcard stage win
But you're obviously right, four classic wins and four more classic podiums (and a couple of GC podiums, with no wins, though) easily make up for the lack of stage wins

Congrats Gustav! Meanwhile Teuns with another solid result, maybe he can climb the ranks a bit further in the last two stages, and I wouldn't mind some more stage results.

Decent stage results so far! Hopefully Gesbert can keep the momentum going and gain more time on the riders ahead in the next two stages

Thanks for the report and congrats to the winner!
Was a decent stage from us, Lipowitz presented our colors and sponsor and made a good run for the KoM points, I hope he will have the energy left to pursue this any further at the next stages.
Also it was not so bad from Ide, after all he isnt the punchiest guy there but he could climb the GC ladder a bit. If he is able to continue maybe he can come close to the top 10-15 in the end.

Wow, Stüssi
I definitely expected him to do well in this race, but I was rather eyeing stage 5 with the long climb for a potential stage win! It looks like even pretty short uphill finishes are skewed towards climbers nowadays... Good that I brought both climbers and puncheurs then
And good to see Masnada also in the mix; would've loved to see Schmid there as well (for team standings reasons mainly), but destroying the field and tiring the opposition definitely was the right thing to do here.
The GC looks great now, as both Stüssi and Masnada should be able to get a Top 10, and the former will hopefully hold onto his GC podium, being the best climber present. Winning is still possible, but he'd need to open a gap on Dunbar tomorrow then. But for this to happen, I suppose the finish line would have needed to be at the end of the steep section and not on the flat.
But if we don't end up losing everything we've achieved so far, this race will be a success regardless whether Stüssi wins the GC or ends up 5th. But I'll admit that I'd love to get a GC win, as we don't have any so far in 2023
Thanks for the report!

Abreu in the break with a strong result but really disappointed in the team to not have anyone even manage to make the final groups on stages 3 and 4 - looking like it'll be rough on stage 5 as well unless Abreu maybe holds tight in the pack or gets into the break - we'll see!
Congrats to all the winners so far and good luck on the final stage.

Decent enough stage, happy with the 2nd place. Stussi is in great form, congrats fab. Such a small gap to him going into the final stage which is the only stage I actually thought he’d have an advantage with the more ‘mountainous’ profile, but that’s this game version for you. Hoping for a good day tomorrow, and for the team to step up and try and actually achieve a decent depth result for once.
Thanks for the report!

If we can finish this race in the same manner, i'd be very happy.
Solid team performance, and although no top placement we're gathering points in GC at the moment.
Thank you Imladrik! |

Decent stage from Gesbert again, but not selective enough for him to climb up the GC to a place that really gives material points. Hopefully the last stage will be tough enough to create some more gaps.

A rare win on stage 3 has lifted our spirits. Great performance by Stannard! Hopefully he can secure the white jersey and the top10 for some much needed points.
Great battle unfolding for the overall victory. I'm definitely hyped for the final stage. Congrats Fab!

Odd race for us. It's understandable that the stage was too hard for Ion, and Eyob has taken his place in the Top 20 instead. I really would've liked to see Ndayisenga in the front group though, he should have the skillset to keep up with most of those guys. That said, just like before this stage, we're in position to bring one or two guys into the Top 10, and stage 5 should suit our guys well. But we could still easily fail that, too. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Thanks for the nice report, and congrats Fab!

Obviously, it's in the one C1 race that I report that my team gets a big result.

Ouch. Definitely one of the dumbest tactical choices I've seen so far. 2nd on GC Stüssi working like crazy - knowing he's the best climber in the field - only to get dropped later on. The GC win definitely was on the table today, but he simply refused to take it. One of his worst stages of the year...
But at least Masnada was able to jump in, what a performance by him once again! With this result, I guess he'll outscore Stüssi this year, proving what an amazing season he had! Schmid finally showing up and taking 4th on the stage I expected it the least is nice to see, too - although that's just because of our dumb choice of letting Stüssi work instead of Schmid...
3rd and 8th in GC would have been considered a great result pre-race, but going into stage 5 with 2nd and 6th, it's a rather disappointing outcome. Still a great points haul obviously, and if there still were any questions about promotion, they should be answered by now. Two stage wins, two more podiums, plenty of Top 10s, GC podium, GC Top 10, U25 podium - and the teams win. Looks like planning for niche races paid off once again
Congrats to Assa on the stage win, and to Indosat on another Dunbar GC win. I guess the rankings shouldn't look too bad for you now
Sad to see Bralirwa failing pretty bad here, this should have been a great race for them, too...
Thanks for the reports!

Congrats to Eden on the win. Shame to see the AI shaft Stussi like that with him being in with a shot for the win before the stage.
Thanks for the race Imladrik. Pretty anonymous for us. I had hoped Barbio might be able to hang on better in the hills, but it wasn't to be.

Overall, this is probably an underperformance, and I had hoped for more. At the same time, looking at the riders ahead of us, the margins are really thin. Like, Uwi could've finished ahead of Barta or Primozic or Knox, but they're all so close together that it's reasonable to have it be the other way around, too. If we consider that, at least in hindsight, none of our riders was a Top 10 lock, three guys between 12th and 18th is still okay-ish, especially given some of the overperformances we've had in similar races before. Ndayisenga really continues to underwhelm this year, though.
The big picture problem for us in the promotion race is Gesbert outscoring us pretty significantly, but that, too, is not an unreasonable outcome. No idea how the September rankings will look like, but I guess we'll find out soon enough
Thanks for the reports, Imladrik, and congrats Eden on the overall win!

There we go! Excellent performance by Gesbert Really happy to come away with a stage win, the points jersey and a 6th place in GC. Other stage results were overall really good as well.
The run-in to the season will be nerve-wracking. I have us slightly ahead of Bralirwa in the live rankings, but expect to have a gap to close after Tour of Japan. Expect Indosat and Xero to secure 3rd and 4th in the rankings, so this battle will be crucial! Hopefully Gesbert can carry this nice form into Euskal Bizikleta and Giro dell'Emillia.
Congrats to Eden and thanks a lot for the reports!

First of all, congrats to Eden95 for the win. Now, I wasn't really active lately as I've been considering whether or not to continue after this season and totally forgot that was even in some races. And TBF didn't had high hopes for this race either, even though last year the team had 3rd place in GC. But after the first few stages my mood about this season changed as it's making a good use from an overall bad situation. In the end Barta missed out on the podium, but 4th in GC + 6th in points classification is fine. Pavlic in 13th and Nikiema in 20th also score some ranking points. I guess that Selimovic gets an additional point which is a plus for his rookie season and 2nd in the teams standings isn't bad at all. Guess I've hit the right formula by accident, but would it be enough to keep my interest in the ManGame though? We'll see.
And thanks for the reports Imladrik

Congrats to Dunbar on the expected win. Nice to see Gesbert deliver as well. And despite the team confusion it turned out ok for Jura.
Odd race for us as Bagioli and Boswell decide to compete on the stage that I think was least suited to us after going completely AWOL on the more suited stages.
Thanks to Imladrik for taking on the reports.
