I am not sure what Juan Sossa and Brandon Rodriguez are doing all the way in Lithuania, but it's a question born out of jealousy. Just kidding here, mostly, because I would have loved to sign Brandon Rodriguez. Smile

Well, we have quite a history with big foreign talents from far away, one of big earners this year in Kyeng Ho Min started his career here. And our riders are always available if you show THE BIG HEART and COMMITMENT.

The second BOI is typa rider we tested out last year, and it worked out decently well. A dedicated stage race sprinter. Hayakawa did very well for us last year, unfortunately we raised his profile too high and he ended up outside our financial capabilities. Instead, Max Losch was brought in on 65k wage.

Bereznyak is a very interesting talent. Crazy how Oleg didn't go for him Pfft I wonder what Moscon will do in C1/HC. And hope for you Halvorsen can keep his sprinting consistenty up.

Frankovic was the two-time domestique of the year at McCormick. We renamed the award after him. He is the right man for the lead out job. At the end of the year got to get him back where he belongs in the Croatian NC jersey.

Be good to see how Dion Smith does as a leader (?) rather than KOM chaser.

I wanted to place a bid on Frankovic but went in other direction in the end. I am looking forward to see Brandon Rodriguez develop and I am glad Jesus Herrada found a home here, I have fond memories from his time spent with my team.

Very happy to see that Guldhammer found and good team and will probably get to lead some of his own races this year. Halvorsen as always remains the stud.

We sure do hope Mateo (miss u bby) continues his domestique masterclass.
Dion just needs to score some decent points, I am confident he can git the job done with all the support he will have.

Moscon finally gets that training I couldn't / didn't want to offer him. I still suppose he missed out on a couple of great results just because his 79 Hi stat was too low for PCM to keep him in the mix (bad positioning), so I'm really looking forward to see if it does make a difference Smile
I like your aggressive/punchy climbers, but it remains to be seen if you can find them an enough well-suited calendar to bring home enough points. Halvorsen, Moscon and Beniusis surely will contribute, but otherwise it's pretty much about depth points in uphill races now with your main GC rider gone.
The future should look good anyway, with all those juicy talents Smile

I think training money could be spent better elsewhere. Moving Dion Smith up a point in MO could have been the play but also +acc on Halvorsen. I understand the caution with training a sprinter in a new engine though.

My philosophy flowchart is very simple:

1. Do I intend to keep rider?
2. Do I think/know it's a good scorer in my division?
3. TRAIN

Dion is straight no to 1., so I wasn't even thinking about him. Could it have been better investment, absolutely, but he is also a NO for 2nd question. He scored for fun in PT, but it's a different ballgame in PCT. Moscon scored 383 in 2021 (Skujins, Failerman, EBH, Beltran, Kwiat, Kino, Bobridge and many more, you know, the killer puncher PCT season), so I think he is definitely a rider who can score points. Score more than everyone on the goon squad (except Halvorgoat) last year. Tiny sample size, but it is what it is. Points scored is more or less my only barometer of how good a rider is.
I wouldve loved to train Beniusis this year too, but unfortunately just couldn't get a few extra thousand to get the second train, so he's likely to stay at 79 next year too as I think Lasinis is a bigger priority.
In terms of Halvorsen, that was in consideration before transfer window, but once a lot of great sprinters started appearing on PCT teams, it made very little sense to train him, I am pretty sure I would be spending 1.4mil on someone who's gonna score less than last year anyways.

And this season really is just a spray and pray, I couldn't find lanes for my situation to go for it THIS year, but if I manage to survive then I will have a ton of cap, Kmieliauskas will be one of best TTers in division already and a bunch of dudes I can leverage to get some real big dawgs. (unless Moscon is complete poopy doo doo)

I don't think it would have been better to train Dion Smith either. A lot of his succes comes from being allowed freedom to attack. Making him better would risk taking away that benefit, with him instead chasing GC results. And there are so many better riders than him there.

Whether or not Moscon is a good option is a question about how the game treats his SPR. I think some versions would see him as a very limited puncheur do to that sub 60SPR, which is rare for puncheurs. He will mostly be up against similar riders but with +10-15 SPR. Maybe the +1 will help him get away from the bunch more often. Who knows.

Interesting choice. Not that many great training options, so could probably do a lot worse than making Moscon 80 HI. I always liked him provided he's planned correctly.

I am a believer. I mean you can't predict much unless you spent hours and days running races on PCM22 over and over, but again, 2021 suggested that sprint should not be much of an issue.
