McCormick and Ulriksen Sports are pleased to announce the return of Baltimore-based McCormick & Company as the primary sponsor of McCormick Pro Cycling. McCormick Pro Cycling is a long-term project to build a significant American cycling team.
Team manager Ulrich Ulriksen welcomed the news, "We are thrilled to continue with McCormick as sole major sponsor. With the promotion to PCT we considered bringing in a second sponsor but McCormick were interested in maintaining their exclusive role and have committed to increasing their financial contribution." He continued, "While we will remain primarily focused on US riders we have agreed with McCormick that we will have to broaden our reach in order to be competitive. We have agreed particularly to work with McCormick's brands in South America."
The team enjoyed by far their greatest success last season as veteran Lawrence Warbasse led the team to promotion. Ulriksen said "We are very proud to have achieved our original goal of promotion with entirely US riders leading us on the road, but now is the time to refine our strategy.".
The team expects to announce the renewed riders for next season soon.

It's great that you finally made it to the PCT with all U.S. leaders! And with McNulty maxed now, you've already got a fantastic core! Even with the latter's inevitable wage increase, you'll have a lot of cap space to play around with - so I clearly wouldn't be surprised to see you at compete for the Top 10 or even the promotion spots! If you can renew your entire climbers armada, plus Boswell, plus Keough (and maxed Walscheid, almost forgot!), you should be almost safe already
Good luck for transfers & the upcoming season, and it's really great that the entirety of the remaining 2019 class just promoted together

I like the South American expansion, it fits nicely and it still feels like an untapped region with all the riders that come from there.

Great to see you in PCT, especially with how the long term focus has borne fruit so well. Looking forward to a maxed McNulty for sure! Also second red in saying the new secondary focus looks like an organic expansion and there should be enough good options to pick up from there. All the best in PCT

Thanks for the congrats.
@jandal, fab - I will have a good amount of cap space, but definitely need some more point scorers, FA is going to be ugly with all the teams so that worries me.
@abhi, red - Glad you like the geographic expansion, I spent a bunch of time thinking about it and took the trouble to estimate the most over and under subscribed countries (Over = Den and Nzl, although US close now with Duolingo moving there, FRA and ITA undersubscribed). I didn't settle on South America and Colombia until right at the end but really it was the obvious answer.

I love it mate! It feels familiar for an American team to slowly reach into South American. EF anybody?
Either way, I'm excited for you in PCT, and if you have any riders that aren't quite up to snuff, let me know, I could take care of them for you on loan... |

Already a really cool team, but will definately take a turn for the even stronger with the focus of South America too. I could see you move pretty close towards the top of the PCT fairly quickly.

Amazing to see you promote in the perfect year, with McNulty maxing. Wonderful manager, patient teambuilding, great regional core, nothing you can hate about this team.
Let's not compete too hard for the Colombian riders though. I'll take the ones with an average higher than 72, you can have the rest (minus 2001 riders). Think this is fair.

I think you are being too generous; I will limit myself to 71.5

Like the regional expansion at a time when your roster and budget are already expanding. Feels very natural. So excited to see what you come up with!

McCormick Renews Everyone
McCormick Pro Cycling is pleased to welcome back nearly all their 2022 roster as they being their first PCT-level adventure. In addition to renewing most of their 2022 riders, McCormick also renewed with 2022 loan-outs Brandon McNulty and Max Walscheid.
Only draft riders Welle Jallays and Michael Rodriguez Galindo and stagiaires Cole Davis and Conor Schunk were not renewed. The team wishes all of them success going forward and thanks them for their contribution to our promotion.
Team manager Ulrich Ulriksen commented that "We have always intended to retain our young US core and with forecasters calling for a tough free agent market we thought it best to also renew with all of our current leaders, even those who may find PCT a challenge. The team retains significant cap space and will look to fill out the roster with some point scorers".
Ulriksen noted that "While we don't have to make any sales we will certainly be open to offers that make sense for us and our riders, we have never been opposed to allowing our riders, even those from the US, to move on when a good fit emerges. Although certainly a move is more likely for our non-US riders."

Wow, McNulty really got a huge payday. Would be interesting to see what he can do for you as your franchise cornerstone.

Bold move ! Then again unlike others you actually had a plan and arrive in PCT with a great leader in his prime. McNulty still seems a good deal at that salary
You still have plenty of room to expand. I hear Bogota has lovely coffee

Keeping the crew together here makes a lot of sense! Only rider you could argue doesn't necessarily have to be on the roster wuld be Azka but he fits a decent niche for TTTing that you probably wont get under 50k. Overall exicted to see where the roster ends up post transfers!

I have absolutely no doubt that McNulty will be worth that salary. Interested to see what you decide to do with decline Warbasse. At that price he's still a good fit to be Brandon's superdomestique.

Lots of free wage to bring in more leaders and make the first PCT season a smooth one. As always, looking forward to see how you tackle transfers and what follows
